I've always loved 1987's Maurice, which also has a happy and hopeful ending. It's a beautiful and faithful adaptation of E.M. Forster's novel, written in 1913-14 and only published posthumously in 1971. When you consider we were only about 5 years into the outbreak of AIDS when the film was released in 1987, it was astonishing to have this film at this time, and a shame more people aren't aware of it. Definitely worth a watch.

Not buying 'The Matrix' BS. At. All. Listing this one and leaving off a REAL good film like 'Latter Days' is pandering to the film makers.

Call me by your name has to be the most over hyped and vastly overrated movies I've ever known. It's a predatory relationship, but no one wants to talk about that.

Why is Everything Everywhere All at Once even on this list?
I mean, the presence of a gay character doesn’t mean the film is LGBTQIA+. It doesn’t even briefly explore gay relationships.
