Have you all kept a washer/dryer record? I bet you could purchase a used washer/dryer and save lots of money, time, and stress! Used washer and dryers last a long time. Could you install in bathroom of the tiny house? I know from experience, they are LOTS cheaper than a laundromat!
No, we don't keep a record.
It's like $15-$20 a week.
We can do 1 weeks worth of laundry in 1 hr. It would take us doing a load EVERYDAY... We like the laundry mat

Last year I needed my heater fixed. They put in a fuse and charged me $250. I asked them to check my AC unit. I watched him walk outside, stand there and look at it and that was the extent of what he did. I now have a window unit that is working hard to keep up with the 100 plus degrees.

Great job. I live in MI with my kitty. My house was over 95+ inside & my kitty panted trying to cool off. I took a cold can of pop & she wrapped herself around it to cool down while licking the condensation off the can until she was cooler. It was funny to watch but it worked. I hate to see them suffer. She was not happy to have a fan blow on her. It made her jump as it rotated.
Glad it was fixable & you could use your knowledge for good. Praise the Lord!

Family of Fords with 100,000+ miles and no major issues. Chevy's are the vehicles that have MAJOR issues at 60,000+ miles. Husband a mechanic and wouldn't let us own a Chevy because they made our house payment, he worked on 85% Chevy's

Mike I used to work for ETL which is a competitor of UL. I ran all kinds of A/C units and Heat Pumps through my test facility for making sure they met the advertised DOE label requirements. One thing they never taught us was how to fix anything that came in broken. We could check the refrigeration pressures, as most came with none. But many manufacturers, including Carrier, would send us the wrong information, causing the units to fail. My one facility failed more units than it passed, because I refused to use a pencil....lol
That's wild! Units have really come a long way in the last 30 years

My journey has been 14yrs in hvac...before 31yrs in aviation fabrication...then 10yrs doing vending at VFW's and Wounded Warrier events.
It's been a long road with nearly 30yrs of RV living.
I've diagnosed my own...start with capacitor and fuse checks...rv a/c is just like a window unit with half inside and main part on the roof.

No it's not being part of a Ford owner. lol It's possible previous maintence, repairs or parts just get worn out and need replaced. That's with any and all brands. With the campers, which we are getting one to start our adventure soon, we will be installing a mini split.

That guys compressor coils were filthy. Spray coil cleaner on it and hose it down. Spray out all those leaves while he's at it. Good working the basics of getting both running. junky. A/c is janky.
