- Hello guys!
I know I said I would do this live, but I had some troubles with my recording audio and streaming (desktop audio) so I had to make this a 'private' recording and use another software
Therefore, this is a separate upload, as a whole video
The purpose of this video was to teach a brand new player who never played anything close to the wargame genre how to play the game
I decided to go ahead and explain him how the game works during a video call
I hope this will be useful to anyone starting the game!

Personally, I still prefer panzer corps and order of battke because of graphics and more strategy like encirclement. But I admit the game is still improving .

Supportive fire is the staple of playing HOS and is a huge reason why artillery will always be a huge part of pushing and defending 😂🎉

PanzerCorps and Order of Battle are good games; I personnally prefer OoB but most people prefer PanzerCorps. But they absolutely lack big maps like there were in 1984 original Panzer General or The Operational Art of War. Also Valentin is trying to add more and more things as time goes by, so in some way, OoB and PC are more tactical and HoS is more grand operational/strategic.
Of course, many aspects were oversimplified in HoS and didn't seem realistic at the beginning, there were also mistakes or bugs, but the result as a whole works fine, and I also love the style and graphics and the sheer amount of scenarios. Definitely a must have. Also the price is a big incentive. PC 1 Gold is an oldie now and can easily be bought for 5 bucks, but OoB and PC 2 have many DLCs and are very expensive.
Excellent game, i wish we can fast forward when the enemy is playing.
Also regarding this youtube tutorial i wish it was full screen so we can see the text on the map clearly.

Have you checked out the settings? There is a 'Fast AI' setting, have you turned it ON?

I have a question im playing this game for 1 Month and i need to know what the generals or HQ idk how to call them do? I really don't understand what are they are for they give boost or something? Thats the only thing i want to know soo far. Love your game dude❤🥰
The generals give flat bonuses to units around them, if you select a general, it'll show the range, and it's damage like units, are put towards the units available le in its available area, it use to be % I believe so 15 soft attack use to be 15% extra for units in its hex range, but it got changed to flat bonuses I believe, so keep them alive, and a AA nearby them 😅😂
I hope this helped and is correct, as the game balance is always frequently changed 😂

QoL [quality of life] request, can you make it so if you want to buy multiple units of the same type you can hit a + or - button. Similar to Panzer General 2.
You can do that already by pressing on the unit that is in the basket, it will simply duplicate it

If you prefer the old blue color for the German counters, there's a mod on the Steam Workshop that can bring it back for you.

PS: The new color is called Feldgrau and basically is the color of the german uniform of that time, and how german counters are represented in most wargames.
