The straight-faced delivery of that Mike joke in the introduction, was absolutely priceless!!! Funny, Entertaining Stuff all round. I love how videos like this can scratch the Twin Peaks itch a bit, without having to get into yet ANOTHER rewatch of the series. I’m positive that rewatch will be coming in no time anyways!! 🏔🦉🏔
Thanks - especially for getting that out on Twin Peaks day!
Another thought-- As far as all of the off dates, wrong continuity stuff; we also have to factor into it that the people making TP material, the shows and film really aren't as invested and obsessed with the details that we are as fanatics. They have careers in TV and film, they are onto other jobs, personal lives etc., after TP. So when those gaffes appear, I really just chalk it up to it not being that big of an obsessive deal. They have deadlines to meet , and stuff leaks out-- errors happen, and they move on from it. Love the analysis and the passion, hooked on your channel!
Such a good time listening to you guys!
This series of videos have been fantastic. Thank you all.
Thanks for watching! ☕
freaking awesome.. thank you! happy twin peaks day!
Thank for another great discussion and the Outline 💍🤩 💍
Another great conversation, can't wait for the next part and hopefully a discussion of the Final Dossier some day. The attention to detail makes this an excellent resource for fans but my favourite has got to be the editing, some masterful stuff going on but James' "WHY??" made me laugh every time
one more part to come in this Secret History series, had a similar chat with Talking Backwards about Final Dossier, will be 1 or 2 parts on that as well at some point
The trauma incident that Lynch repeatedly refers to in his childhood was a naked woman, not a tramp.
From David Lynch: The Art Life (2016), directed by Jon Nguyen.
LYNCH: "One night… I kinda have the feeling it was in the fall. And it was pretty late. Usually my father would go outside and yell, “John! David!” And that would bring us home. But this night, it must have been, I don’t know, close to that time. It seemed to be pretty late.
I don’t know what we were doing, but from across Shoshone Avenue, out of the darkness comes this, like… kinda like a strangest dream… because I’d never seen an adult woman naked. And she had beautiful pale white skin. And she was completely naked. And I think her mouth was bloodied. And she kinda came strangely… walking strangely across Shoshone and came into Park Circle Drive. And it seemed like she was sort of like a giant.
And she came closer and closer, and my brother started to cry. Something was bad wrong with her. And I don’t know what happened, but I think she sat down on a curb, crying. But it was very mysterious, like we were seeing something otherworldly. And I wanted to do something for her, but I was little, I didn’t know what to do. And I don’t remember any more than that."
yes! thank you, this is the story I couldn't remember. definitely more of a Blue Velvet thing
@@TakeTheRing and it's a motif that repeats. The beaten Miriam Sullivan , Annie's very specific bloodied mouth after reappearing in Glastonbury Grove, Laura's bloodied mouth in FWWM, etc.. this is a definitive image for David Lynch, and he likes the power of the trope enough to reuse it. Powerful as a pure physical/visual symbol, and also a very potent emotional one. The face, the mouth, when savagely injured is a gut blow when you empathize with it. Funny also that Judy tears off faces(the New York City killings), enters the mouth(frogmoth), kills with the mouth(Sarah Palmer's trucker). The face and mouth are subconsciously scary vulnerable and deadly in Lynch's symbolism.
@@GregoryGiordanoalso BadCoop's deadly "mouth massage" on Jack, the mechanic
@@mattwanous7602 yep! Good call.
Could inconsistencies like the Pete checkers/chess thing not be put down to the whole “unofficial version” thing? It’s seems like such an intentional wrench in the works, like Mark’s having fun screwing with us 😅
According to her diary Laura's favorite tree is the Douglas Fur.
Sorry to be that guy, but…………..
Douglas FIR is the correct spelling.

Thanks, great, love twin peaks
Leland dies on March 12th and Josie dies on March 21st
Bobby KILLED a guy!
Nice video.
Twin Peaks Season 4
It is all a perfect example of "mythical thinking". Twin Peaks deal with myth, not history.
The music makes this hard to listen to.
I love you guys, but you need to use more proper nouns. Sometimes you start a whole section with “he” and the only reason I’m able to figure out who you’re referring to within a few seconds is that I’ve read the book five times.
