  • “Talk About Judy • Dreamers” is the latest in Take The Ring’s theory videos about Twin Peaks: The Return (contains spoilers for all of Twin Peaks, David Lynch’s Hollywood trilogy and The Wizard of Oz). It presents multiple characters-as-dreamers in Twin Peaks theories: a Gordon Cole as David Lynch theory which has roots in pre-internet fan circles, a dark side of Dale Cooper theory based on Tim Kreider’s 2018 essay, and a fresh look at Laura Palmer’s awakening from repressed trauma. This video also takes a step back and views all of us as dreamers with our own interpretations who collectively create the world of Twin Peaks.

The concept of multiple dreamers in The Return makes sense when you consider the possibility that most scenes that take place in The Roadhouse, including all the musical numbers and scenes involving various characters, are all part of Audrey's coma nightmare that she can't escape from.

Seeing Take The Ring in the notifications feels like Birthday and Christmas. Someday there will be a notification of It is happening again, David Lynch and Mark Frost joining on creating another season of Twin Peaks. Lets radiate this back to the unified field so that Lynch will pick it up from there and figure out the need to tell us what's on the missing page through another masterpiece like The Return.

The part where you pointed out that Laura screamed in the original series when the veil dropped and she realized that Bob was occupying her father while he assaulted her made me realize something. Is it possible when she has the exact same realization scream in the return, when she hears her mother's voice while looking at her old house, that Judy is occupying her mother? That explain how her mother did that insane thing with her face and everything, or at least I think it would...

Cooper is the one trying to change the past and is messing with time. Hes the one that forces Laura into an infinite loop of reliving her life. She can't rest in peace.

David lynch just put random things based on his imagination and trolling people 😅

This is fascinating. I haven't stopped thinking about The Return since I watched it. I can't say the same for any of my other favorite shows.

Amazing. Twin Peaks is so meta that it is hard to analyse.

This was a fantastic video, I’ve been bed ridden for 9 days now unable to sit still or prevent myself from going into fits of panic, my throat barely has a needle width gap to breath, I’ve only been able to eat 2 small bowls of soup in 9 days and just generally uneasy because the diagnosis the doctors gave me isn’t adding up and the medicine isn’t working, it’s actually agitating my pain further and giving me new symptoms which are pointing to the bleakest outcome my doctor flirted with but I sat through this entire video and barely blinked with a long hot water bottle tight around my neck, the last 25 minutes and 38 seconds have been the only form of relief I have experienced in what seems like forever squeezed into 9 days & nights.

Jeremiah this is beautifully done. I've had many elements of the theories you express here flash across my mind at one point or another, but you've tied it all together in a way that I don't think anyone else has. Twin Peaks is an exquisite and unique gift to the universe from David Lynch, and videos like yours truly do help keep the dream alive. Thank you for all the work you obviously put in to this piece, and for sharing your very convincing interpretations.

Thank you so much for creating this well-made and very revelatory video. It's helping me to understand Lynch's use of dream logic with so much more clarity. Plus, it didn't take you

I think there is a case for the dreamer (likely Cooper) having killed Laura Palmer, either literally or figuratively.

I love your channel and this is my favorite theory by far. This analysis is so well put together, I love how you used clues from Lynch's other works and his infatuation with "dream logic" to explain the story of Twin Peaks. My dreams definitely follow the type of dream logic that Lynch references and it puts a whole new perspective for me on how the story is being told.
