Bust next week I come back with one of my new favourite project to date turning some firewood into a stunning project.
I was hoping for a resin free video, very interesting to see your wood choices. What is the type of wood of the big piece? It has beautiful marbling.
Unique piece, certainly shows off the beauty of different types of patterns within the wood and a lesson in wood turning that even the best turners can get problems, but you got there in the end - perfectly! 👍👀

That salted beech looks amazing. Why not a wooden dowel next time since it can always be drilled out and replaced if ever necessary. 😊
Fair point. Wanted some extra strength with the steel dowel but probably could get away with wood too

If you holding a piece with your hands thats smaller while using the drill press, it could get caught in the machinery and mess up your hand. I would recommend a wood hand screw clamp for your saftey.

What actually went wrong with the first one? Was it the glue, or a problem with the wood?
Not quite sure. I guess there was too much pressure coming from the tailstock and as I was working at the very end it lost balance. But i might be talking rubbish so not sure I am afraid 🙂
