- Luke (@BallisticAviation ) is back at GunCon 2024 to talk with Stephen from Kinetic Development Group about their cutting-edge QD and M-LOK rail systems for virtually every firearm accessory out there. The KDG series of rails are compatible with most of the SCAR series of rifles and completely eliminate the Picatinny Sections at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions and replace them with a smooth and uniform mounting surface. KDG also produces return-to-zero QD optic mounts, and QD M-LOK mounts for other accessories like flashlights, bipods, grips, and even GoPro action cameras.

I've never in my life looked at my Mlok accessories and said "this is too hard to use, I want something less secure". I've been a KDG customer for years, but their QD Mlok mounts are a miss for me. Extremely expensive solution for a non-existant problem.
When he said they were $60-$70, I was hoping he was talking about the handguard. Silly me.
@@pickleeater3102 yeah I had a similar response when they first released them. I thought it was a typo or something. Then I confirmed both the pricing and the fact that the Kinect mounts don't actually have anything stabilizing their lockup against a sideways hit. Hard no.
I can see it being useful for bipods when like rucking or somethin, cuz those can add a big chunk of weight that throws the balance of the gun off. But for anything else…I can’t think of why I would want to quickly attach and detach my flashlight or my front grip or anything else like that.
Bipods and Go Pros are the only use case I see for them. But they seem great for those!
@@nikik5567 yes, but we've had good solid QD bipods for a LONG time in other formats that attach much more securely. I maintain these things are a solution for a problem that doesn't actually exist.

Wow the Scar is still alive? Even with the Jakl release basically being the same thing but cheaper?
I've seen a few reviewers shit on the Jakl. Main thing sticking out to me is Hops review in which the 1913 slots are too small to mount many optics.
I was hoping the Jakl would be great, but seems like quality control isn't there.
@@sahzookey PSA is dropping gen2 jakl very soon which fixes pretty much everything the beta testers (gen 1 lol) complained about. On their official channel they just dropped a video about the jakl 300blk and they also go over the gen2 changes
I mean the Jakl is long stroke (for some reason), and the SCAR is short stroke. The Jakl is also made by PSA. If people want a budget SCAR, they’re going to get a Bren, not a JAKL.
