    I came up with a totally natural way of relieving depression. It also helps to wake me up which is why I did it in the first place. You know how you can feel where your organs are, you can also feel where your brain is. Just feel where your brain is and imagine something going through your brain from the beginning to the back slowly. I imagine it like an MRI scan. I'm thinking that it may trigger the areas of the brain responsible for serotonin and/or endorphins. Of the 4 other people I taught this to, it works for 2 of them. The other 2 said they couldn't imagine something going through their brain. One said it gets rid of her anxiety. And I have also done it for stress.

      I think when we're younger we're motivated by the need to take care of others who are dependent or interconnected with us: our spouses, our children, infirm parents. As those motivators dwindle away, we wonder what our purpose in life is.
      I think the solution is to look at how we can put our skills to work in service to others. As the people who used to need us need us no longer or are no longer around, we need to find others to whom we can be of service: our church, our community, our neighborhood.

    But if We give them a taste of prosperity after being touched with adversity, they say, “My ills are gone,” and become totally prideful and boastful,
    except those who patiently endure and do good. It is they who will have forgiveness and a mighty reward.}

      @@johnsposato5632For ME, I’ve learned rewards at the end don’t work for me. So, I’ve been experimenting with rewarding myself WHILE doing hard/boring tasks-with food like ice cream and junky chips. Seems to be working so far! (I have ADHD/executive dysfunction, so I need all the help I can get sometimes)
      Note: I still make sure to eat fiber before the carbs, to avoid that nasty glucose spike/crash later.

    I wouldn't say, "The pursuit is the reward," because a reward implies some kind of prize or benefit received for having done something AFTER you've done it.
    My amateur view:
    The pursuit is the challenge we're compelled to sink our teeth into.
    Yes, the reward is a carrot on a string, but it's real purpose only goes so far as it serves to motivate us. In other words, it's bait.
    It's the incentive that triggers the drive to pursue, and it's what challenges us into motion. You may believe that you REALLY want that carrot, but the real pleasure is the desire itself.
    The desire to obtain it or achieve it, the excitement of believing it possible, mustering the determination to see if it is REALLY doable, and setting out to prove it, to see it come true - that's what it's really about.
    Overcoming obstacles along the way, knocking out the steps necessary, gaining confidence, feeling pleased with your progress, and a growing sense of self-assurance that you're almost there. Once u prevail, it feels really good, but not because the trophy in your hand is so valuable or beautiful.
    What makes you feel so good in that moment is that you were able to do what it took to successfully complete the journey, and you did it!
    Mother nature's way of getting us going, likely imperative to our survival, though little do we know, and so much we may yet have to learn.

    Isn’t celebrating pursuits more than wins the thing that keeps us in a constant state of discovery but showing zero results? Goals to me are the metric or anchor that keeps us from over analyzing and hence going astray to the point “your input ceases to be commensurate with output” aka non-performers/ procrastinators 4:10

    • @knowledgemusiclaughsjesus
      @knowledgemusiclaughsjesus Před 5 měsíci +5

      I think what I took from it is dopamine isn't consistent and needs some time to reset, praise yourself for effort not the achievement too much, like the other day going to pick up my new number plates for my car registration after getting the roadworthy certificate I was enjoying myself on the trip there and back joking with strangers and enjoying the scenery and when I got back to the mechanics to put the plates on I was then hit with the bill for the repairs to get the roadworthy so had forgotten how much fun I had just picking up the number plates but after this video realised it was the persuit that gave me the pleasure not finishing it,the bill helped me see it but I knew the bill was coming anyways, pretty boring story but makes sense now in a way, maybe just try getting yourself some small wins then praising yourself for the effort to start with?

    Sort of.... but owning that house IS the big goal, the big win, the forever enjoyment. Getting there may be fun, or may be a bitch. I don't buy into this philosophy. It we didn't get the goals and the happiness they bring there would NEVER ever be any joy along the path. The pursuit NEVER brings the fullness that goal completion DOES. Folks, take all videos as entertainment, not to live by. Form your own opinions. Don't be sheep, simply following others. Use your own brain. Get out there, take action, give up weed and other drugs, and be an active contributor to life.
