I've been a mechanic for over 40 years. Don't waste your time and money on those arctic cat 580's. There junk.. piston failures to the end of the world. Oh that 98 xc 700.. what a gem. That's a keeper forever. Did I say that xc 700... 😊 Polaris twins foever. Love that you run a old square body.
Take it from a guy that never owned a ski-doo. But happened upon a Good Deal on a 97 MHZ 583. Same thing under the hood round slide carbs, most everything the same. This ski-doo has the rotary valve. Other than that, same tech different packaging.
I have 6 that run. A few need work lol. Some part chassis are worth having. I rather buy a whole cheap parts sled than buy part here and there and end up paying more than just buying an entire chassis
@@MidnightPolaris800 the 88’ Indy 400 sks runs. The cutlass runs. Indy trail just needs a carb cleaned and she runs. 700 runs minty The 2 xcrs are the most work I have to put into. The ext just needs the carbs refixed and she runs. And the xc 400 ran when I bought it but unfortunately the motor blew. I have drove that sled before she blew. The Yamaha SX runs as well. Just don’t want it anymore. The 2 old Yamahas I got them because there chassis are a few hundred alone how they sit and refixed there almost $3k each lol. The 97’ zr580 I only got that for a parts machine for my ext. 75% if the sleds run. Some need a little more tinkering than others but that’s the joy of doing them. I could care less how much work I need to put into them. I know I can sell parts off them more than I got them for lol
@@MidnightPolaris800 worked in the Indy trail I just got for $125…. Has over 145 each cylinder. She’ll be ready to fly after a drain of the tank and a carb clean
@@BraidenSlagle I also count project sleds as sleds, but the minute they're labeled as a parts sled, they're off the count and not part of "the collection."

I love my xc 700. She will never be sold some out the other xc.
I only got the cats because they came with deals I couldn’t refuse 🤣

Wow, that’s good to know. Maybe 1 day I might see about getting one
Snow on the way , make some riding videos
Sure will!
You still got those two XCR 600?
I sold my 96’ xcr 600 to my uncle so yes and no.
I also picked up a xcr 440 so we still got some sleds
Maybe concentrate on having 2 nice running and driving sleds? Ones with no engines or needing everything replaced dont count as sleds man 😂

@BraidenSlagle dude all you sleds need serious work except that 98 xc 700...there's a reason your getting what you pay for when they're 100 or 200$

If you don't have too many projects, you don't have enough!!
Exactly!!! Always gotta get more
