    Due to various small errors I’ve noticed in this video, a second version has been created. It includes some better quality audio as well as a piece missing from this video. Once that video starts getting traction, this one will be unlisted.

      It's for a very simple reason. Only one member of the Collective had a say in what The Final Shape would be, one dominating will bending the minds of its cohorts to its every whim. The Dissenters were the ones aware of this fact, aware that this was not a communal desire, but a singular ambition. The "We... I... I don't understand" was the one lead mind realizing it had lost, that it was the only one who lost, and that every other member of the Collective was content to die because The Final Shape was not the contract, the soul binding agreement they had agreed to.
      Funny, isn't it, that a hive mind's leader would die all alone.
      Fitting, ironic, and delectable storytelling.

      @@jonahsturdivant4488 Interesting read of the what happened. I also saw read of how that while "The Witness" is aware that its a culmination of various minds, it possesses its own consciousness, and when its destroyed it came to realize that the Precursor race as whole regretted its existence and that it was all alone.

      @@jonahsturdivant4488I just saw it as the Witness shrinking down to one person cause the Guardians essentially unraveled it and all the little strings within it are being set free. Euphony describes it like this and the Echos are left over clumps from the Witness.

      @@jonahsturdivant4488I think it's just the Dissenters gaining a more powerful voice within the Witness hivemind. Throughout the campaign, more and more minds start to dissent and realise that the final shape is not feasible. By the time of Excision, only a few radical Penitents actually fought on, and the "Cornerstones" we have to defeat are physical manifestations of those few remaining fanatics. So when the final blow gets landed, it's only one guy that still believes and fights on. Sad but fitting.

      I listened so many times and I think there are 3 voices, it took me remembering old orchestration music concepts to get my ear to finally pin it down and it surprised me as there is one very deep male voice, one medium register male voice (The primary) but the middle is a smooth female voice! For whatever reason imaging that really just kept the intrigue so high with it.
      I loved how well the voice compliments the inhumanness and inability to comprehend what it was and how it was like a walking paradox. When Zavala confronts it in the dark trying to join them and Terge says "I SEE WHAT YOU ARE" , and the Witness actually sounds almost friendly and curious': What do you see?
      To then destroy him a few seconds later.

    • @10THPROPHET
      @10THPROPHET Před měsícem +12

      Thing is, that happens due to the Witness now becoming more enraged since the guardians were saying "no" to it repeatedly and proceeded to attack it. It became absolutely pissed off and utterly desperately and was in its dying throws during Excision

    • @TheWorstType
      @TheWorstType Před měsícem +3

      @@10THPROPHET I know. didn't explain myself clearly - it wasn't that I was saying I didn't understand why The Witness was angry. The Witness was the first antagonist in Destiny that really embodied true menace ,he was alien but human enough, he had large soft eyes associated with gentility yet carried himself in a way that reinforced uncanny valley. forgetting Destiny for a moment I'd say The Witness is one of the top 10 best sci-fi boss characters I've ever seen and the design, history, intent and voice is absolutely superb.
      He doesn't demonstrate the same style or way of thinking when he talks to anyone, he causes catastrophes with a flick of his finger and he is able to inflict a world of catastrophic stasis through gross mutiliation of entire planets frozen in time forever - all while believing he is being benevolent.
      Of course it was angry - not at the guardian saying 'no" - it was because it was losing. The Witness had done everything, planned for everything, all potential obstacles were accounted for like when the Radial Vale got destroyed and The Witness knew he could use the Ghost. No matter the obstacle, it was ready.
      It wasn't that the guardian said no, or even that it took the guardian as a threat (remember it was in the Traveler for at least a year) but it was understanding that the dissenting voices would reveal their weakness. Their fear and anger was in the realization that their plan was not perfect and there was a possibility they would lose. Even after they had come so far and were able to absorb the Travelers power too
      All of that aside, there is basic psychology here that anger produces emotions in us at a certain level, and other levels anger just appears less menacing or even silly.
      There were several times The Witness was angry and yelled, but it retained his dark malice, like at the dissidents when yelling "WE ARE ONE" or "WE CUT YOU OUT" - but yelling to the guardians for the 100000th "I AM YOUR MAKER", "WHY DO YOU RESIST" is just textbook final boss nonsense and this very cold, calculating monstrosity of a conceptual villain became "final boss fodder"

      @@TheWorstTypeto me I think the answer lies in how we defeat the witness. Since we destroy the statues and we “cut” the chorus of voices away, until there is only one. If you listen to its voice in excision you’ll notice the extra voices in the background of his voice are gone. Replaced only with one. A voice that is fearful of its own death. But also angry that its plan eons in the making is unfolding before its eyes.
