    I have done exactly as you demonstrated and it was very easy to do, having said that, I decided to take a small coca cola bottle of coolant direct from the reservoir with a hand pump, which I subsequently replaced with neat coolant as my focus was running a bit on the rough due to the cold weather that we been experiencing. Now my temperature gauge is fluctuating from cold to hot and back to cold primarily when I stop the car from a morning journey to work, worries me all the time.
    Today I decided to take a different route through the m25 on my way back home. It fluctuated once toncold when I slow down due to traffic, put the heating on HI and drive pretty much for an hour without fluctuating and kept to normal temperature, on arrival at home the gauge kept right in the middle of the temperature display for a while as I kept the car running to observe if it would fluctuate again which it didn't.
    Could you help me to diagnose what the issue might be as the car runs perfectly, no warning lights on dashboard.
    The vehicle is a 2013 Ford focus titanium x 1600 diesel
    Any imput will be much appreciated.
    Many thanks.

    Hey. Without a suction pump is the fuel filter ok just filling it up? I've read a comment on here that someone had a new code after their DIY with maybe air in their system. If you say its no big deal i'll keep to that, otherwise I can make a makeshift handpump and take the air out, or i'll buy one and do it properly. Thanks in advance.

    • @diydaly

    TIP......REMOVE FILTER BOX TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO THE DODGY PLASTIC NUT ON THE OIL FILTER HOUSING
    I struggled to undo the oil filter nut as I only had a spanner that was big enough to fit but there wasn't enough room to properly fit and turn the spanner due to poor accessibility.
    The air filter box is easily removed as you just undo an electrical connector and then just pull it out from the rubber mountings. Bingo - managed to undo the tightly fit oil filter housing with the spanner and adjustable wrench, without looking for a suitable socket or tool to purchase.

    Is this procedure similar for the C-Max of the same year, the engine bay layout looks 'more or less' the same. I ask as I am getting a weird 'Engine Malfunction Service Now' light when going to about 3,000 RPM which generally seems to be fuel filter related it seems.

    Instead of using ‘a sucker pump’ as you stupidly put it, just fill the filter with diesel before you put the seal on top of it…………………

    • @andyasquith5216
      @andyasquith5216 Před 24 dny

      Priming the filter is a bit of an arse ache. Prior to fitting the top, you will need to keep your finger over the drain hole. Otherwise, it will pish diesel everywhere.
      Prefer to use the pump, and then you can guarantee no air between the filter and HP fuel pump.
      Hey, ho, though, each to their own. There's more than one way to skin a cat.
