It is very nice to see someone who takes pride in their work and what they do, this isn’t around as much as it should be. And explaining every step in great detail. Brilliant Dave 👍👍
Great video Dave. Loved your explanation and the attention to detail. Just did this on our 2009 Volvo C30 1.6D. Couldn't have done it properly without you.
Dave, another excellent video as usual. I do most of my families car repairs, servicing, broken springs etc, but what you did in this video is demonstrate that are least 6 ways of getting this job wrong! This is one job I would leave to experts like yourself, with the necessary tools and a wealth of experience. Keep the videos coming, I always look forward to them!
thank you for this incredibly detailed video, Dave! This has given me the confidence to try and sort this out myself. I've had a 2011 Ford Fiesta econetic since new, and this exact same injector is just starting to show evidence of carbon. I know a lot of people like to trash these engines, but mine has over 150,000 miles on it and until now has never had a single issue until now. All just regular maintenance and wear and tear items. Hands down the most reliable car I've ever owned, and that includes my Volvo 240. An old diesel mechanic told me when the car was new to just cut the service intervals in half, so the oil/filter gets done every 6 months or around 5000 miles. Seems like it's worked!
Good job Dave, well explained and easy to understand video, I enjoyed it and I love your sense of humor too. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, tips and tricks plus video upload. 👍
Thank you so much for showing how to clean a fuel injector for a ford tdci engine ... helped me a lot with my car and the injector problem and saved me 300 pound on new injectors
Great video - many thanks. Just followed this for my 2009 Volvo V50 1.6 diesel. Getting my local Volvo dealer to load Injector Confirmation software, then code the new injectors.
Great video, just noticed a mountain of tar on injector 3 on the mrs C30 you have given me the confidence to tackle it, love the workmanship and effort gone into this video. Have subscribed 👊👊
Managed to get my leaking injector washer replaced today after watching this vid a couple of times, some great tips here, many thanks. thinners worked great to dissolve the black stuff after chipping of the worst of it. well explained, thank you for taking the time to make this vid mate!
Brilliant tutorial. Got the injector out with lots of penetrating oil and slim jawed waterpump pliers. Made a puller for the copper washer by welding a screw extractor/'easy out' to a long bar and the washer twisted out ok. Possibly a large wood screw welded the same could work
Very informative, I am impressed and I know others will recognise your high standards in your profession. The video was superb and I also liked how you gave great tips towards the end. Thank you very much.
I just bought a 1.6 hdi and the third from the left is barely visible, black death! I need to find someone as handy as yourself up the North coast of NI that does as thorough a job as you, subscribed!!
Like the special bolt tool Dave, carb cleaner certainly melts the clinker, sometimes its like bakelite, did same job on a mini diesel , absolutely covered in it , kept spraying it , andxscraping it over a couple of days , but it came out eventually, recut the seat and edge of injector seats, nice and quiet , great video as usual , had the 2nd jab today , stay safe 👍👍
Good video dave,I changed all the injector seals on my 2006 audi a4 b7 3.0 tdi, copper and rubber ones, everything went great but when I put the leak off pipe back on I snapped one side of the little push down clamp and had to buy a whole new pipe, I thought buying an eBay one would have done the job but it's been leaking diesel ever since, leaking from the crush clamps on the new leak off pipe. not a fast leak, like a few drips every 10 mins but the smells starting to drive me crazy now. Gonna bite the bullet and buy the proper bosch one before mot.
Great video, really interesting and detailed look at this issue. I hear there's another common fault with this engine which is an oil leak to the turbo feed, seems a few issues with this engine 👍
I actually found this quite interesting but i don't have any mechanical experience or tools to do the job.if i did,i think I'd be tempted to give this a go,off the back of your video 👍
This is the best description of how to do and don`t ways to aprouch the job in hand, with clear close up with the camera, and great tips , You certainly are mindful to the viewers that they see what you see and this is how it should be illustrated, Thank you for taking up your time to show this work , Question what is the tool used for pollishing the cylinder
Good video i had the same issue and tightening the bolts seems to have sorted it out at least temporarily this video may be valuable if the problem returns.
Tightening the nuts that clamp down the injector did help mine for a couple of months but the prob will come back. the only way to really cure it is to do what this guy shows in the vid.
Great video Dave. 3 questions: what size was the “wiggle”bolt you used to remove the injectors pls? Looks possibly M12? What was the tool that you used to polish the injector seat (I get that you used a seat cutting set for doing the gentle seat cutting) and what was the pin that you used to block the injector hole into the cylinder while you cleaned the debris out with an air duster?
Hey Dave. How about you make a ring shape that fits over your swivel bar. Then have your slide hammer threaded into the ring to help you thump upwards at the same time. Great vid BTW 😀👍
Hi Dave, I have exactly this issue with this same model car and engine. How much would I be looking at to get it fixed and are there any dangers to leaving it?
Hey, loved your video, followed every stepped and i got rid of "chuffin", could swear that engine is not as loud as before too, but I have new issue, on injector 3 and 4 i have slight diesel leak, have I screwed up something ? :D
Hi There. Is the engine in the video an 8 valve diesel Duratorq engine. My 2013 Ford Fiesta 16l diesel is a Duratorq motor. The egine started making a noise after on of the injectors started over fuelling. Mechanic found that one of the cam journals had scored the cam shaft and recommends that I replace the engine. The pistons are a bit loose in the sleeves but no scoring or ridges. any recommedations
Dave I have chuffing sound but all my injectors have oil around them, When using a listening stepperscope I can`t pin point which one is chuffing, The noisy diesel engine is masking which one is chuffing, May I ask why place microphone around the back if the chuffing comes from the front around the injector? a little confused on that part,
Is this a problem that is inevitable on this engine or are their 1.6 tdcis that will be fine ? I'm currently looking at the next focus, the mk3 1.6 tdci
I've got an oil leak on the camshaft housing above the exhaust manifold, is this a common fault on the 1.6 hdi engine and is it expensive to fix? It's not losing a lot of oil but I'm worried because of oil being around the hot exhaust.

I think i have this issue but there loads of oil burning out the back aswell is that the same case ?
It is very nice to see someone who takes pride in their work and what they do, this isn’t around as much as it should be. And explaining every step in great detail. Brilliant Dave 👍👍
Thanks Peter
Great video - very informative & more detail than we usually see on repairs such as this. Thanks very much for sharing.

methodically brilliant Dave , and well explained, and demonstrated ,....a go to guide for me if I ever would need to do that on my diesel zafira 👍
Thanks Dave, very thorough explanation with clear guide... helped me get my injector from my volvo c30 repaired
That was a master class on how to change the seals, well done. 👍

Thanks heaps for this. My Econetic is doing exactly this on #4. Once the kit arrives from the UK, I know what I’ll be doing :-)
Awesome video. I do most of my own car work but your video makes me glad I decided to pay someone to do that job for me.
Thank you so much for showing how to clean a fuel injector for a ford tdci engine ... helped me a lot with my car and the injector problem and saved me 300 pound on new injectors

Excellent video, very clear & concise 👍🏼👍🏼

Hello from France.
Good job, your tutorial is perfect 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.
Brilliant video !, I enjoyed that and very informative.

Do you need to prime the fuel system again before restarting?
@@markmann9602In my case I didn't, I'd taken off 2 fuel pipes and after re assembly it started ok after a little bit more cranking over than usual.
Very good, professional guide. Thank you!!!
Excellent work 👏👏👏👏👏

fantastic video thank you very much you explain it very well cheers Martin
Great video, well explained, and greats tips thank you
Thanks, that was great. Don't have the right equipment so I'll head to a mechanic; I only hope that I find one half as diligent as yourself.
I just bought a 1.6 hdi and the third from the left is barely visible, black death! I need to find someone as handy as yourself up the North coast of NI that does as thorough a job as you, subscribed!!
A great job and very well explained we need more like you in Ireland thank you Dave
Thank you kindly

Aye Mike, need a bit of patience with these jobs, as you say over a couple of days, don't rush it. My 2nd jab in a couple of weeks. Take care

Hola
great video very informative "there's no way no way you came from my loins" 😉👍
great and useful. Thank you man!
That leaking tar makes a real mess, great job on cleaning it up. The spanner work well getting the snap ring slid down the injector. Cheers Matt
Thanks Matt
Did not even watch it yet, but I know it's gonna be good 😎
Excellent video
Thanks for ur help I've had this problem with 1.6 tdci fiesta and garage men made me buy new injector and now still leaking as it's the seals :)
Wiggle wiggle wiggle and EGR plus WD is the answer. Just took mine out for a new seal kit to go in.

Dobra robota!!
This is how I imagine, if some mechanic will clean my injectors. Job in 120%❤
Top video again Dave. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Video tutorial bagus,nambah wawasan d otomotif bosku👍
I won’t be letting wife watch this. One minute of listening to your accent and I risk loosing her ;)
Do not forget to clean the turbo banjo bolt filter, the black gunge. It will block it and bugger the turbo bearing
I have exactly the same issue! So Dave, did the high pressure lines come off easy? Thinking a bottle brush might help cleaning the bore. Great video!
Can you tell what size is that bolt tool is please, excellent video.
What grease or lubricant did you use to catch the cuttings? Will Molybdenum grease do the job?
sei un grande fantastico complimenti.
Hi Dave, I have exactly this issue with this same model car and engine. How much would I be looking at to get it fixed and are there any dangers to leaving it?
Hello, I am very happy with your work, but he has a question. How do you limp if the car can't start? Thank you
Nice video. I have the same issue. been looking for a bolt. it seems it 1mm pitch x12mm dia.
Great video, great content..It might just help me..👍💯
Hi Dave, i have a stuck injector im trying to get out. What size nut and bolt did you use?
Hey, loved your video, followed every stepped and i got rid of "chuffin", could swear that engine is not as loud as before too, but I have new issue, on injector 3 and 4 i have slight diesel leak, have I screwed up something ? :D

Can a leaky injector cause an underboost problem I’ve already had the egr value changed and it still has an underboost
i had a oil leak problem, it ended up comming from the injector studs. Replace those and put some liquid gasket on the flat side of the stud.
To clean the shaft out, would a gun barrel cleaning rod for a shotgun work?
Is this a problem that is inevitable on this engine or are their 1.6 tdcis that will be fine ? I'm currently looking at the next focus, the mk3 1.6 tdci
