    You are one of the only reviews where you actually show the fidget factor of this knife. Congrats. Every other CZcamsr opens and closes the bugout with 2 hands and it pisses me off for some reason lol. So thumbs up. You actually did a good review. Keep it up bro.

      Oh dang! Thanks so much yeah some people of actually mention that I do that too much and that I should stop but honestly it’s my channel and it’s my point of you in fidget factor is one of the things that is most important because I might cut a cloth or two or cut some tape but what am I really doing I’m popping this bad boy open and closed all day.

    That part about the blade coating wear gumming up the axis lock is great info to know beforehand. Sounds like a winner if you encountered all those issues and it’s still your favorite EDC. I’ll be sure to clean the action every so often while I edc it for a while to avoid having that issue

    I havent had a single issue with my bugout cf elite. I love mine. You are spot on about the weak point being the omega springs. I honestly think though that the springs would last for years if you didnt play with them so much or take the knives apart. I dont fault you bro. I am just saying. I have had about 20 benchmades and rotate them in and out of my carry for 10 years now and i have never broken a single omega spring. I am not kidding. Not a single spring. I also have never taken apart a single benchmade ever. Just wash them with water a blow out with a blow drier. No rust, no spring breakage , and no issues at all. I do fidget a bit with them but not much. One of my 940’s has a bit of play but i put a drop of lock tight in it and dialed it in and zero blade play and drop shut perfect action. That was 9 years ago. I really think that we all expect perfection on all our knives. But if we take them apart often things strip out and break. I took apart a couple spidercos and over time they had issues. I dont think it was that the spiderco’s are bad, infact i love spyderco. I just think i shouldent have taken them apart. Plus like you said, BM has a fantastic warrantee

      I also feel like people think if you leave a bad review that you don’t like a product or that you have something bad to say it doesn’t mean you like it as a whole. I recently got a CS mini Elite Bugout and made a quick follow up video on it and it’s basically perfect. The centering was dead on the action has no play, it has no pivot lash and it’s rocksolid. I even put aftermarket skills on it and the centering is a little lost but again these are aftermarket skills, the main thing is it has no blade plate and has a smooth action. But the knife did come with the butterfly logo burnt instead of a clear white and it came with a axis lock barrel that was not anodized on one side and raw silver. Although the rest of life is so perfect so that really doesn’t bother me it just shows that there is something to be said about Benchmades quality control that so many people make complaints and this one off knife has problems with it as well. When you compare this to a different nice brand like Civivi for example, I’ve had four Civivi which mind you come in at a lower price point and only one had a quality control issue of the micarta scale been bowed to a point where you could see the light in between the liner in the scale.

      I don’t really understand why these springs would break. I’m not questioning other who have had this, just that if the springs are working within their elastic limit, there ought to be no wear at all. Perhaps these are very cheaply
      Made springs? I recently purchased a mini bugout over a Spyderco because I wanted a thin blade and not a back lock. I’d still like to try a Spyderco compression lock.

    I absolutely love my Bugout !!!! I have taken mine apart many times and have never had a problem. Maybe on mine the quality control was better.

    First time I've heard of blade play with this knife. I guess there's a reason Benchmade doesn't want you to take it apart. Mine's perfect. Blade is centered, no play, no lash, good movement. Think I'll just leave it as it is.

    Just received my first bugout ( the 535-3 that just released . ) so far I love it . I’m normally a spyderco fan . The pm2 and Manix 2 are still my favorites. But they definitely aren’t as lite nor as good looking as the 535-3. Nice review 👊🏼

    I bought a pivot alignment tool for taking apart my benchmade knives and it makes taking them apart super easy and painless. Swapping scales is a 5 minute job

    I have the CF Elite version with free flowing action and no blade play, so to me weight seems to be no issue, especially since it's lighter than Grivory.

    Nice review! It does sound like most of the downsides of the knife were cause by trying to modify.

    • @JadeGeminiM390
      @JadeGeminiM390  Před 3 lety

      Yes and no. The pivot lash actually is something because the hole in the blade is actually drilled bigger than the Thomases of the pivot so there’s actual extra room which creates up and down rock from the factory. Also the stop pin was a little shorter than it should be. With my mini Bugout I have no problems down in it in and it’s staying perfectly tuned. But the modifications did further enhanced som of these issues.

    If you had a better mic/lighting set up and added a little bit of production value, like intros and outros etc...your channel would blow up! Really good review my man thanks or the info

      I liked the video. I despise the “bumper music” that many others use in an attempt to make their videos look like the ones on channel 8. Keep up the good work and avoid any kind of filler. Folks watching these videos appreciate you “ getting to the point” and do not want to waste their time wading through all the fluff while getting to the point. I am a fan of Benchmade Bugout knives. I like them because they are very lightweight, made of quality materials, and they cut. All the rest is just not air.

    One thing to mention about the warranty is that changing the scales voids the warranty correct? I think they will still tune up the blade, but as far as the action, springs, etc... you'd be on the hook for that. But then I've always wondered, if you knew that and put the old scales back on before sending it in...? Definitely something to think about as it is one of the strengths of the knife as you mentioned - The butterfly tax comes with its advantages. I just picked up a blue Bugout to use and abuse camping, so I'm more than willing to pay for the warranty and put it to the test. Thanks for the review, you gave us a lot to think about.

      After a year, is your Bugout holding up well? Were there any problems? I'm really interested in what this knife can do in outdoor.

    • @NoNameFish247
      @NoNameFish247 Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@neongirl it’s a great little pocket knife. Love the light weight and the blue color really grew on me. Action gets smoother and smoother. It was fast becoming my every day carry. But I too was excited to see what it could do outdoors. I broke the blade in two places trying to split wood with a baton on the first attempt and never got it fixed. I still probably will but I’ve been too busy. I don’t think it’s a knife you should buy specifically to take abuse but I’d still say it’s great for what it is. It’s a better than average steel, ultralight weight pocket knife with a sweet, flickable action. I wanted to know what the limits of it were before I trusted it in a survival scenario. Well, I found them. 😁 I wish that I would’ve put the warranty to the test but alas, I haven’t yet.
