Steve make sure you tighten up the coupling nice & tight with 2 spanners where it grips the flex shft, if its not tight you can loose a flex shaft/prop/spacer/bearings assembly straight out of the back of the boat. Seen this happen so many times on boats.

That is the gap you need that you are pointing to, the strut & the shaft holder is the same thing. The metal tube needs moving up closer to the motor, you only need a short piece of the metal tube coming out the rear of the boat. Dont forget to seal around the metal tube where it comes out of the rear of the boat, utherwise the boat will fill up with water leaking in.

    Gillian is right.
Move your stuffing tube the silver tube closer to motor mine is 19mm away from motor when all done up
and there is about 8mm sticking out the back of boat. The teflon tube goes into the back of the prop strut.
Yes leave a gap by shaft.about 2mm works for me.
There is no teflon washer on the pro version.
    Hope that helps you out
    Good luck love the boat

Yes you dont want to have any more than a 2mm max gap, otherwise it allows the rear flanged bearing to come out of the strut & get caught on the edge of the strut body. As the flanged bearing only goes into the strut about 2.5mm up to the flange, got to luv a good flange missus lol.

😂😂Yeah that happened to me . Loctited in now and no more problems... Highly recommend doing it. .
I turned down the 5mm prop shaft up to the drive dog to 4.76mm so I could try more range of props.not many props to choose from in the 5mm range.😊

@@warbirds20 Yep I also turn down any 5mm prop shafts to 4.76mm, whole array of prop choices available then.

Yes. I did, just use little bit of blue loctite
so if needed not so hard to get off again.😁.
