Ok listen. These two were straight-up adorable this season!
I always liked them together, I mean, how can you not?
But it was never something I got too horribly invested in. I cannot say that anymore. These two served so hard this season! MY GOD.
THE CONTENT WE GOT HOLY CRAP! I mean it was mostly painful as hell but still so good!
I saw a tweet a little while ago about these two that really stuck with me for some reason, and it ultimately inspired this whole video. (If I remembered who tweeted it, I would credit but I don't).
Anyway, it said something like, "Max has serious abandonment issues and the reason she keeps breaking up with Lucas and pushing him away is to see if he will come back. And, he always does. Every. single. time."
And, if you think about it that is the essence of this ship, it's why they work. Max isn't used to people sticking around for her and Lucas never gives up on her. She may tease him about being a "stalker" but deep down she needs someone who keeps showing up for her. Someone who doesn't leave.
Someone who can't be moved.
