FAQ's:
Q: The test showed my hard drive to be healthy and none of the other fixes helped :(
A: If the diagnostic test showed your HDD to be healthy and none of the other fixes helped, you would now try to reinstall the operating system. You can see those links here;

You can either create your own Install Media USB as seen there in the videos or you can purchase it. You can see examples of the correct item here in the Repair Tools list: www.amazon.com/shop/pcmonkey
Q: The diagnostic test says my HDD is not installed or it fails :(
A: If the diagnostic test shows the HDD as not installed or if it fails, that means it may be loose or bad. Try 'Reseating' the HDD first as seen here in this video. Try the diagnostic test again. If it fails to change the scan, I would then replace the HDD and install an Operating System to the new one. You can see how to do that here;

Q: I cannot access the diagnostic test and the other steps didnt help.
A: If you cannot access the diagnostic test, then we dont know if your Hard Drive (HDD) is healthy. We can then proceed, assuming it is. If the other steps in this video do not help, I would then try to reinstall the Operating System (OS).

Can you please help me with mine? I have an HP Envy X360 convertible and it was working and all I did was replace the internal main power battery pack because it wouldn't hold a charge to stay running more than 30 minutes. It turns out this model has no separate bios backup battery so I may have messed up the bios by disconnecting the battery. What it does is gets past the HP logo then gets stuck on a black screen with a spinning circle, and eventually I get a mouse pointer I can move from the mouse pad but Windows never loads. I let it run for 12 hours the other day to see if it would eventually come up, but it did not.
Ctrl-Alt-Del are unresponsive so I can't run task manager. I tried a system restore that said it was successful but didn't help the issue, tried doing a Repair Startup Issues from the recovery menu but it says it wasn't able to fix it. I then tried the "Reset this PC" both with saving and not saving user data and both got a little over 50% then said "undoing changes" and ended in a blue screen that said that it could not be reset. I think the issue may be a time/date problem because the year in the bios says 10/18/7967!. I've reset and saved it in the bios several times but every time I try to boot it up, it reverts back to 7967 and the date is one day ahead of the current day. On 10/15, it said 10/16 etc. In the bios, I also tried the "load default settings" option, tried Legacy boot and Secure boot enabled and disabled in all possible combinations.
I tried pulling the main battery back out and started it with no battery installed to see if that was impeding the startup but it does the same thing. I don't know if the bios is corrupted from pulling the battery or if the operating system is corrupted and setting the system to the wrong year. Do they make a bios update or install file that can be done from the command prompt in the recovery menu? As a last resort I'll reformat the hard drive and do a clean install from a bootable USB drive I made with the Windows 10 iso image but then I'd lose my Microsoft Office that came with it. And the case was replaced at Best Buy about a year ago because the hinges broke and they didn't save any of the stickers so I have no serial number or product key. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I tried everything my IT professional friend and I could think of. Thanks
Thanks very much for this video. My son switched his HP Victus laptop off during an update and i couldn't get it to load past the V page. Tried a couple of things on here and the resetting it to a past date worked. All good now. If it wasn't for this I'd have been forced to pay a repair shop God knows how much. Thanks.

Hello. So here’s a new twist on the restart problem: When “Restarting” (not power up rebooting, but the “Restart” option) my HP All in One shows the “Restarting” screen normally, then the screen goes completely blank and will stay that way indefinitely. So after much trial and error, I have found that to get the machine back to life , holding the power button down thereby forcing a power down, and then unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in, will allow a normal power up reboot. Obviously, I would rather not be doing Restarts this way! Any ideas?
Thanks!

Thank you for your assistance. The issue has been resolved. I modified the system configuration by changing the storage device from a hard disk drive (HDD) to a solid-state drive (SSD), which effectively addressed the problem.
Glad your all set :) Always here if needed !!
We added the Samsung 870 EVO SSD to the HP slimline. It had an older bios and was working really great with the new drive, and then we updated the bios. It now is not recognizing the hard drive and won't even take us past the HP logo on startup even if we hit escape or f10. It sounds like HP bios doesn't recognize Samsung hardware and I wonder if you have worked on something like this and know of a way to access the SSD recently installed so that is the one it runs on.
Do you have a video for this kind of issue with a HP Envy photo 7155 printer? I've tried doing all the unplug/replug, removed cartridges, held down the power button while trying to load, while unplugged...and each time when it gets plugged back in it automatically goes right back to the initializing screen (without even pressing the power button)...help please! Thank you!

Hello there
I have a hp pavilion and also have freezing booting circle ⭕️ I’m running windows 11 when I try to repair startup it freezes at attempting repair.. diagnostics showing everything is running ok.
If the diagnostic test showed your HDD to be healthy and none of the other fixes helped, you would now try to reinstall the operating system. You can see those links here;

Hello thank you for your help and support 🎉I have watched several of your videos and tried to repair my HP notebook myself. I have not had any success😢I really do not want to restart my laptop because I didn’t backup my files😢 my business plan and other family memories are on there but the problem that I am experiencing is when my computer starts up, it will go to the desktop screen, and from there it blinks to a black screen. I cannot access any of my files, nor push, the start menu when I push the start button the cruiser just spins I can get on the Internet, but I cannot open up any other files. I was trying to update my computer and it told me that my computer was not healthy enough so I did a reset but I chose to keep my files after I did that reset the computer has not been the same.
If the reset didnt help, I would back up the DATA you dont want to lose and then reset again, this time choosing the 'erase everything' option or a new install of Windows. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
@@PC_Monkey Hello thank you for responding!!! I’m am not computer savvy therefore I don’t know how to back it up. Is there a way to transfer my data? I continue to troubleshoot using your methods, So I took out everything that was plugged into it, the mouse adapter I had a SD card inside, and I even took the hard drive off the back. Now that I have done that the system try to boot up but it appears to be stuck. I don’t think I’m explaining quite well.😩🤷🏽♀️ what I’m trying to say the system will try to boot up normally and then it will freeze and go back to that black screen. I am going to send a video.

Hey! I have a HP 15 datuxxx version laptop. There's this thing which keeps happening where the laptop is working completely fine and after some minutes, the system freezes, which, after a couple of minutes says your window needs to restart :( What should i do? Please help
1. Most likely an operating system error. Can you fully update first of all as seen here? czcams.com/video/kX8bB725Ljw/video.html
2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
hi, not sure if you encountered this error , i got a HP 256 6g notebook, installed a ssd with win 11 from previous machine, it doesnt boot but gets frozen, when i put the original HDD back it boots up normal, the bios shows win 10 install, have you come across something like this
Have you tried installing the Operating System new to the SSD?
my issue is a little different. my HP takes me to my normal Microsoft login, it accepts my password and moves me to the set pin screen, but once I go through that I loop back to the sign in screen all over again. I've tried to do a full system reset and diagnostic tests and nothing has worked. initially it told me my Microsoft account didn't exist but I set it up again and then it accepted the new password. any thoughts? thanks for your help!
I have the SAME issue!! Plz help.
I have an hp prodesk 400 g3 mt and when i start it, i won't show display until i press enter in my keyboard and when i restart the pc, It isn't restarting just closing the display, I can't even change windows or update or reset windows
The product name for my laptop is an HP laptop 15-dw0xxx. For some reason, when I turn on my laptop, there's a blue and white screen and it has a lot of numbers and letters. Then there is a rectangle and inside the rectangle it says "save changes and exit? " and on the bottom of the rectangle it says yes or no. And there's this terrible beeping noise when I turn on the computer. I'm very worried and I don't know what to do. Thank you so much, my dad got me this computer when I was 9 and I am 11 now. I deeply appreciate it!
Damn totally same
Hi, I like the way you explain things. I have an old HP Pavilion dv6 and I wanted to upgrade it from Windows 7 to Windows 10 32 bit (2Gb RAM). I prepared an installation on the USB key with Rufus tool and I started the installation. everything was fine until the restart. It stops at the logo and I cannot access BIOS. it freezes and will not react to F10 or ESC. What are my options?
Personally, I dont try installing Win10 onto Win7 machines anymore. Most of the time, they run very poorly with Win10. Can you run the diagnostic scan as seen here just to confirm the HDD is healthy? The heavy install may have pushed it over the edge
@@GiveandGain01 1. I assume this happens at startup? Can you see anything on the screen during this?
2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
Dv7 6c95dx dead. Not battery or charger.after sitting a month came on. With new battery and test hard drive dead again.tried start button hold ng.what, are other possibilities?
I dont understand. You tested the HDD dead again? Were you able to run the diagnostic scan? If so, what was the result?
Thankyou - followed your tutorial. Tested System diagnostic: SMART Check : Passed. however; Short DST: Failed. Any help?
Have you tried reseating the HDD as seen here? Does it still fail the Short DST?
Hello, If I am not able to select the diagnostic options of the option, could that be the hardriver? Because the mouse and keyboard arrows aren’t doing anything when I want to run the hardriver test reading or bios setting, the mouse or arrows are not working
If your mouse or keyboard is not working, then no, that usually is not an issue with the HDD. Is your computer frozen? On which screen is it frozen? Can you use an external mouse or keyboard?
@@PC_Monkey the computer froze and I unplugged it from the power source hence the battery is dead and only works when plugged. I didn’t plug it back immediately, so I did probably after 4 hours and that’s how it started with preparing automatic repairs but after loading it just turns off, when trying your steps it doesn’t want to select or it does and it start freezing again even after I’ve reseated the hard drive.
Hello, I don't know if you can get this. But I have a HP laptop, and at first after the "diagnosing your computer", it took me to a setup screen which I tried a command prompt I saw on youtube, then I restarted it.
I thought it should be fixed, but since then, all I am getting is
- automatic repair
- blue screen
- then forever stuck at "diagnosing your PC"
Is there any way out again?
1. Are you able to try the auto repair options? Can you find any Repair or Recovery options in BIOS?
2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Overheating, liquid spill, Windows update, etc?
Unplugging all the external things worked for me! Thank huh so much!
Great to hear !! Always here to help :):)
Just one question last night i did a update and after i turned off my pc and now i have this prob so is there a solution to remove the update that i did with only boot menu ??
Yes. On many versions of BIOS, there should be an option to Uninstall Last Update. Can you find that in your BIOS? Also, is your computer an HP?
Thanks for the help. I've done the F2/Smart Check... it did say "Passed". But when looking at "Short DST" is says Not Available. What does that really mean? Does it really mean it's just not accessing the hard drive at all?
Edit: Okay you answered my question later on in the video, so thanks again for your thorough demonstrations and simple-to-undestand-explanation as to what we're really doing. For the life of me, I cannot physically open the bottom part of my laptop to reseat it and I have a whole bunch of screwdrivers of all sizes. None of them work at all. The local tech guy said it is definitely a hard drive issue and needs to be replaced. Yet I don't want to do that when I'm right in the middle of a project. He needs my laptop even while waiting for that part to be shipped to us here. And so far, I've uploaded most of my most important files on multiple cloud-storage... and I foresee the inevitable re-installing to Windows 10. Thanks for the links as well. I think it's only a quick fix though. My laptop has been giving me this same problem since last year and cannot handle Windows 11. I scanned it first and it stated that it is not able to upgrade to even 11. This issue of "Your computer ran into a problem" has been happening several times now. I am able to continue where I left off after I did the diagnostic and reboot... but still keep running into this same problem. I do hope the majority of others are able to resolve it once and for all.
Yes, sounds like the HDD needs to be replaced. You can also send out the old HDD to a company that does DATA recovery and can usually get DATA off HDDs even if they 'go bad'. Would you like help with the replacement or the DATA recovery?
@@PC_Monkey Yes, please! I need to make use of this situation as much as possible. Thanks so much for your reply back. I really appreciate it.
You are amazing! Thank you so much for the help. I am one of the people who's computer tries to boost with my keyboard usb. Wondering if you have a video on how to reorder the boot order list?
I answered your other comment. Glad this helped the computer to boot up at least :)

2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
good morning Jamie i 'm trying everything on my computer following you along but my computer won't corporate when i go to BIOS i fixed the time and saved it then open it again and the time is already different again so i can't figured out help Please
If the Date/Time does not stay correct and changes every time you turn the computer off, thats a sign that BIOS may be losing power and losing its settings. I would try replacing the CMOS battery if that is the case. You can see how to access that component here at 9:10: czcams.com/video/kOBY4k2Mn_k/video.html. If you need help accessing it on your specific computer, please reply with the brand and model.

I did a system reset so I could give my old hp laptop to my daughter. It’s doing the reset loop with flickers or updates but then restarts and it did it for hours. I did the esc and all diagnostics came back as passes. I can’t get to the page that would allow me to check time and date. Bios won’t let me update or rollback I keep getting error codes. It says to update on some website but I can’t get to it with my computer not even booting up
Sometimes a reset will fail and then the operating system will be too messed up for another attempt. In that case, you would have to install new instead of resetting;

I have an HP Stream 14-ds0013dx that is stuck in its own loop. You turn it on and it shows the HP grey logo, the one that's like a splash screen that's default set to show if it's not manually turned off in the BIOS settings. Then it suddenly turns itself back off and back on like it's just constantly restarting itself. "Stuck in the boot loop". I'm really praying you'll be able to get back to me and help resolve this issue pretty soon. I look forward to your reply....

For me I accidentally shut off my hp compute while it was resetting, I believe that might've interrupted it so now when I try to turn it on it gets stuck in a boot loop and I don't know what to do with it now. I also tried the steps you showed here, the results said it passed the HDD test, memory check and startup check, but it still stuck in the loop

I've got an older HP laptop, windows 10 that is showing a failed endpoint security controller during BIOS update, then tries to restart and is looping. Hi, I have this old laptop(samsung np300e) and it is in boot loop. It happened after failed attempt to install windows 10 to the laptop. The problem is that I can't even enter to Bios or any other menus to check what's happening or try to install OS. I changed cmos battery hoping it was the problem but unfortunately it wasn't. Does it mean my hard drive is already dead?
1. Was the computer working well before this attempted install? If not, what was happening?
2. What are you able to see on the screen when trying to start it now?
@@PC_Monkey 1. Yep everything was ok. Some times date and time reset automatically when I boot the laptop. That aside, there were no other issues

2. An overheating computer can be damaging multiple different components if not resolved. First, make sure that the fan and vents are clean and clear. If you need help accessing the fan, let me know what brand and model computer you have and I can help you get inside it. If that does not fix the overheating issue, then try replacing the thermal paste on the CPU and if needed, the GPU as seen here; czcams.com/video/K_j4GPjpawk/video.html. Dear @PC_Monkey,
how about HP laptop that is stuck at the HP logo and when trying entering the menu (system diagnostics etc.) it gets stuck showing "Entering System Diagnostics".
Or in other words:

Kind regards from Germany
It freezes before you can run the diagnostic test? Bummer :( Can you enter BIOS and try the steps seen there? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
@@PC_Monkeyit freezes when turning on at showing HP Logo. Then, when I try to hit "ESC" or F10 or F2 or F6, at the lower left it says for example "Entering System Diagnostics" but then nothing happens. It does not proceed. So I cannot enter BIOS. And there might have been an update before, but I am not sure.
I just tried to take out the SSD and when I did that, I can enter BIOS. So I believe my SSD is "done"? 😐
Hi! I hope you're still reading these comments. I've got a particularly weird one. I have a HP Pavillion Laptop running Windows 10, and for whatever reason it freezes at the HP screen after a short bit of loading, UNLESS I go into BIOS, do nothing (just hang around for a bit), and then exit BIOS, then it boots normally. It also freezes sometimes after waking up from sleep, forcing me to do a hard power off / power on -> go into BIOS -> then it boots normally. I've tried
- Checkdisk
- Entering recovery mode and attempting to repair the bootloader
- Reinstalling windows 10 by various methods multiple times (The most reinstall failed because it encountered an error during boot, the irony)
And nothing so far has fixed it. Do you have any clue what's going on?
