- In this video, we check out RBD Lab - a Blender Add-On that basically helps you automate the physics simulations for breaking objects in Blender! It can help you shatter the objects, add physics, add debris and smoke, and more!

Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about RBD Lab in the comments below!
It's a wonderful addon capable of some excellent results but offers so many options the lack of any really in-depth tutorials, along with frequent changes to workflow, often make it overly difficult to learn. So videos like this are invaluable.
Great video, CG. Super helpful! 🙏
I greatly appreciate these videos regarding 1.3. SO much has changed since previous versions that it can be difficult as a newcomer to this add-on. Thank you for the time and consideration you clearly put into this, Justin!
Finally got to buy RDBLab! Been eyeing this baby for years, now! Will try it this weekend
Great video!

Hi, thanks for the guide, I figured out almost everything thanks to you. Before that, I couldn't even properly break the model into fragments. Thanks again rah!
Glad I could help!
Wow this helped me so much thanks!!!!! I subscribed
I can`t add any particles because it says that I don`t have the attribute material_index... What is that ?
Pls?
One of the larger issues I ran into is that when u add a physics rigid body simulations to meshes, sometimes it just doesn't work at all. Like, it can run for once after you delete rigid body world from the scene, but after that - no matter what you do, it's still static.
Thanks Bro
very, very cool!! snks!!
Can you create a custom ground so that the objects fall within the shape of the ground?
Hello my friend, nice video! Can you make full video for this addon like 1 hour to explain all for this addon because i pay for that but we dont have so much tutorials on CZcams.
How do u export the sim to another file once urs happy with the result?
Thanks for this - their recent update looks like a big one, if you fancied doing an updated version...
I'm gonna have to go back and give it a look - lots to keep up with out there :)
Question; Do you have Blender tutorial(s) what could help me with my current problem I am trying to figure out in my current animation test?
What I am trying to do: Animating an object to fly, then in mid-air giving it riidat body for intependent flying physics.
Problem; After animating the initial flying path and setting a frame where Rigid Body tack for ”animated” is set off, the object jumped back to it’s starting point and stays there like nothing happened.
Do I have some settings wrong or what caused this?
Is there an option for material inner and outer? I can't find it.
When I click 'Create Debris' nothing happens. Any idea why?
How would you bevel the edges? Bevel modifier makes a mess and bevel shader doesn't seem to work
as usual I can depend on you to walk me through the add ons I have purchased....How do I work this? OH I know who I can learn from.....Thanks AGAIN!
Every time I add debris it's not showing, do you have any recommendations?
10:00 Please help me, when i trying to create Debris, it says No motion detected in this range! What am i doing wrong ?
it's better than nothing honestly, but it's still generic compared to relatively a pricy tool called "cebas thinking particles" in which is node based and rule driven where various other parameters can be configured in order to control movement of particles, and overall scene with exact accuracy as determined by user, but i'm surprised to see your video, it's cool.
When i try to add particles it gives me this message: "Your objects do not have the attribute material_index!" do you know any solution?
I want to love it, but everytime I click Bake, Blender crashes. No matter what I do, no matter how many cells I generate, when I get to the Baking section, Blender crashes. What am I missing?
this is not have things break it never obliturates and onjected there has to be a setting for some part to stay intact. irt dosent looks right it lookslike you dedonate a cube with a atomic bomb
so this is like Chaos Destruction just guided
Press 0 multiple times for a funny UH UH UH
Dude my thing literally goes through the wall
3:14 Python error :(
I can see the cuts... Anyone having the same problem?
Pfft! 50 BUCKS?! Fuck that.
cant recommend this addon at all. trash.
