- Here's a woodworking project that anyone can tackle, a bandsaw box (aka bandsawn box). The order that you complete the steps is key, but if you watch the video a couple times, you'll likely find success on your very first try. DIY projects are great for woodworkers, especially with the right tutorial to help with all the details.
The main tool you'll need of course is a bandsaw, and the Laguna 14|12 is featured in the video. Make this exact box, or use the concepts to design your own! Made with walnut, maple and zebrawood, the contrast and interesting grain steal the show. Follow along as Willie Sandry, The Thoughtful Woodworker, shows you how to build this interesting little display box.

I’m excited to try this on my 1412. Looks very rewarding and not stressful. Thanks
That’s pretty cool.
Looking good Trooper!
Great video, never made a box that size just usually smaller ones but I liked your design. Need to try it, thanks
Thanks for sharing have a blessed day in the name of Jesus
LOVE it! Its different and unlike most bandsaw boxes and could hold something and would look good on a fire place mantel. What was the approx size of the blank you started with because i like the size you finished with.
Hi Ken, the overall box dimensions are 14" long x 5.25" high x 4.25" thick. Thanks!
Use masking tape or even packing tape. So much cleaner than glueing directly to wood.
Tell ya a better way to do the pattern rather than the spray adhesive. I make a copy of the patter on the printer or copier and set the darkness to a little darker. I then lay the pattern printed side down and take a hot iron and iron over the pattern with a little pressure, the heat will transfer the pattern to the wood, check it out, it’s the way I do it
Great idea!
@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker yea it works well, the heat from the iron transfers the toner to the wood. I haven’t used in in quite awhile but I used to make toys and that’s how I transferred the patterns 👍
My shop dog just finds gloves and other things to chew on while she is bored and covered in saw dust. Still more helpful than my shop cat.🤷
can we order direct rather than through suppliers?
Current backlog puts orders out until june.
If there are supplier backlogs then none avail direct via business logic - what business would hold items back when suppliers have orders? All machinery companies have massive delays worldwide due to demand. Cheers from UK
