In terms of the X-men working as a team, this might be the best movie of all of them
A lot better than inception in that regard.
no “in terms” its just the best
@@Sheeptastical1935so just "Of the X-Men working as a team, this might be the best movie of all of them"
Yeah especially when the team saved Xavier from getting paralyzed...
I would say days of future past is definitely very close
One of my favorite villain quotes is from this film from Magneto, “I’ve been at the mercy of men just following orders. Never again.” That shows his entire agenda.
Amazing performance by Michael Fassbender.
after seeing his performance, in good conscious I cant imagine anyone else as a young magneto and I truly hope after Ian McKellen either retires or passes away, Michael can continue into the same age as Ian when he started his time X-Men.
His name is so funny lmao fassbender? 🤣
He and Sir McKellen both made the 'concentration camp survivor' aspect of Magneto's backstory believable. The Last Stand was a bit of a mess, but the scene expressing his aversion to tattoos was not only the high point of the film, but a high point for the series as a whole.
This movie is just amazing. I also just have to say that Magneto is by far my favourite character in this franchise. I know people like Wolverine and all but for me, it's not even close. Both Ian and Michael did a phenomenal job and were the perfect contrasts to their respective Charles'. He's had a horrific life and story that I don't even blame him for what he does
You on a first name basis with Michael Fassbender and Sir Ian McKellan??
@@commaJim I like how Michael took Ian's way he says Charles and how he speaks when he's angry
I agree 100%. I’d like the next big trio of mcu , if X-men, to be magneto, storm, and Charles or cyclops.
@@commaJimshut up
JUSTICE FOR DARWIN!!! HES A OMEGA LEVEL MUTANT IMORTAL, NOT FUCTINALY LITTERLY IMORTAL
Yes! They need to bring Darwin back
In the comics, He turned into death, so the true Death herself wouldn't kill him. That pretty much tells you everything
Cannot wait to see Darwin and Synch and adult X23 one day. Sooooooooon my mutants, your patience will be rewarded
Killing him off was such obvious bs
YES. They did him so wrong.
A PREQUEL and a reboot is a tricky hand in of itself. A clean slate as a reboot, but a puzzle to propose the pre-event structures. Bravo to the writers! 👏🏼👏🏼
And mostly Simon Kinberg for picking Matthew Vaughn
@@Zombiesnyder13 The one thing I’ll accept from him.
@@adityameraga5000 how about Deadpool and Logan?
Maybe we'll see Darwin survived his death scene, turning into energy itself and being brought back by Deadpool and Wolverine in the next movie.
I hope so
Its a long shot but if they are going and righting the wrongs of the universe think this is a big one from this movie.
X-Men First Class and Day of Future Past are two favorite X-Men movies in the franchise. Just seems like Fox could never stick the landing with a third movie.
Last Stand and Apocalypse are both pretty good, especially Apocalypse.
24:06 i think thats actually a reference to the first X-Men comic where Charles Xavier says that he thinks the reason he was born with his powers is because his parents worked on the Manhattan project.
but charles is british how would that work
@@xsyio it wasnt just americans involved despite what they might teach
@@xsyioWhile it was _mostly_ Americans who worked on the Manhattan Project, there were some non-Americans who helped here and there.
The wolverine scene in the film is where I feel they should’ve sent Logan’s mind in Days of Future’s Past.
Too early
HISHE did that
@@jacksykes4680 Yes they did, and in my opinion, the film should’ve done that. Days of Future’s Past was good though.
They needed to send him to the 70s to stop the sentinel program which wasn't approved in the 60s.
One of the best X men movie's actually Surprisingly it was not big hit at the Box office
What do you define as a "big hit"? The majority of the X-Men and Wolverine movies didn't make all that much more than this relative to their budget. The only ones I'd call truly big hits are 'Days of Future Past' and 'Logan'.
I always got the impression that Darwin DID "adapt to this" - but in so doing he had to evolve into a higher life form that no longer has a physical body. He's alive, he's just not able to interact with the physical world (for now).
So he became akin to the Phoenix Force in this headcannon?
I just imagine he’s all those particles of dust, as the camera cuts away a gust of wind blows the dust into an unknown field, the dust slowly gathers itself and Darwin reforms Sandman-in-Spider-Man-3-style after the movie is over and he takes a long ass time to find the school again
2:37 I loved how the reboot changed Mystique's relationship with Professor X & Beast.
11:22 Nighcrawler's parentage has been recently retconned.
'He was the secret child of the mutant precog Destiny and the shapeshifting terrorist Mystique, who used the Neyaphem leader Azazel as a genetic template.'
Funny enough, that was also evidently the original plan, but had to be changed for...reasons.
Mystique is male and female
Such a dumb recon, but it is what it is.
@@jamesallenyz431 On the scale of dumb X-Men retcons, it's far from the worst. Not like "Quicksilver and Wanda aren't actually Magneto's kids or even mutants". At least subsequent writers have still given them something of a family dynamic.
@@Tuaron actually his original plan was for Nightmare to be his father, but the current writer said hell no
Simon Kinberg proved that he can do a better job as a producer than as a writer
In fact, he was the one who pitched Matthew Vaughn to direct this movie, after seeing his work in KICK-ASS
"Adapt to this" sounds like a reference to The Matrix where Trinity says "Dodge this" before shooting Agent Brown.
Watched it in the theater and was genuinely surprised by how good it was
The MCU will never make a Magneto of their own that is this tragic and badass
Nice to see a director without baggage directing an X-Men movie.
36:00 Imagine this: (Deadpool 3 multiverse) Kevin Bacon is hagning with the Gardians of the Galaxy and then one X-Men sees him and says: OMG It's Sebastian Shaw !
Picture this (Deadpool 3 universe). Captain America some how gets lost putting the infinity stones back an finds wolverine an they fight
I like when characters hv a secondary ability to help them stand out from other characters w/ similar abilities lol, i.e.:
* Emma Frost - diamond form & telepathy
* Tempest (AKA Angel in this) - insect wings & acid spit
* Jean Grey - telepathy & telekinesis
* Wolverine - claws & regenerative healing
* Psylocke - telekinetic constructs & telepathy
* Callisto - superspeed & X-factor detection
* Sue Storm - invisibility & force field generation, etc.
6:16 I also like when they hv a unique physical appearance (i.e. Beast, Mystique, Nightcrawler, Storm, Blink, etc)
I got so confused when you mentioned psylocke calisto and Sue then I had to reread 😂😂😂
Villa Gesell is a beach town. The place shown in the movie is Bariloche.
9:04 we are, days of future past changed the course of M&M history lol
I absolutely adore this film it’s a really good entry for a preboot
First Class is a fantastic movie. I love Fassbender's Magneto and the score of this film. I actually listened to it on Spotify earlier today. 😲😃😐👍
9:30 the impressions, especially of accents, kill me everyyyytime 🤣they sometimes catch me off guard which make them even funnier😂
So excited to watch this. This is my personal favorite X-Men movie!
This is the best/ and comfort movie of all time I loved how we get to see the team be a team and actually have fun outside of mission and actually be humanised
Its funny cause in the flashbacks of xaviers life he's always bald from what ive seen in the comics so he really didnt need hair in this movie lol
it was "non, je ne regrette rien" in inception not "la vie en rose"
Was it? Or were you incepted into believing that?
Unapologetically my favorite X-Men movie and maybe my favorite Marvel movie overall. I feel like it captures comic books on film so perfectly.
I would never expect anyone to call this their favorite Marvel movie...but that's pretty cool! It is a good movie!
8:06 "CEO of Lockheed".
Lockheed is the name of Kitty Pryde's dragon companion
Lockheed was an aerospace manufacturer for the U.S. that merged with Martin Marietta in 1995 to form Lockheed Martin that’s known today. That’s where the name for the dragon came from more than likely.
@@Myke1992 Cool I didn't know that. Still worth mentioning that connection I'd say
@@groge511isn't Lockheed Illyana Rastputin aka Magik's dragon ❓
@@sourabhkarmakar8040 no. Where on earth did you get that idea? Lockheed has always been Shadowcat's dragon.
29:59 That's not a duck, that's a goose
You know, just because someone is drinking something in an X-Men film, it isn't necessarily ALWAYS a callback to the people drinking champagne during the Weapon X flashback in X2.
8:32
That costume is to die for though. It's giving Hellfire Gala
If the scenes we've seen in photos and clips take place in The Void, as some have suggested, then it's natural to assume that filmmakers intend to use FX to make what appears to be a desert in these shots look the way The Void looks in Loki.
Well if you were to give a person powers that would make them a Mutate not a Mutant.Cause Mutants are born with their powers and Mutates are given power through outside means.
Got my popcorn ready for this x-men rewatch 💯🙌🏽
This still continues to be my favorite X-Men film.
I'm getting so much joy out of these rewatchs! Keep it up New Rockstars! The unsong heros behind these videos deserve so much praise as well
Yes! I couldn’t wait for you to review this one ! It’s one of my favs 😊
This is my favorite X-Men movie. Days of Future Past is my second favorite😁
Hands down THE best Beast makeup put to film
Loving this series so much!!
@ 8:03, "The CEO of Lockheed." Could that be a reference to the purple alien-dragon the used to hang with Shadowcat?
Lockheed was an aerospace manufacturer for the U.S. it merged with Martin Marietta in 1995 to form Lockheed Martin that’s known today.
Thank you for this! ❤️❤️❤️
Magneto was easily my favourite character and best part of this film. Micheal Fassbender definitely was a perfect successor to Ian McKellen. My favourite parts are the bar scene, absolutely badass, where Charles helps him remember a memory of his mother he thought he had lost and after he kills Shaw, he sheds a single tear. Brilliant acting
X men timelines with old and young has alot of plot holes and continuities error.
Josef mengele does exist in 616 him and magneto had history
Not a fan of Jan Jones?
Fun fact Glenn Morshower also plays General Shepard in the mw reboots so he really does love his military roles
Perfect, i was just about to eat lunch
I loved Henry Jackman's score so much that I made a video of the first AVENGERS with the theme "Rage and Serenity"
Not sure if anyone commented but, alongside X Men Origins: Wolverine, this movie was supposed to be an X Men Origins: Magneto movie, but the Hollywood strike around that time made them change course
This is one of my favorites
in hindsight, the slight differences are consistent with it being an alternate universe.
This is the best X-Men film as other than X2, it was a true team movie and it gave us the mutants in their yellow spandex’s
no mention of how a metal bed frame somehow cracks Emma's diamond skin?
Wait a minute!!!!! They celebrate with champagne in The Great Gatsby too. Is Leonardo Decaprio a Mutant too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤨😱😱😱
Darwin isn't dead. He teleported elsewhere (as has happened in the comics) whilst appearing to die so they'd leave him alone....
This is my all time favorite of the Fox X-men films!! It’s just so good!!
Why was raven looking like raven from teen titans? 7:00
Oliver platt will forever be porthos from the three muskateers. He was just legendary in that movie
Enjoyed Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw
I love more of the X-Men movies than most fans, but this one is *easily* my favourite, DOFP a close second
Glenn Morshower was great in Transformers
12:29 my favorite scene
There is a real bar in Las Vegas called Atomic that’s been open since 1952.
That song ( by Edith Piaf) was played in Saving Private Ryan
Platt was pretty good on Chicago ED to
They did a wonderful job of showing how Magneto was led along his path.
There's so much more weight to a villain if they have a purpose and a point rather than just being evil for the sake of a plot.
I don’t remember Grace from Peaky Blinders being in Xmen lol
I went on an X-men bender this weekend. Getting ready for Deadpool 3!!!
I just watched the Rogue Cut of DoFP
the casting was amazing 🙌🏽
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for covering my favorite x men movie. Also when are you going to continue the daredevil rewatch series?
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
Love it
Hi
First class is still one of my favourite xmen movies. Fassbender and mcavoy are just as perfect to me in these roles as the OGs
Interesting Charles said he couldn’t control animals but he was able to control the horses in Logan…
Maybe he learned how? Those movies are set decades apart
Pretty great? This was marvellous 💥
Definitely my favorite
Fastbender would be a good Bond
Can’t believe people actually dislike this movie, including a friend of mine. This movie was fantastic!!
I really love First Class! I remember being slightly irritated that they continued to screw with the established first team canon but once I got over it, this one stood out and still does.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, "In Argentina".... oh boy, how much did we laugh when that scene came in the theaters.... Villa Gesel is in the coast, it has sand and sea. That scene tries to look like "Villa General Belgrano" in Córdoba, where we have lakes and mountains (not as tall as the ones in this scene). Let's say it's more green and less sandy. :D
Also, many germans escaped to Córdoba (where they actually founded a couple of towns), so in that regard, the scene is partially correct. :)
It would be awesome if the guys in charge of fact checking did a good job BEFORE the movie. :)
I absolutely loved this movie. I had no idea where it was going to end up, but as a stand-alone movie it was very effective and showed there was a lot of potential for the future. Well, you know the too many cooks saying.
This is one of my favorite X Men movies.
at 33:50 !! I just noticed that Robin Scherbatsky's Dad (Robin Sr.) is siting two seats right of William Stryker... This changes EVERYTHING about the How I Met Your Mother-verse...
I’ll always agree… we didn’t get to see enough of Darwin and his abilities
"Frienship"😂
First class is my favorite out of all of them.
26:02 i only got that on rewatching the scene
Nightcrawler's parentage was recently retconned
January jones, is a perfect frost!
This Movie is Masterpiece 🎉🔥
Loved codename scene
BEST X - MEN movie EVER 2nd to Logan and X-Men days of future Past.
So not the best 😂
Better than Logan
Easy
Good video
CORRECTION Azazel is NOT the father any more, that has been retconned.
