MSNBC ain't that much better, but at least they don't use one individuals story as complete proof of any stupid opinion they want to espouse about an entire country.

@Donald Smith well the best times in Venezuela were between 1953 and 1958 until the progressives like Democratic Action and Copei overthrown President Perez Jimenez
@Donald Smith at least during that Military Dictatorship there weren't slums and that Dictator built a lot of economic housing for low class venezuelans
@Donald Hariot If your talking about Perez Jimenez, he is kind of a folk hero in Venezuela nowadays. My family would tell me about how they could leave their cars unlocked on the street because the smallest crime was punished by the Perez Jimenez Regime which made it unappealing to commit crimes. Because of Perez Jimenez Venezuela rose to be one of the richest countries in the world, everything good we have is because of him. I'd gladly live under Perez. Chavez and Masburro on the other hand are the opposite. Yes, both locked up and killed Journalists, one way more than the other (Chavez and Maduro). Now Venezuela is suffering a genocide because of Maduro's opposition to foreign aid (He only accepts it if it comes from Russia, China or Iran. And still non of it goes to the people). Believe it or not most of the Venezuelan populace supports the sanctions because it is seen as a way to get the genocidal dictatorship which uses deathsquads and hunger to bring the population to it's knees. Oh and by genocide, it's more like the Holodomor than the holocaust.
Yes. it is. Hundreds dead since Duque came to power after our last scumbag leader Alvaro Uribe. every week there are political killings by the right wing paramilitaries. Peace deal destroyed. whole swaths of the country literally FORGOTTEN by the government. no running water or electricity in places like Choco and La Guajira. so yea. IT IS WORSE. TELESUR is a Latin American television network headquartered in Caracas, Venezuela and sponsored primarily by the government of Venezuela, with additional funding from the governments of Cuba and Nicaragua. The founder of TELESUR was Aram Aharonian, a journalist and scholar who left Uruguay due to alleged right-wing pressure. According to Aram Aharonian, the founder of TELESUR who was removed from the network in December 2008 by former Venezuelan Minister of Popular Power for Communication and Information Andres Izarra (CHAVISTA), Chávez "took the reins" of TELESUR and used "propaganda as rolling news". I guess America ought to go in there with military force and liberate those poor people, and in the process "it'll make a big difference to the United States economically if we could have America oil companies, really, invest in and produce the oil capabilities in Venezuela" - John Bolton Fox Business January 2019
@Kostas anagno A Communist totalitarian with Democratic presidential election. Not to mention that much of what Maduro has done is supported by the Constitution.
@Kostas anagno I believe what I see and the fact is that leaders of the opposition are allowed to participate in election, yet are actively disincentivized by the American government to give the illusion of totalitarianism
@Kostas anagno One of the major reason for the massive inflation is big companies smuggling products and money over the border and then trading outside Venezuela. You also can't forget the inhumane sanctions the US has put on Venezuela. These big businesses and business owners are protesting social progress because that means they make less profits for themselves, even though they're already billionaires and could finance the survival of hundreds of their own generations to come.
@Kostas anagno They're not gonna "lose everything", they've existed for quite a bit of time under "socialist" rule. What they're doing is just exhaserbating the impacts of a crisis that already is pretty heavy to get back to way things were pre-Chavez, get rid of all the social process and bring back the ruling class. I'm sure the people are gonna feel very free under that rule. One thing you also shouldn't forgery this is still a ploy for America to get the oil.

The price of oil is manipulated by the United States and its Saudi friends. Where Maduro failed was in not reacting fast enough when the sanctions hit. Russia & China had to bail them out and Venezuela just shipped tons of gold to Russia just to pay back its debt.
That's the same narrative being persued by the brazilian left, which have blood spilled on their hands for this venezuelan abyss. Just so you can see the patern.
For the record, Norway has nationalized oil and the people benefit a lot from it. they use the money to pay off their dept and fund all their social programs. Privatizing oil just makes it so the corporations make all the money and the only way people benefit economically is through the jobs created. Venezuela is suffering a LOT more factors (such as the trade Boycot and all of the Embargos placed by the Americans and the World Bank) than it is from Nationalized oil.

She's not insane you just don't agree with reality, just imagine without all US sanctions, meddling, how would Venezuela be currently? the reason they the US doesn't want Venezuela is because they don't bow down to the US, you think the US wants a strong Venezuelan economy/ military that's allied with Russia in this hemisphere? American sanctions on Venezuela were AFTER the main crisis hit their country (2014-2016). Since 2016, the US has imposed sanctions over individual people linked to the government, and not until 2019, they were imposed to Venezuelan companies (especially, PDVSA, the oil producer firm). So NO, America is NOT to blame for what has been their terrible economic situation.

As a Colombian I must clear something out, our inequality isn't anything new first of all, almost all latin american countries that haven't had a progressive left leaning government in role (such as the ones that Brasil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico have had), DO have a big gap between the middlish/high class and the absolute poor. However what we DO HAVE that is worst than Venezuela is the assassination of environmental activists, it is an ongoing thing so she's on point there, but economically we aren't struggling with their overwhelming inflation. In fact, even the insecurity she talks about isn't something to say "the entire country is devastated", at least if you visit Colombia as a tourist close to nothing will happen to you in the major cities that's what I'm trying to say. All of these events happen with farmers who the military want to showcase as terrorist victories so they get murdered and ex-left wing guerrilla's who even though they've signed peace treaties in the past the scumbag far right parties hate them and send rural hitmen to eliminate them, but I just felt the need to clear that, in Colombia we aren't necessarily experiencing a "worst" situation than Venezuela, we have problems of our own....terrible, inhumane, disgusting, but the overall it HAS to be worst there than here.
I've traveled through Colombia, came through the San Blas islands on the Kuna Yala supply boats entered at Capurgana, then a lancha to Turbo...a bit along the Caribbean coast Cartegena etc then Cali, didn't go to Bogota and then into Ecuador. Big Teddy Bear u think after invasion it will became a better place to live?))) look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya)) After American invasion this countries are definitely heaven on earth))
I'm coming from a completely unbiased perspective. - Venezuelan oil prices were already declining mid 2014. - the first sanctions on individuals was in 2008, but then another March 2015. - the first sanctions on any industries was in 2017 (from what I can tell wasn't that hard of a blow; they restricted trading of Venezuelan bonds sold by government in American financial markets to raise money. Which increased the likelihood of a Venezuelan default on it's debts at the end of that year because of continued problems raising money to pay interests on it's onerous debts while paying for food imports) - since 2006 US officials have expressed concerns about Venezuelas lack of cooperation on anti terrorism efforts. - in 2014, Congress enacted the Venezuela defense of human rights and civil society act of 2014. Among it's provisions, the law requires the president to impose sanctions against those whom the president determines are responsible for significant acts of violence or serious human rights abuse. - in 2015 Obama imposed sanctions on 7 individuals involved or responsible for the erosion of human rights guarantees, persecution of political opponents, curtailment of press freedoms, use of violence and human rights violations and abuses in response to anti-government protests, and arbitrary arrest and detention of anti-government protestors, as well as the significant public corruption by senior government officials. - the Venezuelan Bolivar value didn't start to drop until mid to late 2017. - Guaidó helped found the Popular Will party in 2009. Which is the party he was appointed by to become president. All this evidence, to me at least, indicates that the Venezuelan economy was already dying and the market truly reflected that closer to 2017. And that this lady is lying, which is odd to me. I may be misinterpreting this information so I'd be happy to hear any additional facts

@Donald Smith Once the downfall began, its a snow ball effect, the rich people and corporations then start lobbying the US government and others to put pressure to the Venezuelan government and that of course makes everything worst for everybody. The rich, for the most part just moved to other countries, here in Panamá for instance, our economy grew a lot thanks to the money Venezuelan's poured into our economy, creating enterprises, buying properties, etc... They are now producing in Panamá what the regime stole from them in Venezuela.
@Donald Smith Its funny that socialist regimes want to have their cake and eat it too. The want to expropriate global corporation while at the same time wanting to participate in the global market... Funny how, despite having open business relationship with China, Russia, and the rest of its allies, Venezuela's economy is still garbage... Do they need to participate in the capitalist system after all? Petroleum production has fallen largely because most of the petroleum engineers left Venezuela as well as the technical resources needed to operate the plants to full capacity. LOL, they say to tell the US: Get of my lawn now! but BTW, those parts to get my oil rigs operational, I will need those :D.
@Donald Smith Do I really have to say that by all accounts Maduro has stolen the elections?, the popularity of Maduro in Venezuela close to 20%, he is at the point (like all dictators) where he is mostly interested on staying in power to preserve his and his family life more than anything, he is not going to give away his power, as what's coming for him and his loved ones is nothing but suffering if he is deposed. Most of the private sector you are talking about is composed by medium and small business, corporations (with all of their sins) are still necessary for a growing economy and they are mostly gone. Venezuela has lost about 3 million people in the last 5 years, the 3 million that had money and talent to start anew abroad, the people that's actually needed to run the country.

As a Venezuelan, who was born and raised there I can say from lived experienced that all we have is a thinly vailed dictatorship. It was shocking to hear someone be an apologist for this regime. The middle class was reduced so extremely to the point that you mainly have an ectremely large population under the poverty line and a small amount of rich people. While yes Chavez appealed to the poor people at the beginning he kickly let them down; Maduro was never truly elected by the people, the amount of shady things happening during the time of the election was insane, he was essentially 'chosen' by they say Chavez to be the next president - all the while Chavez had died from cancer wayyyy before they admited to it or brought Maduro to be a 'candidate' I saw so much extreme hunger and poverty. I remember going to supermarkets that were essentially were empty, i remember lacking food more than I remember having food as a child. Venezuela has been and still it in need of help. The 'houses' that were being given away by both Maduro and Chavez were tiny and hardly ever delivered upon, they also came with the expectation of continued support from the poor. These 'houses' on the rare ocations that they were given were given to people who essengially had only even know lives in shantytowns. There were some in ghe town I lived in and all of the buildings had a painging of the president's eys looking over the soace along with Chavez's signature. The amounts of gangs running rampant was insane. The church I went to was mostly left alone, even when going into sketchy neighbourhoods to pick children up for Sunday school because they looked after the children and fed them (for most of those children that would be their only meal that day) The violence and gangs armed to the nines was insane, I remember there were so many times waiting at a traffic light with my mum on the way home from school that 2 people in a motorcycle with a gun would pull up beside you and rob you. I could say so much more.... it's just so sad to hear someone spreading such a lie on such a big platform. I still love and miss Venezuela.
Joe needs to start his own Travel Channel too. Maybe not always him but he knows war journalists and other crazy fucks who will take $ to go anywhere and ask anyone anything.
What is her lie? She may have a biased perspective but she’s certainly not wrong. Look up the facts. The US population is being entirely brainwashed over what the US military ACTUALLY does abroad in countries like Venezuela.
Look up the videos of the 1000s protesting the illegal attempts at a coup. Also, look up how much of the population Guaido represents. The opposition usually hovers around 15% support the last couple decades. More than half that opposition has denounced these coup attempts and refuse to participate. Guaido's 5% support, for an uber rich, white, racist super minority, gets amplified online. They're using paid accounts and bots. Do some research, and listen to actual Venezuelans inside Venezuela. The dark ones. The majority.
@@zakichoudhary507 Erm no , I'm actually a venezuelan and most of the ppl that live here support Guaido so idk where you're getting that information from.
The problem with these issues is that people have a hard time understanding that two thing can be true at the same time. The US has and currently does aid in regime change. HOWEVER, in the case of Venezuela, it is also true that the Chavista economic machine has absolutely obliterated the country regardless of the impact of the sanctions. Millions of people don't flee to Colombia over trade blockades. The national economy has rotted out from the inside by Chavez and Maduro. Sure, the US has done shady shit to try and move the needle but that doesn't make the Maduro economic regime some unrealized success. Exactly the opposite.

They want the oil.

True, but Venezuela is struggling because of unnecessary sanctions. End them and both countries benefit enormously.
I've traveled through Colombia, came through the San Blas islands on the Kuna Yala supply boats entered at Capurgana, then a lancha to Turbo...a bit along the Caribbean coast Cartegena etc then Cali, didn't go to Bogota and then into Ecuador. Define free. Does Venezuela have a secret island base where they torture "terrorists"?
@Luigi DeNardis lol
AB Jensen Does Venezuela gerrymanders congressional districts? Or does the Venezuelan government bans Black people to vote?
I'm coming from a completely unbiased perspective.
- Venezuelan oil prices were already declining mid 2014.
- the first sanctions on individuals was in 2008, but then another March 2015.
- the first sanctions on any industries was in 2017 (from what I can tell wasn't that hard of a blow; they restricted trading of Venezuelan bonds sold by government in American financial markets to raise money. Which increased the likelihood of a Venezuelan default on it's debts at the end of that year because of continued problems raising money to pay interests on it's onerous debts while paying for food imports)
- since 2006 US officials have expressed concerns about Venezuelas lack of cooperation on anti terrorism efforts.

@Donald Smith Wrong you are, a big part of why the economy went south (literally) is because rich people left, with their money for the most part.
The internet gives people with 25% of the facts a platform to tell people that their little knowledge is representative of the whole story

Nii it is called the socialism of the 21th century... It is a virus designed y KGB labs and conducted by Cuba
Thank-you
Wasn't one of the opponents arrested for not stepping down?
did i just hear her say "Venezuela is not a socialist country" lol
Direly well I mean they still have a private health care system, and more people work in the private sector comparable to France so yeah
tell us everything you know about socialism dip shit. I have a couple seconds.
[Bracks ] Can I read the same sources your reading about this?
Not real socialist lol
Republicans don't know what socialism is, They believe anybody that dont agree with them are socialist.
I can't wait for the many CZcamsrs to destroy this women's craziness.
@Donald Smith troll! You know nothing
Donald Smith millions live in Venezuela, and millions are starving. Thousands are dying at an unprecedented rate. Do you deny that there is a humanitarian crisis? And what the fuck are you implying by saying afro descendants supporting Maduro? There’s millions more Afro descendants that want Maduro dead so idk what the fuck you’re talking about. The overwhelming majority who support the government WORK for the government you idiot. Explain why over 85% of Venezuelans disapprove of Maduro. What’s your answer? “tHoSE aRe MadE uP nUmbErs” rofl

It's been a year, link it to me.
While yes Chavez appealed to the poor people at the beginning he kickly let them down; Maduro was never truly elected by the people, the amount of shady things happening during the time of the election was insane, he was essentially 'chosen' by they say Chavez to be the next president - all the while Chavez had died from cancer wayyyy before they admited to it or brought Maduro to be a 'candidate'
I saw so much extreme hunger and poverty.
The church I went to was mostly left alone, even when going into sketchy neighbourhoods to pick children up for Sunday school because they looked after the children and fed them (for most of those children that would be their only meal that day)
The violence and gangs armed to the nines was insane, I remember there were so many times waiting at a traffic light with my mum on the way home from school that 2 people in a motorcycle with a gun would pull up beside you and rob you.
I could say so much more.... it's just so sad to hear someone spreading such a lie on such a big platform.
I still love and miss Venezuela.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm I hear you
..... but I take it with a shovel of salt
I wish Joe had as much general knowledge about these things as he does about pot so he could call out her BS...
pls list the bs troll
Joe needs to start his own Travel Channel too. Maybe not always him but he knows war journalists and other crazy fucks who will take $ to go anywhere and ask anyone anything.
What is she lying about?
Exactly!!!
She’s good when no one can contradict her...
What is her lie? She may have a biased perspective but she’s certainly not wrong. Look up the facts. The US population is being entirely brainwashed over what the US military ACTUALLY does abroad in countries like Venezuela.
I see a lot of Venezuelans saying she's completely wrong. Believe a politician or a Venezuelan? HA
I were in Venezuelafor several years and I found this disrespectful. This woman doesn't know what she's talking about. She is really lost. The worst part is that she thinks and seems that what she's saying is true but it's not. This is one of those things you have to feel and see by your own before talk. Things are not that simple
I might remind Joe of the US diplomats at the embassy being attacked, as the reason for the travel ban.
And to act like travel to Cuba being stopped being unusual...we only had it for what, 2 years prior?
A free people will insist on the freedom to travel as they see fit.
Just don’t come crying to Papa Bear when stuff goes haywire.
TLDW: "It's true people of Venezuela are dying and eating zoo animals and their streets are littered with inflated worthless currency.... but Socialism is not at fault as per usual"
It's not zoo animals.
Its "bush meat"
People in rural parts of Alabama are living in open sewage and getting hookworm... but America's crony capitalism is not at fault, as per usual.
Lol American interference and sanctions are the issue, didn’t see you mention that. America is a shit hole where children are slaughtered by virgin men like yourself.
@@hardunkichud98 yeah but in Venezuela it's the whole country not just a couple shoddy areas in Alabama.

JRE needs quality control.
She should move to Venezuela and live as a Venezuelan national, not as a tourist or sponsored by Maduro's government .
She should try to make a living over there without any privilege .
Don t worry when she s in venezuela she s in the same five stars hotel as venezuelans expats that are plumber in the US but leaving the grand life back in Venezuela exchanging dollars on the black market...The same that are pro Guaido... Like you.
The poorest people in Venezuela are actualy chavistas at 90%... You know that s true.
The poorest people eat in the garbage mostly because of Us sanctions... Of course Maduro is to blame too, but actually Chavez is more to blame. And the venezuelan people entirely is too blame!!! But Abby is about 80% right I d say!
