I remember being young and dumb, playing the sims 2 and constantly starting new games and crying that all of my five sims died in first week. This is what it reminds me of, such a touch of nostalgia.
The chickens are very useful when max friendship and very happy. They give you golden eggs. You want the hatchable eggs. The golden chickens make your plants all highest level. Plant a few dragon fruit if you have golden chicks and never have to work again.
Also the non hatchable egg you can make a meal with it that gives you golden chick powers. Chickens are op when used correctly.
Same with the golden milk. I always buy it when it appears at the market stall during the Finchwick fair and evolve all my plants to perfect. You can use this power on your lower quality nectar bottles as well. 😄😜
But to get the golden stuff, we need a specific animal treat, don’t we? Or is high friendship enough?
@@refiaatmaca3008 no that's the great thing about it. I have never learned the golden treat without cheating, but always have golden chickens. You need max relationship and it has to be very happy everyday. It takes awhile though it doesn't happen over night in the sims game. I think the fastest I've got a golden eggs is 2 weeks in game. I usually start with 1 black hen and 1 rooster so it's easy to keep them happy and build the relationship fast without being overwhelmed.

By the way Satch, you don't need to travel to the horse training park to train your horses -- there's literally some jumping obstacles and barrels right beside your own lot (to the right) 😅
This, and also, you don't have to go all the way to the equestrian center to enter competitions - you can buy a ranch community board and place it on the lot. You can enter competitions through the board.

Thank you for continuing to be honest about the gameplay -- there is very little to do if you don't incorporate other packs.
Satch, you need to store the electricity when you click the bills, not have it on the sell option. Hope this fixes things and helps you get back off the grid. As you’re selling it, and not storing , it will be why it wasn’t working. Love these letsplays!

not JUST that, but he also needs to toggle his off the grid appliances to work off the grid, otherwise the fridge, stove and everything else is going to eat up all that power the second he starts generating a surplus.

You should get the scarecrow! If you're friendly enough with him, he'll help you with gardening and cleaning up. I didnt even know he literally walks around, gave me the creeps the first time I saw it but now hes hilarious.

I know horse ranch alone could never and you are having to add your own drama and several other packs, but I find I wake up and look forward to a new episode to see what fun the sisters get up to today! To reap the benefits of Off The Grid, you have to click on individual objects and select “turn on/off utility usage.” I *think* it used to automatically turn usage off with the lot trait enabled…maybe that was changed with the update? But yeah, you have to go through everything and toggle usage.
Also, highly recommend furnishing with as many “Off The Grid” objects from the specific build menu section as possible. Switching to candles only is a big help.
I use off the grid for almost every lot. Lights use a lot of power so it's easiest to use candles wherever you can. Wind turbines make more energy than the solar panels and solar panels make less energy in the winter. Also the natural well lot trait helps a lot with water usage.
about the plants I have this issue all the tme - sometimes just going into build mode will reset my plants, or playing with another household and coming back to my current one
The only solution I found is to hold shift + click on your plant and set it back to its latest growth stage
Off the Grid: under the "show bill info" you need to set both water and electricity to store rather than sell, otherwise it'll just give you a bill discount.

FYI: if your horse has the free spirit trait they will not sleep indoors. You need to put their bed outside.

Foals (pr. fole) and ponies are not synonymous. Foals are babies, ponies are smaller breeds of horses.
I adopted two rescue foals (a colt and a filly) and raised them to be a breeding pair. I liked the challenge of the rescues. Their foals were all pretty bad themselves. My stallion was a grand champion and my mare was a pretty good competitor in her own right. I sold most of the foals and it was very sad watching them walk to the front of the lot on their wobbly legs, dazed and crying the whole time.
Sims 4's food has calorie count. I've had two 100 baby mams that ate nothing but salads and they never gained weight. You could even see their abs in third trimester so I had to put a CC overlay on them because that looked weird. One was in a club in which working out was a club activity so she worked out a lot. But the other was not. She would work out autonomously even though early on she tried to dislike fitness. I disallowed that. Fruit salads should help Shanice and Chantelle. But they will need to work out to get rid of the excess weight.
Both of the girls can collect water or snow several times a day which will create a water surplus. You can collect from natural sources (streams, ponds, etc) or the Romantic Garden Wishing Well. I do off the grid a lot. My eXtreme 100 baby challenge on my channel had all challenges activated but is down to 6 of 13 including Off-the-Grid. I didn't add Eco Lifestyle until ep. 18. Her family was living in the 19th century until them. I use many turbines and the solar roofing (which is free). Yes they can use PCs and TVs if you have enough power.
Make a club and have caring for animals, cleaning and repairing as club activities, also painting so you can sell their paintings.

The garden plants reverting to dirt pile has been in the game for YEARS and I fecking hate that EA can't be bothered to fix it. I love living off the land type play, and I haven't been able to for ages. You have to keep on either replanting or cheating the plants back to life. It is so obnoxious.
Lol, the Grim Reaper wants to take over the house and be the new owner. 😅

When Sims are sitting and eating for some reason they freeze up and stop doing what they're doing. But if you click the sitting icon below the action to make them stand, they'll continue to eat. If they stop eating again, make them sit, they'll continue to eat again.
Off the grid works as intended (kind of), but the problem is you need to specifically toggle appliances to work off the grid. Right now your fridge, stove, lights etc are all eating up your excess power the second you are generating a surplus. that is why your TV is never working. your shower, toilet and sinks etc are all doing the same to your water.

The plants reverting to dirt piles bug has been around FOREVER. You can sometimes "fix" it by dragging your plants into the household inventory and back out again in build mode.
It's currently listed as "needs saves" on the EA bug forums.

The first and only horse I got was a rescue elder female by the name of Sugar. Two of her traits were fearful and needy but I can't remember the third trait. She was the absolute sweetest creature and no trouble at all. She did prefer to be hand fed but me not doing it didn't stop her from taking care of herself and socialising with my goat. 10/10 would recommend a rescue horse as the traits aren't impossible to overcome and create interesting personalities. 😊
I didn't get Sugar with the intention of training, breeding or racing. I just wanted her to have a peaceful home for the last days of her life.

10:16 it’s not Shantelle, It’s the Grim Reaper.
You may want to set your power and water to "store" that way you use it. the other way, as I understand, auto-sells it to the utilities. So you have to buy power and water back from them. There is farmhand mod from 2021 by siriussimmer designed for cottage pack. The guy takes care of crops and animals. You'll still need to take care of the horses and the mini-beasts ( since it is ranch pack ), but still it takes a lot off your back. I'm enjoying immensely the high drama of your series. Cheers!

I once used a lot from the Gallery that had a chicken coop, I removed it, and the chickens inside teleported into existence and soon died of old age and disappeared, not even getting visits from the grim reaper. lol
It occurs to me again how weird it is that Seasons players never have to pay for the presents they add to present piles and Christmas trees... then they magically get objects of random sizes out of those presents, which ends up being such an exploit that it could easily be a rags to riches strategy when you can sneak presents even when there's no holiday going on that includes a tradition for opening presents.
Also, if you want to add presents to a tree, I'm pretty sure you need the undecorated Christmas tree, which is also a tree that sims can decorate together. I've always been fond of Seasons' ability to allow you choose what decorations you want to use on your house and your tree, but I don't often have the patience for it all. lol ;w;

A hint… switch your water/power from auto sell to store and you’ll have more to use.
Not sure if maybe you're using a mod that's bugging out your game, but if you use Off The Grid and use Wind or Solar Panels you absolutely can use appliances that use power. That's 99% of the time the way I play this game. Always rags to riches.

You've got it set to sell the power and water you're making, so you're not going to be able to use it. Set it to store and you'll be able to watch TV.
I know these expansion are broken and money grabbing, but seeing you play it still makes me want it 😂😂 i want to have a chaotic messy farm ❤

Yeah that's the thing, the pack on it's own is not enough; it's super fun IF you have cottage living and maybe seasons/eco lifestyle/pets but if not it would be boring. The thing that disappoints me is that even in sims 3 you could make your own course the horses could do, with the obstacles, in this game it's just boring separate objects, and from what i've seen (i don't have the pack and don't know) it seems that increasing skills doesn't change the animations too much

Your farmhand might not be showing up because you can’t afford to pay them. Lol😂
Feed them only fried fish and garden salad if you do not want your SIMS to gain weight. Fruit salad is a possibility too (although realistically it should not be since fruit is loaded with sugar); but I have not tested that one.
With the plants reverting to dirt piles glitch (usually happens after travelling) if you put them all in the household inventory then put them back, they'll be full grown again. Hate this glitch 😤
