I agree 💯 with everything you say. You helped me get my company off the ground and grow. I've actually grown to the point that I'm only keeping a half a days worth of mowing customers so that I can focus on the weed control and fertilization side of the business. Funny. I am 48 and my sons are 17 and 19. I help with their business. At least I know I've got another 10 years left in me :) They started out with a push lawn mower hanging out the back of a 2003 Honda CRV. Now they have a work truck and trailer with almost 100 customers. They are doing well. I get to spend a lot of time with my boys and they have a great customer base. You have to do a good job that is the bottom line. When you have two teen agers working so hard the customers love it. Kids don't want to work these days. Most people can't even turn a screw driver anymore. Leads to lots of opportunity. It feels great to be raising men. I'm sure you feel the same way with your son.

You hang in there have seen a lot of crazy things and even people refusing to pay after the services have been done. A wicked world
Thing I find is different areas (states) have different concept of a completed job and then the customers have different opinions. When I was in Ohio people mostly want the grass cut tall and bright green, but now that in Springfield ma, people mostly want the grass cut as short possible to go as long as possible between mowing services. In my springfield blowing leaves into woods is actually considered a form of littering and is fineable if caught by police. So situations different everywere.
Brother happy holidays to you and yours , I love watching your videos because that was my retiree job after 45 years and working for someone else . I got sick and my body just broke down , that is life but I’m happy mowing my own lawn with my rider . Just getting outside in the Spring and Summer and meeting another day is the best I can hope for . Take care and keep these videos coming . Thanks for sharing .

I gave up on the gator blades after I had to do 2 wet leaf clean ups. All they did was make a mess unlike what they normally do. I ended up going back to the high lift blades with the combination of the advanced chute blocker. The high lifts even do better with pine straw as well I've found than my gator blades.

Johny, it's been three or four months, and i decided to catch up on your videos. I was wondering if you ever thought about a mulch kit for your mowers during this time of year? I'm talking about a mulch kit with the wavy blades,...not the straight G5, G6 Oregon Gator blades. I know that you have the chute blocker,...but I think that a mulch kit will save you even more time than having to go over the yard two or three times. Gator Blades do produce a smaller clipping compared to a full sail blade when side discharging. But not near as small in one pass, when compared to a wavy blade. I was able to run that setup for the whole year at my place, and most of the year on another property,...and it worked pretty well for the most.

Great job, Johnny! Nice setup on your truck! How do you like the open setup compared to your enclosed trailer setup? I used to have an open trailer setup but changed and went to a box truck setup similar to that Penske truck that drove by on your video. My truck is a yellow Penske truck, though. I love the box truck setup because all my equipment is out of the weather, and it is locked up and out of sight and out of mind from theft. Have a Merry Christmas!

Narration while showing the work is the way it should be done. Narrations done while sitting in the cab or on the trailer, etc. are not interesting. Need to see the equipment/techniques in action. Excellent job.
