The berry season is from summer through fall. Spring is the growing season for berries.
Tax, like regional wealth is region specific. So to tax the second region, you need to build a manor house there. Side benefit of a second manor house, is that you get a second retinue of 5 knights for free!
Absolutely on that ASAP although I have now realised that the best move is to try and have as many militia before this so that you don't soft cap yourself on potential units - my thinking is that if you raise 6 malitia before you even get your first retinue you can massively increase your potential army size in the long run.
You can set up the donkey station to send goods from one settlement to another. This uses a barter system s you have to have something to send back in payment. if you have a trade post in both regions you can also trade commodities back and forth as well, but this requires regional wealth, and you can't control if they trade between your regions or with the off map regions so it is less predictable.
I feel like trade is going to get a rework - I'm not opposed to the idea of needing wealth for inter regional trade (the barter system is also cool) I just think it needs to be a bit more intuitive
@4:56 The red down arrow on the roof tiles means you have saturated the market so they price has dropped. If you stop selling them for a while, the price will go back to normal.
I wish there was a simple pause trade button - perhaps one day
@The_Beard change to "no trade" from the drop down list. The new patch will include a check box for inter-regional trade and external (off map) trade. This is a big life improvement once it rolls out to the main branch from the beta branch.
Yes, a market area has to completely fill up before the next market area can start to get market stalls in it. The market areas fill in the order they are created. I have been told that you can select individual market stalls and move them from one market to another, but I have never tried this so I can't confirm it. I have seen that when market stalls get moved around within the same market area, it can create some wacky behavior by new market stalls being placed in the market area.
Yup! You can move them - have not had any odd effects so far but will keep an eye out on them...
small shields are only for side arm militia. The spear militia need the large shields, and the polearm militia do not use any shield. The spear militia are good general purpose militia, the polearm militia are strong against metal armor. I am not sure what the bonus' are for side arms. Your retinue is a mix of side arms and polearms, but you can customize them so they could be all side arm or all polearm.
Yea I'm starting to think spears are the way to go - use the retinue as the charging unit.
be carful about cutting the trees down around the berry deposits. deforesting the area around the berries can destroy the berry bushes. It can also cause your deer herds to migrate if you start cutting trees down in their zone. You are chopping down trees awfully close to your berries in Imnmenrueth.
Shit - missed that. Thanks for that spot!
archers are borked at the moment. They don't seem to do any damage at all. Greg is aware of this and is working on balancing them again. Hopefully for the next patch.
I'm so stressed about any upcoming fight now - can't bring myself to disband them either. They must have a chance to prove their worth!
@The_Beard the moral mechanic does factor in total number of enemies in the opposing army, so even if they don't do any damage, they can still affect the outcome, just by being on the battlefield.
The patch triples archer damage once it rolls out to the main branch.
Greg is away of the saw cutter storage full bug and said he is working on it.
Yea - I would prefer to have 2-3 logs in storage rather than the current default 1
@The_Beard the new patch says he upped it to 5 logs in storage and fixed the bug that caused the out of space warning.
