I'm not even planning to get a new GPU, but I love watching the Hardware Unboxed 5700XT reviews.
Would love to see an overall score for all these cards. Like adding up what they got for each of your tests so we can see which card is truly top of the ladder for your reviews!

Again, great vid. I kind of wonder about the direct heat pipe contact as well. A few good cpu heatsinks use this as well and seem to do a really good job. I would guess and this is a guess that a copper plate would act as a heat storage and would slow the effects a bit as the GPU heats and cools while direct contact would give faster direct flow to the heatsink fins but as I said, this is only a guess but it would make a nice video subject. If you could use 2 cooler master 212's and mount a copper base on one and test the difference might work...Something to think about anyway.... Love your vids...

I don't understand why, but performance of mine 5700xt gaming OC is much worse than the card in the video, my temps on average are +15/+20 in the same conditions (same power draw/same core clock/same FAN speed). The only thing that really helps is setting power limit about 150-160w, then I can get similar temperatures. I've disassembled the card and re-applied thermal grease/thermal pads but it's still the same results.

I am still surprised that none of the reviewers have figured out that there is an easy way to judge the power draw of a video card. All you need is a processor with built in graphics, like the 3400 from AMD. Set up the system, run it without a graphics card, check the power draw, then add the graphics card and recheck the power. It will give you a very good look at graphics only power

All AIB partners seem to be having trouble keeping the memory temps down. I can only guess that it's due to GDDR6 being a "flip-chip" design. Plus not having much of a profit margin to work with, forcing them to keep their coolers... spartan.

    If you are lucky...
There are a lot of people complaining about very high junction temperatures with this model. I had one and experienced it myself. What didn't help either was that it caused the ventilators to spin around 1950-2025RPM, and that isn't quiet. 1900RPM wasn't quiet either. No, around 1600RPM is what I would consider quiet with this model. I am sensitive to sound, not everybody needs this level, but still 1900RPM isn't quiet for most people in most cases. Further keeping this card cool with 1600 or even 1700RPM will be a challenge. By that point you will have issues keeping the GPU cool at all. My card was in a Fractal Design R6, hardly a loud case. Exhaust fan is an 140mm Noctua, so the heat does get out. Junction temperature easily went to 100 degrees with my card. Now that is not a critical issue, but there are people who have reported far higher temperatures. It further limits attempts to make this card actually run quiet.
To top it off, the fans themselves are cheap sleeve bearing models. Sapphire, Powercolor and recently MSI all use ball bearing fans. Thanks to crypto miners, we now know that sleeve bearing fans on GPU's have a pretty good chance of dying within three years. They do not have the same operating live as ball bearing models, they degrade if mounted horizontal and they degrade if exposed to heat. Further they degrade in acoustic performance over time, effectively becoming louder. ASUS seems to use the worst fans, even on the ROG Strix models. Those can die within a year if you have no luck at all. Gigabyte its fans aren't that much better.
I got real sick and tired with this model and I since replaced it with a Nitro+ which is actually inaudible, at least 10 degrees Celsius cooler in both GPU junction and edge temperatures. It does that while drawing more power.

Strange how some reviewers have this as one of the coolest for the memory (GN) and then here it's one of the hottest for the memory. I don't know if this is just due to assembly variance or what. Seems like this card has a lot of potential, but sadly overclocking isn't really much of a thing with the 5700xt.

The VRMs and Caps are rated to well over the 80-odd Celsius you see here and even the 90 plus levels, they can take up to 120-125c before they even start to suffer. You want a hot VRM? Got the RX 5700 non-XT variation, and was very happy with it. Ran cool enough, rather quiet, and looks nice IMO. Sent it back for a refund though. Was having serious stuttering issues, that upon investigating online, it seems there's a large number of users having them, not specific to the Gaming OC, but to the RX 5700 series in general. It seems driver-related, as the GPU is deciding it doesn't need to go full throttle during gameplay at times, dropping clocks, sometimes massively, causing stutters. It's been 3 months nice it was released, and hasn't been fixed? Is not a single reviewer bumping into this issue?
