Very helpful and instructive video. There's almost no information about Isuzu's vacuum pump, so thanks for posting. This was an excellent guide for my vacuum pump replacement today. Two minor thoughts to add: 1. I disconnected the fan shroud immediately above the vacuum pump for greater access 2. I used a small magnet at the end of the 13mm bolts to help guide them in. I kept dropping them when doing by hand alone. thanks,
@@MC-dj7ri the pumps we had were factory ordered from isuzu. All of the trucks we had were Gm 6.0 and 6.6 Powered gas trucks. I believe the diesel is a completely different configuration.
GM is supposed backed ordered 2+ months on pumps. The only place i could find one was on Amazon. $89.00. First one lasted 60 miles. So i ordered a second. That one lasted 50 miles. 2019 Isuzu 6.0 gas.
@@bensanson5992 the brake booster light goes off and on on mine. same with the electric pump screaming. i have vacuum at the belt drive pump. idk how much tho. pedal feels normal. listened to everythong with a stethoscope. starting to think its either the belt pump or the vacuum sensor
@@bensanson5992 I have bought a cheap ones and two from the dealership but same . I was wondering if a filter between the hose could be stuck and blocking air coming tru . I’ll check those sensors Thanks

thanks,
They also sell a vacuum pump kit with a retro fit pulley. I've done a ton of these. They are so defective we stock them at our shop.
Where can the kit be purchased? Is the kit the same for diesel and gas? Thanks for any info.

@@smallchunkaground2071 cool man. Thank you for the response.
@smallchunkaground2071
Do you have a part # or more info on the upgraded pump kit?

What was the part number? I can find some dorman ones but the websites say they aren't the right one so just wanna verify before I buy it anyways
Great Video! Anyone know if it’s possible to rebuild these?
Does a bad pump squeal as well?
It can if the bearings go bad
How much vacuum should it have when it is pressed on ? Complaint won’t stop and buzzer goes off
Mine was 20 to 25
Part number on the pump? I get a bunch of buzzing when I turn the key to run, after start it goes away
So that sounds like it doesn't have vacuum and then builds it. Look for a leak
what are the symptoms that led you to the vacuum pump? im having issues with low vacuum on my 2014 6.0
The brake booster light screaming, and then I checked vacuum, found none. Checked the lines, they were good checked the pump

An OEM Isuzu pump is over $1,200.00
I've only gotten about two years out of the aftermarket pumps that cost $225.00ish.
I'd like a better solution.
So if there is suction at the pump line does this means the booster is faulty
Could be, there's a couple other parts to the system
What brand pump do you buy that goes out every 2 years
Dorman
My Isuzu keeps breaking vacuum pumps last one just last 70 miles I have replaced 4 this year .
any idea what other issue could be causing it
Alot of them are built cheaply, but you can check the 2 pressure sensors or install a dummy and switch to an electronic vacuum pump
