I’m sensitive to when people aren’t letting others talk, but I genuinely didn’t see Conan over-talking or interrupting Kristen. She wasn’t very talkative and he filled the spaces. He also let her speak whenever she did!
Exactly my thoughts. I don't understand people saying he didn't let hee talk when in reality he gave her plenty of opportunities but she gave nothing so he had to jump in. What was he supposed to do just sit in silence when she wouldn't respond?
Compared to the Peretti episode the difference is pretty stark. Some guests just talk more than others. He does talk too long sometimes but someone has to keep the convo going...
I agree! Idk what all the whining is about 🤷♂️ she didn’t seem like she had too much to say. Also this is CONAF not NPR, people need to lighten up a little bit. He’s a silly man full of goofs and that’s not gonna change!
There were a fair few moments when she was just getting started and had to overtly steer the conversation back to what she was trying to talk about before Conan took things off track.
no shade but maybe you're not sensitive enough. this has been bugging me a lot with conan lately , I practically stopped listening to the whole episodes. he also does this to people who have a lot to say. maria bamford episode was hard to listen to for me because he cut her four or five times as she was speaking, good on her that she continued to speak but it was weird.

I've had a similar dream but I met him in my country and was his guide throughout his stay. It was nice. lol
I've seen four episodes of PALM ROYALE (2024) by now. They're all great... 3 and 4, particularly so. I hope everyone who enjoys period comedies with watch! 🌴

I would LOVE to see Conan do Hot Ones. I personally cant see him doing it tho, he seems adverse to alot of types of food. Even on his remotes, i only really saw him eat sushi lol

Kristen Wiig just wasn't feeling it on this episode. I expected so much more out of this episode but she just wasn't vibing with the day I guess.
Crazy how she came up doing improv and sketch comedy but struggled to make a funny comment in this whole podcast lol

Conan really likes to hear himself talk. His questions are mostly tied to what he wants to answer himself.

I love Conan, but I have to say in all the Kristen Wiig clips, Conan spoke much more than her. I was excited to get to know her more because she doesn’t do a lot of interviews, and I don’t feel like I got the chance to learn much about her. No shade to Conan, just trying to be constructive.

She's not a great guest. Conan gave her plenty of opportunities to tell stories but she wouldn't jump in. Surprising given her background. I was expecting better energy from her.
Conan is a high energy person. When his guests are also high energy, the interviews really pop. I have been a big fan of Kristen,but maybe she was tired. It seemed that Conan was trying to meet her where she was, and she just wasn’t connecting. She didn’t seem glad to be there.
He gave her pleanty of chances to tell interesting tid bits and fill the audience in, but she could barely muster up a response to anything. Awful person to interview.
So, say a guy wants to watch her series, this would've been a good opportunity to let us know.

Just for the record Adam Sandler made a lot of terrible, lazy films that were just excuses for him to have paid vacations in the past 20 years. That is not a good thing - it's theft of peoples time and money. Lazy writing that never went past a first draft, phoned in acting, hiring your buddies, shooting on fancy resorts and pushing them as if they were travel commercials. His career should ended from that cynical move of making those hideous "films" and pretending that they were legitimately worth anyone's time. Shame on that guy.
I think the PERCEPTION of Sandler is that he phoned it in after a point. But honestly if you actually watch his body of work, a lot of it is pretty experimental. Even the "bad" stuff like Click or Pixels.
Conan needs to stop laughing @ his own jokes. Yeah. I said it.

He does it almost every episode. He’s constantly talking about himself all the time. It’s funny to see these CZcams clips and if you keep hitting the 10 second fast forward button, no matter where you land it’s a 75% chance conan is talking

She’d still be a fantastic actor, writer, and producer - that’s her job after all she’s not a lip model. Conan is right Palm Royale is great - you should check it out. Even if it’s just to count how many people have rubber lips. But you may loose count, because you are simply enjoying the show. Have a good one.

Conan doesn’t hog all the attention every episode. Guests can range from extremely quiet (Jeremy Strong) to extremely energetic and talkative (Robin Williams). Kristen Wiig, while hilarious in front of a camera and doing a character, is a softer, quieter guest on the talkative spectrum when she’s not doing a character. That’s where the host can come in and bring in more substance to the silence.

Ok so Conan didn't the like show. When folks start talking about production design and the cool cast, well, that means they don't like the show.
Also, I see a lot you talking about how Conan is talking too much. Kristen's not be very talkative so he's trying to keep the convo going.
That’s a delusional interpretation. Conan literally said the show was great three times - outside of speaking on the production value, he said the entire show as a whole was great. He spoke about the acting less than one minute into this clip, calling it awesome - even said Ricky Martin was awesome. They also agreed the writing was great - he is a writer and he was in awe at the entirety of aspects of excellence in the show - he knows more than you about what it takes to make a hit. He is literally expressing how he enjoyed it. Him talking about how layered and intentional and immersive production is, is NOT him slagging of a show - he is literally in wonder at it, and happy for his friend being a part of that. You clearly don’t value this interview as you are reducing and denying Conan and Kristin’s point of view. Your comment is literally delusional - and probably just hateful for some reason…probably because you are misogynistic - which is just so boring and lame and unnecessary. When someone says something is great, awesome and amazing - they aren’t speaking in code. You may as well hear voices, think your dog talks to you, own a tinfoil hat, think the earth is flat, and believe that you will one day own Mars if you heard Conan say he didn’t think it was good. Genuinely, dude, if you heard that - it may be time to figure out why you are so angry cause it looks real unhealthy and it isn’t serving you. Also Conan has been talking over a few guests lately. He’s obviously passionate and excited about subjects - that isn’t necessarily an indication that Kristin isn’t entertaining- goodness knows that’s also a delusional view of it, given she’s such a successful professional entertainer and improver. Yeah it certainly seems that way in the edits lately hey? I’m going to listen to the podcast and see if it’s different there. My impression is that he is simply passionate about using his time with guests now to give them their flowers and show appreciation. He’s obviously passionate about entertainment. After all - that is his life’s purpose. So I get why he does that. It would be great if there was a bit more balance, as an audience member. But you know, I also appreciate that it isn’t scripted - and for so many years on his own talk show he let guests do all the talking and hit their own promotional points. It’s nice to hear his unscripted point of view - especially as it’s so appreciative and positive. Thankfully Kristin has other interviews where she speaks a bit more also.
He definitely approaches these more as conversations than as interviews. But he does sometimes get carried away with anecdotes and tangents.
Let her talk.
Conan has an urge to make unnecessary jokes all the time for no reason. This ain’t late night television.
