  • There are many great neighborhoods in Toulouse. I enjoy returning to les Carmes whenever I visit. From a covered market, to small streets lined with colorful buildings, a church without its bell tower, many discoveries await.

    I’ve been there with my wife this month. Really liked the easygoing lifestyle and friendly nature of the people of Toulouse. Lots of things to see and do. Really enjoyed your video, watching places we visited😊

    From what I can see in the video,Toulouse is such a serene, elegant and welcoming city. I have spent a lot of time in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Turkey...not so much in France - so, I need to change this! I think I would fall deeply In Love with this gorgeous place!

    Just finished reading a very good historical novel by Kate Mosse, a great deal of which takes place in Toulouse, called The Burning Chambers. It is set in 1562 and involves the conflict between the Catholics and Huguenots. So your photos and videos of Toulouse have been of special interest to me! The novel also takes place in Carcassonne. I highly recommend the novel to those interested in French history! Thanks, as always, Vero, for the great walk!!👍

    I was pleasantly surprised at the design of the Marché des Carmes parking structure. I like the round design and having the market at street level. I ate several times in this neighborhood. Great quality food at reasonable prices where I ate.

      Yes, it's a lovely corner of Toulouse. Pretty young crowd too, but I guess that keeps us all young! ;-)

    Hello Véro, thanks for the video :)

      Welcome to France. It would be challenging to introduce these two cities in just a few words. My videos can only give you a taste. I recommend visiting for a few days before making a final decision. Good luck to you!

    Hi Vero! I am your new subscriber and happy that I came across your channel. Is Tolouse a good place to retire? If so, which neighborhood would you recommend? Thank you for any response you could provide.

    Thanks Vero for sharing! Do you have any good restaurants to recommend for duck breast in Toulo
    use?

    • @francewithvero
      @francewithvero  Před 2 lety

      I don't, as I don't eat duck breast often, but I am sure there are quite a few restaurants/bistros in Toulouse offering decent "magret de canard" (that's what duck breast is called there.) I enjoy dining (lunch or dinner) at "Mon Canard" near la place Saint Pierre, when I visit my hometown. Traditional food. Fair prices.
