Rick said the decoys were supposed to have "terrestrial" adventures, so it makes sense that the real family isn't on planet.
I watched this episode twice and I completely missed this... It makes so much sense! The decoys only moved around the Earth. None of them went to space.
ONE is seen floating above the earth in space once but its still decoy logic because they don't leave the earths orbit or even full atmosphere i guess even though it looks like space its still earth contained, But ORIGINAL family is def the space beth one @@Strix005
The episode was to all the fans who always try to figure out if the family we are watching is the original. This is the writers saying that it doesn’t matter because it could always be a clone going forward.
But since all Ricks except one are dead, and the last one got the decoy notifiation when the penultimate one died, doesn't that confirm them as the original?

The obvious hiding place for every clone should have been the citadel, since there, every Rick is the real Rick. the fact that none of them thought about it suggest the terrestrial adventures line, was legit.

Then Dracula saying “Christianity hasnt been invented yet”

If Rick and Morty episode won't get you saying "wtf" then they haven't done it right
i burst out laughing when he said yummy skin, and live in the forest like a libertarian
So this episode was like a lot of the others in that it is a literal and metaphoric representation of the creative process to create a story. In the beginning, they are sitting around the table (the writers table/kitchen table). They pitch the idea to kill the Christian God. That idea is literally shot down (by squids). Then, we get the Mr. Needs to be Hunted idea. Rick comments that the bit is funny but too similar to other ideas and that it wouldn't last long (just like writers would do after pitching an idea). Then, in the car, Jerry is stuck on Mr. Needs to be Hunted and the details of him like a particular writer may be that's not understanding a pitch. Rick says it doesnt matter because theyve moved on to higher stakes. My favortite part is Rick pulling out the white board that writers' rooms always have, and drawing a rough storyboard and a bunch of notes just like he is writing the story within the epside itself. Dan Harmon is obsessed with his method for crafting a solid narrative, self aware deprecation of his and society's faults and meta 4th wall breaking commentary on art within itself, and this episode is alot like last season's story train episode in bringing that method to life.
Now that you point that out, I totally see that and love it much more than the story train. The story train episode was little to close to high concept of exploring the writing process.
This was constant laughs for me. Great episode even though it was more like an episodic adventure but it was done in a really creative way. Felt like 5 minutes and the Jerry after credit story cracked me up too.
Imagine if a lot of rick and morty episodes we followed over the years were really decoys?

I like the little detail that one of the Ricks said about decoy families only having terrestrial adventures and in the end we a family in space proving that they are the real family

A decoy family was probably just living their lifes and something inconsequential happened but it was just on point enough to tick off that decoy Rick that maybe they are being hunted for being decoys, which launched them into hunting decoys and eventually a rick thought off dressing up as squid to not tick off the rest of the decoys of what was happening

The real family was the one in Space cause Rick made that point at the beginning of the episode where he said that the decoys stay confined to terrestrial adventures.
This episode should've been called "The Clone Wars" 🤣

Im not going to lie. i've skipped you guys reactions for like a year now. I have no clue why. Its just one of those things where I wasn't ready to click even though you were reacting to all the things I watch. Today was the day and it was the right choice. Like and a sub! Great reaction.

That's why the decoys can't leave Earth using the portal gun or go out to space.
Therefore the last family with the clone Beth is the real family who is the only family capable to travel in space.
But we literally see a decoy in space during the episode. I've been seeing this so much are people blind
@@racool911 But if you look closely that Decoy Rick is still near Earth, meaning that it is still within the Earth's atmosphere. So technically that Decoy Rick still didn't leave the Earth.
@@wolfbearice You also see that decoys of decoys have slight deviations in their personality, design, etc. There's no reason to think that the original didn't limit decoys to earth and that decoy created new decoys and somewhere down the line one Rick started limiting them to earth. The simple fact is, this could go on forever and there's no way to know when it stops unless the writers confirm it.
Okay, this is one of my favorite episodes in a long time.
That end cut scene is possibly my favorite.

Also in the season 2 premiere when one of their neighbors was in freefall while frozen in time. Everyone in this show seems to be oblivious to Rick & Morty's antics.

The C-137 Rick and Morty are the *Main* R&M. There world is the one what got destroyed and where C-137 Jerry, Beth and Summer get leaved on.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh i just realized the bad squid costume means that rick is a decoy further down the line than the ricks with good squid costumes. Each rick gets worse thats why the last one was the originals decoy, he was already as he said a god but not quite original rick level.
This has a lot of twist tho, at first i thought the decoy killings is just a reason for them to stay home and watch interdimensional cable. And then i thought the real family gonna fight this rogue decoy family, then ohh there's this ugly decoy family that seeks revenge, and well you know Rick and Morty gonna take it all over the top and we have a big war. In the end even the real family wasn't involved at all. Fucking brilliant

Unless this decoy episode is actually another anthology story of the Story Train episode, which is a blown memory of Morty’s Mind Blowers, which is a spin-off of Two Brothers from Interdimensional Cable!!!!!💥💥💥💥💥
