Yes you dont want to have any more than a 2mm max gap, otherwise it allows the rear flanged bearing to come out of the strut & get caught on the edge of the strut body. As the flanged bearing only goes into the strut about 2.5mm up to the flange, got to luv a good flange missus lol.

😂😂Yeah that happened to me . Loctited in now and no more problems... Highly recommend doing it. . I turned down the 5mm prop shaft up to the drive dog to 4.76mm so I could try more range of props.not many props to choose from in the 5mm range.😊

Nice one bro, thanks for the info,think I damaged the flex tube that goes into the hollow tube t, pulled tube out by mistake, took me ages to get it back into hollow tube and now I think the ends off white tubing is damaged, can't seem to push it all the way into shaft holder and still a bit sticking out where coupling is assembled,, might need another white flex tube 😭🤣😂

@@stevemcqueen7352 The plastic tube goes into the front of the shaft holder about 10mm - 12mm, it will only go in that much as there is a lip inside to stop the plastic tube going in to far.

I've already bought all the upgrades to convert SR80 into pro,due for delivery today bro, I've got a spare SR80 propeller,was going to put it on my vector SR65, bigger propeller,does that mean faster speeds, or more torque, not sure bro,is it like gearing up RC cars, bigger pinion gear, faster speeds, just experimenting bro 🚤👍

@@stevemcqueen7352 Bigger prop gives more torque but can also mean large amp draw on the esc and wires etc, it can risk burning out your esc, worth trying it, but check temps after a short run, if you can't hold you fingers on the esc it's getting too hot.

Why is this shaft in the SR80 parts list? Very strange

@@stevemcqueen7352 The shaft you need is the VP-7980110 ! Typical Chinese parts listing numbers where they mix up parts & numbers. The shaft you have is for the Pro version as I explained. To use the larger stonger shaft that you have, you must also upgrade the coupling, stuffing tube (propshaft tube), & strut. Then the shaft you have will fit in the boat.

I'll have to continue upgrading bro,not sure if there's any point buying the stock prop shaft and propeller, look on wheelspin models,the prop shaft tubing, asked questions about it because it's two different types, don't want to get the SR80 tube, the strut, having a look to see who sells it, wheelspin do the Vector SR80 propshaft with propeller,in stock but don't know if I should go there again, Vector SR80 propshaft might break again

@@stevemcqueen7352 To upgrade to the Pro you will need the following parts. coupler P7980204 about £5. strut / shaft holder V-P7980206 about £22. Tube P79804P04. flex shaft & prop assenbly you already have.

Yeah bro, boats are fun, same as me, got a few RC cars trucks, so also wanted something different,yes there's a lot, you can do with these boats as you said, things are interchangeable, I've still got to open up prop shaft and marine grease etc,etc, but after 3 to 4 hours off playtime, so still got plenty of time, cheers bro 👍🍻🎉

@@stevemcqueen7352 you won't regret it bro.!! The SR80 is a proper beast.! The base model for £180 is a really good deal.! I doubt you'd ever break the plastic parts anyway, I only got the Pro because I was a bit flush at the time, I'm usually happy with base models since I know I'll be upgrading anyway. You can always buy the aluminium parts bit by bit as you go. There's no other difference than the alloy bling, the motor & ESC are the same as far as I know.! Hey.. Imagine the SR80's 4S system fitted in the SR65.!!! I bet it would do over 50 mph.!😉 😉 😂 😂 I've been messing around with the prop angle & trim tabs & got mine to go faster.. Out of the box it was hitting 36mph, now it's hitting 44mph.. It's not as stable though because so much of the hull is out of the water. I always make sure to Gorilla tape my lid down in case it comes off in a crash.. I've stuffed bits of foam in the front of it too, so it won't sink if anything happens to it.
