It's not only the best character model for him but the figure also happens to capture it extremely well. Will that be enough to get casual collectors to buy yet another non-Super Saiyan monkey man from space?

I still have PTSD flashbacks from when I spent two hours trying to order this figure from the P-Bandai broken ass website. Those were dark times, man. I was one of the lucky ones who got one. It was worth it.
There was a second batch so pretty much everyone had a chance to get it. Gotta give kudos to bandai for that
They finally named this transformation "Ultra Instinct Omen" according to the manga.
Its always been called either omen or sign officially

Jesus I still remember the hype that was behind this figure. It was quite an experience. I remember ordering 4 cuz I thought "yeh this shit gonna get expensive later on" so I said fuck it, 4 to get him in every pose that I need
Maybe with all the Namek saga figures they’ve been doing maybe they’ll use this body for a base Goku from the first part of the Frieza fight or a second awakened Goku regular release

I like Omen more than Mastered UI. It reminds me of Kaioken which I really like. I think UI Omen might be my favorite Dragon Ball Super form/Technique other than Super Saiyan God.
They could have at least repackaged the kamehameha effect that came with regular release or a ultra instinct aura effect. But glad to finally have the blue shirt look for Goku in the collection. Easily one of the most iconic looks for the character. Feel like we will see a new super saiyan Goku (Namek) using this mold with some minor changes and maybe an updated super saiyan head sculpt. As much as the awakening Goku figure still holds up, I feel like the head sculpt for that figure is outdated. It’s the same super saiyan Goku head sculpt they used earlier in the line and the new super saiyan blue hair design is more accurate for Goku. They haven’t done the more muted hair color before like we see in the anime so maybe this will be the first time we see that in the Figuarts line.
also needs the pupil-less screaming face from when he first transforms and the gritted teeth looking at frieza face too, it's such an iconic scene but that specific look hasn't been recreated which is crazy
I'm definitely gonna be picking this guy up, I'd rather have this version than the MuI SHF Goku. Incomplete Ui look and felt more like an angel technique and he has more expressive faces and looks more screen accurate.

I really wish they’d rerelease that body mold at least. I wanted to recreate moments like Goku’s first Super Sayian transformation, the Buu Saga Spirit Bomb, mastered Super Sayian Blue vs Zamasu in the manga, that sort of thing.
Something I like to think about with the leg colors, is how irl, your legs when constantly covered by something, in this case it's goku's gi, your legs won't get as dark and tan as say your arms. Just saying this so maybe it'll be a little less annoying

It was called Ultra Instinct Omen, and it's color edition cause it's a repaint of the regular ultra instinct, it does has a different torso, but it's not the first time an exclusive has different sculpture, the exclusive kid Goku (the blue one) had a different belt, of course is the most drastic change, and personally I do think that will see a regular release of this transformation, but I just wanted to clarify XD
You didn't clarify. You said something that is incorrect. This is not a repaint of mui Goku.
@@AnthonysCustoms It is, the head sculpt is the same, the pants are the same, the faces are the same, it just changes the looking to the side ones to closed eyes, the belt thing is the same, without the blue part obviously, the arms are the same, as I said it only changes the torso, and again, the kid Goku with the blue outfit changed the belt, and that was consider a repaint even we hadn't have that belt ever before. I know that the shirt is a bigger change that a belt, but for Tamashii Is still a recolor even if the sculpture changed.

I think this is a premium color edition based on the mastered UI. Even if they are not exactly the same.

I waited for your review, weighed out the options, waited a few days, took the MUI legs off my figure and painted the orange black, took the blue belt, SSGSS broly movie Vegeta torso, SSJ Awakening goku arms and neck, demonical trunks long hair. I love this figure and needed the legs again anyways. got him for 129...I hope they remake goku with new parts after this guy though-his articulation feels super dated but balanced. like mario in smash bros

Why all gokus are coming with this issue on the leg? My 2.0 and Ultra Instinct both can't properly move it, funny is that Goku Awakening is one of the figures with the best articulation to date.

Love the reviews man, particularly the dragon ball content. I have a question though for those who collect SH figuarts and the Dragon Stars.
I'm an adult collector so tend to try and get most, particularly the dragon stars as they're cheaper and tend to pick up the odd SH figuarts if it isn't a figure available in dragon stars.
I just wanted to ask which is better when it comes to playability? My little brother is 9 and loves the Drago Stars series and currently owns a few figure-rise and 1 SH figuarts figure but I just wanted to check if it was worthwhile him saving up for the likes of Nappa, Full power Jiren, great ape vegeta, Master Roshi, etc. Thanks.
figuarts are more expensive and more delicate and are intended for adults. Dragon stars would definitely be better for kids.

It's a shame the arms can't reach level with the shoulder, also the arms don't come across the chest and a limited waist bend, I was disappointed the right leg didn't lift too far, I think shf are having some QC issues at the moment? otherwise I would have picked him up, so thank you, you have saved me some money.

although I can see how it's /somewhat/ of a repainted ultra instinct, it isn't really the same figure, so maybe it'll be similar to what they did with broly and release him in a bunch of different colors. that'd be kinda odd though. this is a different figure to MUI imo

Hey my goku ( Saiyan raised on earth) figure has a slight color change on the arms. The skin color of him is now the color of the awakening goku and his elbows look like the original colors and when I switch his hands it just looks so weird. Does anyone know why this is happening?

This Event Exclusive Color Edition in my opinion is the first time they’re doing a new figure but the legs are the same as the MUI goku so you can say it’s an exclusive version of that

I know you arent a fan of them Anthony, but demoniacal fit is doing this figure with extra accessories for those of us outside the US that couldnt get him because apparently tamashii lacks brain cells when it comes to selling the most sought after figures lol

@@AnthonysCustoms After looking at it a bit more, they still look stumpy to me. When compared to other Goku figures, his foreams still seem off. I'm sure it really is just me, but they just look off. Maybe its a combination of the area of the hinge and the indent for the bicep when bent, but I just can't shake this thought.
I'm probably going to die contemplating whether or not I think they're stumpy.

I didn't buy him cause he cost wayyyyy to much so I just bought the tenacios martial artist demonical fit version for only 50$ compared to 100-300$ I for real I saw one for 300$
