@@SashaMkai, but do the rangers do anything to try to move the bison out of the campsite area?? Could be very dangerous to whoever was sheltering in that tent.
My husband and I witnessed something like this in 2007. We had our travel trailer up in Bay Bridge Campground and were getting breakfast when two enormous bulls started going at it in our campsite. We cowered in our trailer, being the weenies that we were, praying they wouldn't hit our truck or our trailer. They settled for trampling the fire pit, pushing the picnic table over, and crushing a cooler. I figure we got off lightly with that.
@@halibut1249 No, thank God. It was terrifying enough in the trailer, watching them go at it. The sound is truly incredible as they collide and stomp around.
@@D33Lux Sadly, no, neither of us had a smart phone or camera on us at the time, plus we were too busy watching and praying they wouldn't decide to go after our truck or trailer. I don't think well in crisis and will admit that. It is what it is.
I would not call yourself a weenie. That was the smartest thing you could do. Thank goodness it was only a fire pit, picnic table and crushed cooler. It could of been you.
I camped in a site next to some bison once. They were drunk, up all night fighting, inconsiderate to other campers, grunting all night,, and the snoring, man it kept the entire campground up. What? Oooh,,, never mind.
Great job catching this fight. I posted a video a few years back of 2 Bison fighting and hitting my truck. Your video shows how dangerous they are and you better respect their space. When you are in Yellowstone, you are in their home.
Oh honey, let’s go spend the weekend in nature. Grab the tent ⛺️ and don’t forget the camera! 📸 Imagine waking up to this and they trample you before you can react! No way! I won’t do it.
I was thinking who are these crazy people there in a tent they can be trampled on at night this is the most crazy thing I’ve ever seen people are nuts you can’t fix stupid right darling
You can only tent in certain campsites in tents. There are many that you can only camp in in hardsided vehicles. But it is an awesome place to visit and stay.
Footage is bananas!!! Forget tent napping..or how about being woken by the wild rebel bunch kicking dirt on your tent. I have to say the wild burros always made me nervous tenting but these guys raise the bar for sure. Be safe Campers!
Nah, the wild burros spook easily but I think I’ll rent a van or RV or something when I go to Yellowstone, I normally tent camp but this is serious business.
To imagine this, bison overran the country in the 1800's and by the early 1900's they were almost extinct, until conservation efforts stepped in and now, they're making a comeback, are off the endangered species list and it's no longer considered unusual to catch a glimpse of a bison. Now that's one amazing story of a comeback.
They are in an acceptable area. I am sure they were in a safe place. You cannot avoid the Bison in Yellowstone, they are everywhere. You don't wave a red flag or call attention to yourself but maybe the camera was on zoom and they were not as close as you'd in your superior way would like to think.

imagine being in that tent when that was going on?..lol.. Like whats all the racket?. would have been a nice view to watch while eating lunch on those picnic tables..
Some friends of mine camped out one night (tent) and were awakened by grunts and growls outside. Grizzly? You guessed it: a little herd of bison grazing around the tent.
Hey campers, free show coming through! These are our young males, feeling their testosterone and wanting to compete for the females. You wanted nature, right? We’re here to please ~~~~~
To see these big boys brawling like that is pretty cool! WWE has nothing on this! In fact, at the next cage match, put a bison in there along with the wrestlers to liven things up. Viewership would triple!
I've camped in a tent in Yellowstone. This video does not properly convey how LOUD bison are. Yes, these two fighting are grunting, etc, but you've got to remember the animals are constantly communicating with one another, and each one is close to a ton in weight. I was woken up every morning by deer, elk, or other campers. There's simply no chance a person would sleep through this.
Not a Bison story just a nature experience. Was at a campground in Georgia and I knew better than keep food in my tent. Had my cooler chained to my pop up camper. Was awoken to a shaking tent and sounds of an aggravated bear. From then on chained to a tree.
Saw one bull push another through the side of a motorhome about 30 years ago in TRNP. Everyone at this camp site got lucky. A camper is only slightly better than a tent!

They are not interested in you . Don't get in there way . If your a screamer or an idiot then why are you there ? Get in your car and stay in your car . They sleep at night like us .
I watch a channel were its a bison ranch. They lost one when it was caught in a fence. They are know to protect but also know to kill their own if it is in distress or injured. Survival of the fit.
"Hey let's pitch a tent amongst the bisons"
Wonder if they're sleeping in? Do the grizzle bears visit in those numbers too? Let me eat your lunch? Don't have any, guess you'll do! 😳
@Codyy Wisconsin that would not have been funny, unless it was you! 😅😂🤣🤭😳
To be fair the bisons were not in the area when they rented the campsite or the rangers wouldn't have let them camp there

30 to 60 million. Killing them off was deliberate government tactic to starve native Americans.
We work with bison and bison ranchers. There's a saying I use, "bison are calm...until they're not...then they're really not calm". Amazing animals.
I’ve been there and you won’t see me camping in a damn tent with buffalo etc running around
You won't see me camping again. Past the use by date. Only motels and maybe hotels if decent.
They were Rutting.... fighting for breeding dominance... they don't care if a campground is there...
You only get this private show when you purchse the "V.I.P. Yellowstone camp pass", which is an extra 30USD for RVs, and 5 USD for tents.
I was waiting for a stupid tourist to walk right up to them for selfie.

Omg. 😱 I don't think I'd feel to safe camping in those tents. Your braver then me.
I'd be alittle worried if I camped in a tent at Yellowstone.
Would not have changed a thing about it even with the freezing conditions one of the 3 nights my mom and siblings and I stayed. What a place
You can only tent in certain campsites in tents. There are many that you can only camp in in hardsided vehicles. But it is an awesome place to visit and stay.
@JZ's Best Friend no. They wander in and out of the park. The tent less sites are mainly because of the bears.
@JZ's Best Friend They don't care. You can't get away from the Bison. Luckily they are big enough to see and get out if their way.
Anyone remember this? Never rollerskate in a buffalo herd.
Ray Stevens or Tom T Hall?
You might slip and fall on a Buffalo turd!🎶🎵
All that fighting and I'm really surprised that not one of the tables or that tent was damaged in the process XD
YET!
They’re fighting for women. The table has no demands, otherwise it would be superb kindling.
