    I own both of these and both are really GREAT knives IMO! I have used mine as EDC's for a long while now without any issues. They do not break or overly wear under extreme use. I have put mine to extremes at times. lol They never failed. The white really does not get dirty looking with use. Just wipe it down from time to time and it has never looked dirty over major use.
    I love my Spyderco, Microtech, etc... knives also but the added items, like the satin storage bag, etc... from Benchmade are a really nice feature IMO.
    Wish Spyderco, Microtech, etc... would start using more than a knife in a plastic bag, in a box. lol
    Most of these USA knives are not cheaply priced.

    I totally agree with your comment on the design of the blade as far as that sharp part that is exposed when the knife is closed...it honestly is what has kept me from purchasing one. The seamless design of other knifes like the 940 or pm2 or 3 is a standard for me now.

    Just getting into knives. I got the big idea design tpt slide which is just a tiny utility knife. Looking at the Benchmade Bugout now but not sure which to get. My hands aren’t huge but they’re not tiny either. I will use it mostly at work for boxes. I have to wear dress pants. From the reviews, it sounds like they would both work well because even the full size feels small enough in the pocket. I think I’m going to go with the full size but we’ll see!

    Difference in flex and toughness between grivory and CF elite scales?

  • @jseden
    @jseden Před 2 lety +1

    It it’s under 5 or 6 oz, weight is a non issue for me.. I actually prefer some heft.. the mini looks awesome tho, especially with some titanium scales.
    I generally prefer smaller knives.. my edc is a small crk 31 and thats generally about as big as I go. The last knife I tried before the crk was a ZT 0450.. barely any bigger but it still just felt kinda large. After dozens of knives tho, the crk is pretty ideal.. and I’ve definitely never wished that it was lighter.

    One time I had my cf elite in my pocket and I'm like "hey where'd it go" and I was looking all over my room searching everywhere and then realized it was in my pocket the whole time. It's so light and low profile that most the time you dont even know it's there

    the mini has a cericote finish on the blade the only dlc coating on it is on the titanium access lock bar and studs, although the cf elite does have a dlc coated blade. also grivory is what Benchmade calls there FRN polymer but its the same thing and its what the mini has as a handle material as apposed to the cf elite which has the carbon fiber variant. but the mini and the original bugout 535 share the same cheap ass handle. btw great video my friend very well put together

    The most legal blade length in the United States is 3 inches. Benchmade should have only reduced the blade down to that for the mini and thus allowed for a slightly longer handle for us with large glove wearing hands. It's like they've paid zero attention to feedback on the mini griptilian over the years. Then the color choice of white or orange...WTF? 🤬🖕
