      Why would you push a player that is heading to the goal as a last defender? Why would you tackle a player that has his back to the goal and is heading out of the box? Barça destroyed themselves and PSG was to take advantage, for once it's not us destroying ourselves lmao

      @@thatblackguy69oh yeah, that Joao Cancelo penalty was really silly and you don’t expect someone with his experience to do that. But tbh, they were already doing some desperate defending already due to being one man down and I feel they were running on muscle memory and instinct. He saw an opportunity to get the ball and lunged at it.

      that was definitely a red i completely agree. the only decision i have a problem with is the call for Gundogan penalty. It was 50/50 even if he didn't call it at least Gundo shouldn't have received a yellow for dive cause there was definitely contact even if it was soft

    I'm Brazilian and a Barça fan way back since Ronaldo. But there's no controversy, Araujo made a real mess of things. First, it was him that made a bad pass that resulted in the swift counter attack. And then he went on to foul the PSG player, which resulted in a text book red card. It would have been better if he let the PSG player score, since Barça would still have been in the driver's seat in terms of qualification. But once you're playing one man down with a lot of time yet to go, hardly ever, specially at this level, will the team with 10 men be able to resist.

    As a Barca fan.. We suffer from past success. Barca was so used to things being easy, when we had Messi and the likes at their peak. The moment when Barca has to show character, they fall short. And that's also the difference, between us and Madrid. Not skill, not money or talent. Just the mindset of expecting everything to go your way (not necessarily to be favored)

  • @Cnith
    @Cnith Před měsícem +2

    As a Barca fan I'd say it's a red card. To say that it didn't change the game is wrong though. Given the shitty start to the season that Barca had, I think we were very vulnerable when not having all 11 on the field to cover their positions, since posession is sort of an extra defense. The players went back to the "headless chicken"-defense tactics of the fall, in many cases.
    PSG also had moments in the first game where they dominated, so I think it'd been the same tug of war of dominance with all 11 Barca players on the pitch.
    One thing that really pissed me off though was Dembele's behavior. Just showed zero empathy for his old team, with annoying little smirks on his face in various situations.

    Xavi is a terrible coach. When all your players are stressed and want to achieve results, the coach should be the one comforting and calming them. Instead, he only adds more fuel to the fire. Even someone like Guardiola, who is always agitated and demands perfection from his players, knows how to conceal his frustration and always encourages his players to move forward. You might be a technical genius, but if you don't know how to manage the personalities, emotions, and synergy of the group on and off the pitch, then coaching is not for you, especially at the highest level of the game.

    I understand why he did it, it's just not good logic. He had tunnel vision, he was only thinking about stopping the goal rather than the consequences of what he'd do. It was a red card, but the other calls he made in this match were more questionable. There is always next year for Barça because Football is a game of "Next year." My take as a somewhat biased barca fan:
    That was absolutely not a red. Not under the last man rule, not under normal open play rules, nothing. That was a tap with no force behind it, barcola jumped just when he felt it. By that logic the time gundo got pushed in the box by vitinha and marquinhos shouldve been a pen with 2 yellows given out at least

    • @matteoatigui2411
      @matteoatigui2411 Před měsícem

      The big difference between Gundogan and barcola is that Gundogan pushed his ball too far couldn't win the exchange even if vitinha don't trip him he'd have lost the ball , barcola had a clear 1 v 1 with the keeper. If you can't see that at this point you are indeed biased too biased in fact to take your opinion into consideration
