Sounds like an aston martin after 3:14 lol....nice nice bike
WHAT A NOISE!!! OMG
never knew a 6-CILINDER would SOUND that AWESOME!!!!!!
The engine noise is awesome
I love the sound of it! Reminds me of the E46 M3.
AMAZING SOUND!
Nice sound!!! Runs me crazy.
Sounds awesome!
Really good review MCN!!! Keep up the good work!
Man he was flicking that thing round those corners like it's an SS. BMW makes another great bike, what a surprise haha.
I love the integrated GPS in the dash. It's such a simple feature but it's awesome.
Great overview!
Love that noise, Inlines...Oh yeah!!!
Totally sick sounding motor.
Wow, beautiful roads! the bike is no slouch for being so big either!
nice review mcn. looks lika good bike.
Nice bike...Beautiful review....!!
Like the "keep left"-sticker on the windscreen ;D
What a fantastic bike. I'd love to see this motor in a naked bike as well, but I can't see that happening. The motor has the look to pull it off from what little I've seen
@elcomcf I was thinking Porsche or Ferrari but yea, sounds more like a supercar. I know what I want for Christmas!
Cool looking and sounding motorcycle..I have a Goldwing right now and really miss the ground clearance my FJR1300 had in the twisties. Does this bike also have communication and a radio?...GPS?
i bought 3 of them , they look good next to my Lear jet .
lovely place to test it! Sounds fantastic, lets hope its more reliable than the K1200 when they started which also sounded amazing. What next...a 2litre V8 ??
I want that bike, soo soo badly. Maybe when its been out a year or 2 i will save and pick one up. I can only hope.
This bike would sound amazing with a pair of Remus exhaust mufflers.
Whouaaaouuu !!! is very good bike and biker !!! this bike with BMC filter , 6 sparkplugs NGK iridium and full exhaust titalium + catalizer out + rapid bike evo , wheels carbon BST , suspensions Ohlins Mecatronic ........ Mamamiaaaaaa !!!!!
Sweet bike and what a beautiful place to ride.
Also, doesn't the tach seem to be just a wee bit behind when he starts revving it at 2:13?
@jbshadow1 With BMW touring bikes you're braking just front as machine is distributing between front and rear automatically, rear is just for starting on slope.
i kinda hate touring bikes but i have to say this thing looks and sounds awesome!!!
Maybe mention more of the features? How the bike works as a cruiser-tourer or sport bike? Less endless screaming through corners.... Describe the features buyers might be interested in?
Video review is made from image and sound dear MCN.
The bike sounds like a 600! I don't like revving the engine at redline right after the start when the engine is still dry!
CokeAndMeth I completely agree. Totally juvenile of this reviewer. Glad the editor cut away from that nonsense.
sounds exactly like a porsche (maybe cause they r both 6cyl.^^) awesome sound!!!!
what 4 cylinder bike, or for that matter what bike has more torque???
Nice review! Do you consider this to be a sport touring bike?
Your video was great, your audio could have been better. I know your reporter is also the camera guy, but you might want to invest in some windscreens for the camera mic to eliminate wind noise from the video entirely.
Keep up the great reviews.
where is that place its a pretty good nature
@welk0metohell Well too much front break and you'll definitely will low side it.
Rear break with extra gas lets you stabilise the bike around corners (especially if you need extra lean angle during hot entry)
@superbran2008
Not 25K, 15K, and cheaper than a LeadWing, and 200 lbs. lighter, and OMG that sound!
why did you let this man review this motorcycle? You folks are better than this.
@doudekkadoudekka você acha mesmo? não sei não! Depois do lançamento da RR talvez a BMW façam as melhores motos em quase todas as categorias, menos nas custom. Nessa categoria valem mais as coisas oldschool do que tecnologia.
@ms51ves3 I don't know if it beats it, but imo, Honda's 1800 sounds preeeetty damn fine.
Where in South Africa is this?
I love MCN videis but for the love of god please invest in a cheap wind buffer for ur micks just go on ebay or if you need help let me know i i am willing to help
I own a beemer, but I have to give credit to Honda for that sound. Just check out the CBX 1000 (6 cyl) videos on here. They did the 6 cylinder shabang in the fokin 80's, man!
Johnny second gear likes the high revs, send him back to his fucking moped.
Haven't ridden this bike yet but with 175Nm I would wonder how much torque he wants and what bike delivers this
That said I've just read that the torque is limited/controlled below 4,000 RPM
I wanted to hate this bike but how could I hate this beast
Guess they went with the sound of the cbx1000 from the late 70's.
Looks like MCN's love affair with wind noise in the videos continues
Is it just me or does it sound like an M3 with 2 wheels or a CBX1000 gone mental???
What a bike. 15k, to me, is cheap compared to the 18-19k for a Honda Goldwing, and its much better value than a Yamaha FJR and they won't move or sound anywhere near as good as this bit of german touring brutality.
Thumbs up to BMW.
@Knickknack93 me too
This is how to travel fast!
All day comfortable riding and still be able to scrape the pegs and scare sportsbikes through the twisties....what's not to like.
wow ... took till 1:07 just to see a clear image of the entire bike. Future advice - make sure the bike is the first thing we see, I don't come here to see what your reporter looks like, I come here to look at the bike AND to hear your opinions on it.
@MCN - Motorcyclenews.com
4 cylinder rivals have more torque, What ?!
Please share a bike with more than 171 nm ( love the torque engines ). :)
@superbran2008 Did he say it was £15K?
you dont use front breaks in corners......
Bajnokable you can on duolever suspension bikes. they utilise a shock absorber at the front.
yes a little bit, but if you know the physics of a two wheeled machine, and know how to ride you never use front break in corners in fact you don't use any break in corners. if you do, you already messed up something in your turn. Thats the fact mate.
Bajnokable you are correct. but people do tend to mess up. especially on long journeys. so the comfort of being able to separate braking force from cornering is a good thing to have.
yes safty first agree :D ride safe bro
what if I told you that you can give a bike front brake in a corner, just don't give it too much. also you have to countersteer a bit harder while braking in corners
i wish i could afford one.
@Rohan419 :o
Sounds a lot like my triumph.
Marc, you looked incredibly tired when you made this vid. A little too much south African vino the night before??
Sounds like mini m3 ^^
@emilvva Ahhh very clever =P
I love the Motorcycle news reviews but ........... for gods sake sort out the audio it totally ruins all the reviews
sounds a bit like an old school m3
Can't believe the cameras where that poopy back then.
o boy i want 1 but i bet there expensive £25 k + i think ??
Capagna T rex has this engine.
Your bike is ready Lord Vader
Lol yeah. There’s an image
1:01 he touched the pavement with...something. be more careful mate :D
holy luxurious balls.
@jbshadow1 or both of them subtly
That engine is the size used in a car ,its a nice bike but overpowered i think, i like litre bikes and below but that's me.
@jbshadow1 You've been told wrong than. Too much rear brake in the corner = bikes ass will slide and you will crash.
looks like riders are riding over their head crossing lanes like that, but it could just be the road
No offence to the reviewer, but MCN really need to give their guys training in delivering to camera. That guy has such a nasal whiny voice, and he's not the only one in the MCN stable to do that. Perhaps they could use that guy from the King's Speech!
It's got four cylinders too many!! Seriously though, if you close your eyes it sounds a bit like a Ferrari
£15K ? My dealer says £18K + ( + £550 insurance at age 62!)....
put a turbo on that thing.
The brakes are Brembo.
I got wood!!!!
front break?? around a corner? everyone tells me thats the worst thing to do, always rear break.
".....ride by wire accelerator...." ..correcting myself after being interrupted by my kid.
Judge Dredds bike...
dead cat????
Sex appeal you must like lardy women it looks massive i will stick to my fazer thou these kind of bike are to heavy
I have a 2015 K1600GT. The worst decision I ever made. Hardly a week went by but something breaks. Put me off motorcycles for life. Also put me off MCN for life.
pity it can't stop riding over double white lines, but no bikers can anyway
Stay in your lane.
NICE, bit ricey. the only bmw to some is the boxer twin. harley came out with the porsche designed engine. nobody gave a shit. harley couldn't give them away.
pathetic resale value. this bmw impresses me not at all. nice, just not my cup of tea.
BMW 1600 problem
