It's Day 3 and finally, time to start digging into this CBR 300R and our first step is to get the engine that "blew up" on the highway removed from the frame so we can start the inspection process. The guys also find out that the bike had a few other surprises that the previous owner probably didn't know!

Blowing up a Honda engine requires a special kind of talent.
Really does
Are those that bomb proof???
@@cubul32 they're anti terrorist items 😂😂
@@greyanaroth Good to hear. Any idea of CB300r or any 300CC honda engine could bolt right into CBR125 CC frame?
@@cubul32 nope. Not sure how that would work either
Just did a full engine refresh on a (basically barn condition) Honda PA50 "Camino". On those kind of bikes the engine literally is just bolted onto the frame by one bolt and the rear shock absorbers then a fuelhose, throttle cable and a couple electrical connectors to disconnect before the whole engine and rearwheel assembly is off the frame, took me an afternoon to clean everything and disassemble it all before splitting the engineblock to fit new bearings and such :)
STRAIGHT AWESOMENESS WOW CAN’T WAIT FOR THE REST OF THE VIDEOS💯Stay Safe🤙🏻Be blessed🙏🏻
Great job with the garage. Enjoying the new location so far.
I'm more on Brian's level of engine removal, removed mine, removed others, remove car engines too often. this was one of the easier ones, since you know, you could lift it yourself. as far as the new format, I'm good with this, as I don't need the filler from patreon as it's stuff I already know. I just want to see what broke in that engine.
In the Patreon video they mentioned there was an oil leak so Brian thinks low oil probably caused it. We’ll see how blue everything is when they open it.
Enjoying the content guys. Thx.
I'm kinda sad cause I really enjoyed the longer episodes, and I still enjoy these but I haven't got the money for patreon and I miss the 40, 50 and 60 minute episodes :( like I used to get really excited for a Tuesday but now I've kinda lost that
3 bikes, 6 years of 20 minute videos, here we go
Really? I still think the video is too long. That could of been chopped down to 6mins. Loads of b roll that wasn’t needed.
@@AndrewLynch9 that's Chase's style thou, he does b roll
Blown rod bearing I bet. Identical oil to my Dr200 lol, gonna be fun watching you do a crank and case bearings !
Chase. I can say I like the 15. Min vids. It’s quick and to the point and I’m a huge Honda fan. Plan on becoming a member in the future. Great content man!
Never been more proud to be a CBR300R owner.
Amazing as always :)
Never pulled an engine, but I did put one back into a CBX. It was, an interesting experience. Currently getting ready for my first 25K maintenance/service on my current bike.
Chase, man,in the old days you were my favorite youtuber but now you have changed. Can you please do one of your old moto vlogs alone or with yummi
Yummi don’t ride anymore
It's always much more fun and rewarding to pull things apart and fix them rather than throwing money at replacing them, this will be a good series.
I’ve removed and rebuilt many an engine, most recently did the top end on my 02 KTM 400 EXC.
I think i like your new video format situation!!!
I'm an ex race team mechanic so yeah I've removed a few, lol
You're doing great Chase
btw you could use dishwasher soap to remove oil from hand
This only kinda works, and you'll still have grime around/under your fingernails for days. It's way easier to just wear gloves when doing this kind of work.
There are also these "gloves in a bottle" type lotions that can be used, to make it easier to clean your hands later. A little prep goes a long way.
Hey Chase,I can't remember the website you mentioned in a past video about Motorcycle manuals. I would appreciate you reminding me. Thanks. Great content as always. 🏍💨💨💨
Great video!! Question...where did you get the red jack you used when taking the engine out of the frame?
Never completely removed an engine. I have disassembled the cylinder and heads from the block back in the day.....it was right after the last Pterodactyl flew. A two stroke that had the habit of eating piston rings.
I'm somewhere between brian and you. I dropped the engine on an air cooled bike once , so it spared me the removal of hoses and such
You know what, I think I like this format better. Having the fuuuuuull "I remove this bolt, and this cable here" is only useful if you plan to do the exact same mod list. Here, it's broad enough that it could apply to any engine removal on any bike.
I pulled the engine out of my 2003 AJS DD50E on my own in my back garden with nothing but my toolbox to put the bike on
Hey what's your plans with the tires? If you're going to replace them, and if they're still pretty decent, I'd buy them from you for my CBR250R. Mine only have about one season left in them.
never removed an engine on a bike, but i've torn one almost completely apart and have done engine swaps in cars so I'm pretty sure I can do it on a bike just haven't needed to yet
ime about half way between you and brian ive pulled lots of engines from 50cc to 1100cc but i take my time and double check everything so couldnt do it as a job (but i am the local fixer :D )
I'm just here for Brain. 😎
random question but how tall are you? im trying to factor that in with my height for your ninja 650 review.
thanks!
I've only ever removed the engine out of my 1982 XS650SJ after the head cracked. Found out it was very poorly maintained, I am still in the process of rebuilding the bike all it needs now is paint and cleaning.
That's awesome man. Sounds like you are nearly done!
@@chaseontwowheels yeah man it has been a long road and a lot of learning. I wish I had a Brian (brain) to tell me everything I was about to do wrong. I reference several of your videos for inspiration. Bobber painting for sure, the turn signals on the Monster might end up going on my bike in the end. Keep it up Chase.
What riding shoes do you wear?
hey one more thought on this build, y'all going to put a big bore kit on it, more power, lol
Constructive feedback: Please try and get a lens or set up the aperture so that everyone/everything in the room is focused. Your camera sometimes feels low on shapness.
Yooo me and a friend were wondering how do you guys hear each other on the road do you both have microphones or can you just hear each other without any thing
Helmet headsets, you can pair your helmet with a friend via bluetooth
When are actual full blown RBR episodes coming out?
The full length episodes are on Patreon now and CZcams is the shorter 15-20 minute episodes.
I'm loving these condensed WRB episodes. Great work, and I'm excited to see the rest of this build!
Pretty sure there was a power wheels logo on that engine
I removed the motor out of my honda cb750 twice and am currently rebuilding it. it is pretty difficult to take in and out with it being a very heavy 4 cylinder motor. I would say I am somewhere in between you and brian but I am still learning lots myself.
I used to lay my cb750 on its side to remove the engine, and put it back. You may find it easier :)
Wrench time finally YAAAAY! Brian be slipp'n tank is included with fluids
I'm 16 and took the engine out of my crf250l, looking to replace it with a cbr300 engine but i can't find one
Dam shiny flakes in the oil 😓💀
Could you put a CBR300r engine in a CBR125?
Removed the engine from both my vtr1000 and vf750c
I've never done a motorcycle engine, but I can pull an EJ2x Subaru engine in about 2 or 3 hours.
Chase use your words bro....or cut back on the caffine lol
I took apart a Grom engine with my boy.
here before the noti lol
Yuurrrppp engine swapped an 06 daytona 675 engine for an 08 675 engine.. cuz MOAR POWAH! and previous owner destroyed the old engine!! Not too bad as long as your thorough
wait, can you bit a bigger ingine in that? OOOHHHH can you put that 300 in a grom!!! =D
If you think that engine is small, try a 50cc engine of a pitbike xD
Pateron not supported in my country
2015-2016 CBR 300 has got recall on it for bearing retainer problem...
crank bearing
dam that engine is tiny!
It is, in some countries they see it as a big bike ,🤦♀️ but he'll I ride a 250 and I'm happy may get a cb650r or a gsxs750, or a cheap used z900 as a upgrade but I'm never selling the 250, make a track bike .
why such short episodes ? i mean if this is all its gonna be it isnt worth it ,i cant afford to do patreon .you started here why only patreon
Yeah... if theyre all going to be like this i just wont bother in thr future. Showed literally nothing. 15 minute music video.
riveted master link, is best master link.
Honestly this new WBR season doesn't get me excited or interested at all... prefer the other seasons wayyyyyy more...
It sucks they are pushing patreon so hard.
@@SeanSR can't agree more
...it sucks that they are pushing the way they fund the show you want to watch so hard? #logic
Sorry to hear that man. Can't please everyone. Maybe you'll enjoy next season more.
Well you pay for a season and he can do it the way you want
Never removed a motorcycle engine only an old trucks. Seems this would be easier! #outrocrew
Disco Oil of DOOM
awww its a WIIIDUUU BITTY Engine =P
Some place in between probably only 18yrs old
Can i have the 300 engine for my grom :) or ill take the other engine. :)
I would of sold it on eBay for a grom swap out it would sell fast exspeclly if you sold it completely like you pulled it out. Every time you see them for sale there half apart Wich is never a good sign how no what there or not 😬 and hard to sell any of it after in less it's all parted then it will take some time. ✌️👍👌
Good luck in ATL...be sure to take a knee. Luv ur videos and first rides. Very informative...TY
Have never removed an engine and never had any interest in them prior to motorcycles. I am leeching Brian's brain as much as possible.
I'm really liking the smaller episode size. Long live the new format!
First
These quicker CZcams videos wbr sucks I like the older style videos.
I've never touched a motorcycle....
The Wbr last episode was a week ago, we were waiting for the next episode and here chase releasing one for 14mints?? not great content please make longer videos with more content like before.
There's a 50 min episode over on Patreon. Here's a link to make it easy for ya: bit.ly/WRBpatreon
Says it every video
I'm more of the inbetween.. Not 100% proficient. but I can hold my own. so if brian is the top and you are more the bottom (LOL) just in this scale I would be closer to brian just by a smidge cause I do not know all the correct term
Rant - Do the two other guys actually do anything? All I see is Brian and Chase working. At least one of them could film or something. Also the millions of b roll shots get tiring. Sorry dude rant over.
Is it just me or is it so cringe to watch this guy talk!? Man you been doing this for like a decade!
