    Watching this video again over a year and 20,000 views later!! This literally just popped up on my CZcams feed. Enormous thanks to everyone that grabbed a Dirty Tree because of this video and a big time thanks to Fluff. Almost hit 3000x units built and shipped which is CRAZY! Especially for a small time home based pedal builder. The fact that I've shipped this pedal to many many many legendary musicians including some of my idols....just blows my mind every single day!!

      @Dizzy Duke No it’s not. Every Pepers’ Pedal that I’ve bought has shipped to me from New Zealand in about a week or so, and I’m in the U.S. Tony Pepers usually ships direct via DHL, I believe, so it doesn’t have to go through that log jam at the ports and then to a U.S. distributor. Shipping isn’t free, but I think you’ll be surprised at how fast you receive it.

    @PippPriss Před rokem

    I won this pedal in a giveaway directly sent by Tony himself. Incredible Boost. The latest epiphany in boost territory since a year or two when I find out about the MXR M77 custom badass modified OD.
    This is PERFECT for a XXX, where the M77 totally fails to clean up, and I can see it pushing it a rectifier perfectly. Also, the design seems to be a copycat of the Isosceles, which has the Fortin 33 and Grind mode switch away from the classic TC integrated, I can tell you TOTALLY different beast. Reminds me a bit of the green channel of the DAE duality instead, has a nice tubescreamy upper mid push while retaining a bit of the TC clank.
    Awesome pedal. For a 5150, I like a precision drive or the M77 more, but this winds hands down on more flubby, but yet modern metal Amps.

    Fluff... Just ordered a Dirt Tree today... Also run a Fortin Hexdrive through the front of my 2-channel Rev-G's (95 DR, 2x 99 TR's), with a ZUUL through the Loop to quiet everything down, and there are definitely times I like the Fortin Hexdrive, where it seems to smooth the top-end out a bit, like you said. My settings for the Hexdrive are: Drive - 10 o'clock, Tone - Backed down all the way to the left, Level - Dimed all the way to the right. It just gives it that little extra to smooth out the tone and feel of the amp, without affecting the sound too much.
    I'm curious to know your thoughts on how the Hexdrive compares to the Dirty Tree, and would love to see a shootout video comparing them, if you have the time. I can't seem to find any videos on YT that are directly comparing them both on the same amp and guitar/signal chain at the same time.
    Also, one of my 99 Triple Recs needs some work done to it, is that guy that modded your Triple Rec still doing work? Do you still recommend him?
    Thanks for your time.

    I owned one and it was cool, especially in my '92 Rev F Dual Recto, but I ended up selling it because it really only does one sound. You can hear it in Fluff's video: it's that metallic filtered "wah stuck halfway" kind of sound. If you're looking for that sound, then this will be a great fit for you. If you're looking for something more versatile, I'd consider something else like a Plumes, Xotic BB, or Suhr Koko Boost.

    • @sephiroth762
      @sephiroth762 Před 2 lety +1

      @@oscarcastellon7398 I mean that the Dirty Tree has a "filtered" effect when you turn it on. Kind of like how a wah stuck halfway filters your sound (That is one of Slash's big tone secrets, btw). It cuts out almost all the lows and leaves you with a thinner but more cutting sound. You might like it! It just wasn't for me; didn't feel very versatile.

    try out ThisHeavyEarth's pedals. THE makes amazing metal distortion and overdrive pedals. They just produced their first boost pedal called the "Pentademon". I personally own their "Chvrchbvrner" distortion/preamp pedal and it is insanely versatile, can make it sound like Jimmy Page or like Infernus of Gorgoroth, and it extremely responsive to boosts. They have the "Fleshrot" pedal to mimic the tone of Florida Death Metal. They even have an upgraded HM-2 clone called the "Crustifixion", and a high gain overdrive called "The Grim". Give them a look, the people in charge of THE are awesome, and respond to questions and feedback very frequently in a very positive way. They specifically want every guitarist that buys their pedals to enjoy them, and will listen to feedback to improve the pedals for the next batches.

ALL.. and I do have Duality Dx too, but haven't had time to test it yet (yep.. I have too much junk lol)).

      Pairs really well with it. Flipped it on and off with my drummer in the room and we were both surprised at how much clearer the tone sounded in the room. Running into a Mesa 2X12 at the time. Definitely worth the investment.

    "however all thoughts and opinions are still mine" seems like a weird thing to say right after adamantly denying any affiliation. Love you Fluff, but be more honest about your videos man and the stuff you are pushing.

    Greatest ever ? Fucking bullshit. Your favorite does not equal greatest. "Preference does not dictate performance"
    Is it good, absolutely. Best ? Not even close.

    • @ventproc
      @ventproc Před 2 lety

      Anything concerning preference in music isn't objectively measurable. You could compile statistics to find a "greatest player" in a sports league, can't do such a thing for "person X's favorite pedal".
      Got one on my pedal shelf, along with some boutique stuff and generics like an OD808 and SD-1, and they all get used. It's a great pedal, just not the alpha and omega for me, though it's perfectly plausible that for someone else it might be just that.

      @@ventproc yeah I own a Dirty tree, and like you own a bunch of boutique ODs and boosts. Personally I don't get it. The DT is a very limited pedal. I want range, I want versatility. I want something that can work on a whole range of amps not just one style or brand of amp. The dirty tree might work great for mesa rectifiers but that doesn't mean it works great on all amps, and if it does work well on an amp it still lacks features and versatility compared to alot of pedals out there in today's market.
