Another good tip for staying in hotels. Always stay on the far side of a city if you plan on getting back on the road during rush hour. So if you're heading west and staying in Omaha, stay on the west side so you don't have to battle rush hour first thing.

Driving from WA state to Alabama in a few days. Cutting through Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Missouri, Kansas, etc. Excited to clear my mind and do some sight seeing, been going through a lot of stuff recently. Your video helped a lot, thanks!

I drove from Texas to Indiana 3 times last year! That’s approximately 1200 miles + 14 hours total not including stops. I always make sure I fuel up like right before I get on the road. That way I can buy some snack, water and energy drinks. I try not to drink so much because I only want to make a stop if I have to fuel up again or pull over( somewhere safe) to take a cat nap. For my car I only have to stop twice for gas; once in Arkansas and another in Missouri. I MIGHT have to stop again in Illinois but it all depends.
    It’s a looonnngggg drive but I love traveling so I don’t mind.

Can you use Public restrooms during COVID? Looking for a portable toilet now online for a 12' Penske rental.

Hi Paloma! Sorry I missed your message at the time - I was able to find many public restrooms at gas stations and rest stops that were open. Hope you were able to find something!

You are probably not going to like this comment. But, as someone who has driven across the USA several times along AND with other people in the car I found your tips useless. First you should have indicated which interstate you were using and where you began. And you should have had your video set to record some of the scenery along the way in addition to or instead of just your pretty face. In all of my drives I always did touring/stops at National Parks and other attractions along the way. But I think my recommendations would apply regardless of whether you did sightseeing stops. First, plan to drive during daylight hours only; start each day's drive about 7:00 AM and end it about 5:00 to 6:00 PM so you can get into a motel before they fill up. Motel reservations highly recommended for states west of the Miss river; there are not as many places to stay. Always have a map or AAA trip tic so you know where the rest stops, gasoline, and food stops are. That's really important west of the Miss river states. Pack your own cooler with water, soft drinks, fruit, and fixin's to make sandwiches; so you don't have to stop at fast food places. Remember that when driving in the west gasoline stations are not as plentiful as they are east of the Miss river, so plan to stop for gas when (or soon after) your gas gauge gets to half full. And more gasoline and rest room stops will make you more refreshed afterwards; a 10-15 break does wonders.

@@Victoria.Zawitkowski , Yeah that would be good. I have driven across six times and covered almost all of the east/west interstates. I have so much to tell that the video would be about an hour ...LOL A video would be a lot of work, but I do have most of my recent trips on photos in the Shutterfly web site.

Please tell ur brother to switch over to Tylenol instead of Advil. Taking Advil for a prolonged time can cause long term medical issues on top of the medical issues he’s trying to cure/ prevent.

Thanks for the input! I probably wasn't clear - he only took a lowered dosage for the days of driving. He doesn't normally take it
