Ken, I stumbled on your channel by accident and after just watching one video I subscribed immediately. I’m an electrical engineer by degree but spent a good part of my younger years in construction building houses and garages too. I want to say Thank You for showcasing your trade to all of us. I am very picky about who I watch. I don’t like folks that talk too much and your commentary is perfect! As a matter of fact I learned something on the first video. I never knew you could hinge the 2nd floor walls with “toe nailing”. That was really cool. We used to scraps on the face to assist with raising 2nd story walls. You make me want to come to Vermont and build with you just to learn more. Thanks Sir. -Tim (Melbourne, Fla.)
What I really like about this video...is the veteran kept his young muscle safe...in this video most times the muscle was on solid and reinforced footing, using the ladder hoist prevented them from using the job as a workout...my veterans were different...in my business it was called job safety...and people get hurt if you trust them to make the best decision for you...the only flaw I saw was the vet letting go of the wall as saying I'm letting go 2 steps away....but he know his staff.
I remember when I built my 12-12 pitch house, mostly by myself, starting the roof sheeting by sending it out between the rafters like your crew does... except it was a windy day and I started to become airborne. I let go just as my feet started to leave the deck... scary! it never occurred to me to put the paper on from the inside too, as I went. Very smart/clever, Ken.
So much knowledge, decades of experience and it shows. Your young crew are very fortunate to learn from such and experienced teacher. Looks great. Take care.
great video, Ken!!! I found amazing the beams you put on the floor... and for sure the whole work is perfect, also you are lucky to have such quality of wood.
Wow, so nice to see someone who clearly cares about his craft, customers and the final product. Wish Ken was here is Alberta. He would be getting a call from me. Build videos are strangely captivating. My sat morning routine, coffee, tidy kitchen, and a few garage vids with Ken. Have a good one Ken.
Beautiful and inspiring work that you do, thank you for sharing your knowledge and abilities, it must be very satisfying once you get everything done. 🙏🙏🙏
I love all of Kens building videos, I always had a interest in learning to build and Ken explains how to do it simply n easily one step at a time, he is a great builder n teacher, and you can tell he is a easy going very great man, Love the videos Ken ! Thank you !
great work!! funny how you would always let them know you were letting go, a good 5 seconds after you had already walked away..lol cracked me up! I would love to move to Vermont and work for you building these things. well done!
Ken, you're the straightest talking guy on the internet. Thorough and in plain, easy to understand terminology. I can't believe the cost of lumber now.
Loved the video and learned a thing or two. Thank you, and I would add, sandwich a 2x4 between the stair stringer and the stud walls to allow for wall finish materials to be installed without notching around the stair treads. The drywallers and finish carpenters would appreciate it.
I like to watch Ken's vids because it proves that an an old dude can out work guys 1/3 his age. Now imagine how fast a garage would go up with fours Kens working on it !!!
I'd love to see a materials list for this one. I think it's the best garage you've built yet. Hope the shoulder is coming along well for you now. Thanks!
This is exactly what i have been looking for 24 x 24 Garage. My House is a 8-12 Pitch so i would most likely be doing the roof that Pitch , Fantastic !!
Nice job Ken. I prefer a garage that has a second story storage / utility space. The homeowners have a beautiful "blank" canvas to create anything they want.
ken you and your Lads do it as it should be done. thats hard to find these days . seen a lot of butchery in the building sector but never seen you once not do it right. great job looking forward to your next video .
I really like this guy , I journeyman carpenter myself I’ve seen a lot of BS videos out there. This guy has it down to a fine art trust his experience and advice
The woodwork looks great. I have some concerns about that concrete edge. Looks like they waited too long to dress the edge and it dried too quick on them. Great video.

Love all that cross bracing in the walls. Well done, Ken.
Thanks
Pour the whole slab with just two of you! I am impressed! That takes bigga bowls!
Man, you rule! =) Exquisite construction.. It's a pleasure watching it grow. Cheers.
I like how you eliminated the ridge with the plywood gusset and metal connector for the rafters. It sure saves a lot of time and cost.
You do Great Work, I enjoy your videos very much. Love how you utilize the Ladder hoist to help carry up the Beams and Plywood.
Thanks
Yes Ken, real nice view the owners have. You’ve added to the beauty with this new garage build. I hope the shoulder surgery recovery is going well! 👍

That hinge, we did that with all our wall's, works great.
I always use liquid nails when I’m screwing in stair treads, just in case, to prevent squeaks
