      I honestly don't know. I don't have a TC Encore and I don't know if they make a version with an MLOK section out front. If they do and that's what you have then it should. I will say I have gotten several comments about the short rail section I showed in this video coming off of some MLOK handguards. As a result, I now recommend the longer rail section that takes up 2 MLOK slots instead of the shorter one from this video. I'm sorry I couldn't give you a better answer but I hope this helps.

    Sylvan arms makes a version of that adaptor about $20 cheaper. I looked at the Larue and ADM qd mounts but between one of those and the bipod you are looking at $200 and at that point you may as well pony up the couple extra bucks for an Atlas.

    I've been looking for exactly this for a while! I was in the process of adding a picatinny section on the mlok then getting a qd picatinny to picatinny section for the bipod. But adding 2 layers of picatinny didn't feel right. I knew there was a better solution and thanks to you i finally found it.

      I'm glad this helped you! I really wish MagPul would make a QD version that mounts directly to MLOK, but I've enjoyed this solution as well. Especially given the fact that good bipods are expensive, it's nice to be able to easily move them from one gun to another.

I don't have a ton of different rails to test, but I wonder if it could be a spec issue on their particular rail or tolerance stacking. You're very welcome. As I said to a previous commenter, I've gotten many comments on this video, some saying the solution works great and some saying that the Kinect rail pops off when the shooter leans into the bipod or (in 1 case) under recoil heavier than 5.56. I have only tested this on my 5.56 AR, and even then only briefly (this was with 2020 ammo prices after all), so maybe I missed a potential problem, but I haven't had those problems. Mine has only popped off once, and that was when placed at the very end of the handguard on my AR, with the gun propped up on the floor in my living room, pointing downward, with me leaning into (more like laying on) the stock as if I were about to shoot almost straight down. I believe it's a tolerance issue with some MLOK slots on some rails, but I'd like to do more testing to be sure. Until then, it's a potential issue that I do want people to be aware of.

I've only had that issue when I put the bipod on my floor, stood above the gun, and leaned into it, but it seems like it can be a thing based on the comments. Could be a spec issue with the handguard or the Kinect piece. Or both. But as of now, I'm recommending the 6 slot (2 MLOK slot Kinect rail for this rather than the shorter version shown in this video.

If it still has the same problem, then contact Kinetic. Or you could start by contacting them and asking their customer service department if they've heard of similar issues. If I were a betting man, I'd guess it was more likely an out of spec rail than an out of spec QD picatinny section, but it honestly could be either. How much is QD rail?

      @countryboyguns  Před 2 lety

      I have a link in the description that will take you to the rail on Amazon. They currently have them for $49.99. You might be able to shop around and find it cheaper, but I can't post links to any gun accessory sites on CZcams.

    Doesnt work. I tried this and it pops off from the recoil when bipod is attached to Kinect QD.

    • @countryboyguns
      @countryboyguns  Před 2 lety

      I didn't have that experience, but the only guns I have to test it on are 5.56. I've had a few comments that it pops off on some rails when put under a decent forward load. What caliber were you shooting and who makes the handguard (if it's an AR variant)?

      @@countryboyguns SCAR 17s with KDG MREX MK2

    • @countryboyguns
      @countryboyguns  Před 2 lety

      First of all, kudos. I want a SCAR 17 so bad I can taste it. Second, Thank you for sharing your experience. Again, mine has only "popped off" when I propped it up, barrel down, on the floor in my living room in leaned into it, but I've only fired it on an AR with .223 ammo. I do believe it has more to do with MLOK section spec coupled with the normal variance in tolerance in the Kinect rail sections that exists with any modern manufactured part. That being said, I could be totally wrong. I wish I had access to more guns in more calibers that I could use this system with for further testing. If I do find myself in that position in the future (and if MagPul doesn't render the idea moot by introducing a QD MLOK version of this bipod before then) I will absolutely do a much more extensive test. Until then, I'll just apologize to you and the others with a similar experience and continue hoping that this is a relatively rare occurrence.

      @@countryboyguns i analyzed the issue and its with the springs that come in the KDG Kinect, they arent stiff enough. I ordered some 3rd party springs and gana try switchin them out, otherwise just gana return the Kinect 🤙

    Not recommended for bipod on calibers greater than 5.56.

    • @countryboyguns
      @countryboyguns  Před 2 lety

      I haven't tested that personally, but I could see where that might be the case. What happened when you used this setup with larger calibers?

      @@countryboyguns My personal experience is the bipod fell off my AR10 (while shooting). I took the QD pic rail apart to see if there was something wrong with it and realized the stepped rod in the middle doesn't seem to have any purpose even thought it's got a spring behind it. When I checked their website to see what it does I saw they don't recommend using these for calibers over 5.56.
      Perhaps my hand guard is too thick (Aero Precision Atlas). I can grab the bipod legs and wrench this thing right off with no difficulty at all.
      If you're not going to load up the bipod these things are very well made and work great otherwise. I have the 3 slot version which probably doesn't help either. I could see a longer one having a little more holding power...perhaps.
      Now I have a bolt on segment of pic rail and am shopping for a QD pic riser.

      Lol, I'm no expert either, so you're in good company. That's interesting, I've had other comments saying similar things about it popping off. I have a 2 MLOK section rail, so I might give that a try to see if the longer one makes a difference. I've only had it pop off once, and I was pushing it pretty hard with the barrel down on my floor. Aside from that, it hasn't ever budged on me. I do wonder if it's all due to some rails having different specs...
