    I've only flown with my toddler by myself and I really like using the car seat on the plane, it seems to calm his mind, like oh this is what we're doing now. My mom is flying with us on the next trip, another pair of hands will be nice - though it will be her first ever flight so that's a whole other thing haha. I can't recommend TSA pre-check enough, it's worth every penny!

    • @wayfaringhumans
      @wayfaringhumans  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I've heard many parents say the same re: the car seat. It's like a safe familiar space in all the chaos! Unfortunately, our son has never really liked the car seat (or being restrained in any way!) so it was never a great option for us on the plane. And yes, thank you, TSA pre-check, NEXUS, global entry, clear --- are a good idea for getting through security quickly! I should have mentioned them! Good luck on your next trip -- how exciting for your mom!

    Your reenactments are hilarious 😂 We are planning a trip to Jakarta from the US with our kids (a toddler and a baby) and I’m super nervous. I truly appreciate all your useful travel tips ❤

      Haaaha thank you for that, I appreciate it -- I wish I had more "real" footage of some of these things, but I usually have my hands full in the moment! I'm impressed that you're going with two littles ones -- would love to know how it goes! And I'm jealous of your Indonesia trip. We would love to go back as soon as we can

    Thank you for this video! It is really helpful. Me and my 2 yrs old will be visiting my parents in Japan on May. I am so stressed about that 14hrs flight from Canada hahaha your videos are really helpful. I am binge watching all of them for tips. 😊

    Im actually had anxiety during the trip with my baby. Which loads of bag packs alone is challenging. This video helps me. Tqsm

      I’m sorry, it’s hard. I’ve had anxiety on trips before too and simplifying what I bring has made it better - but it’s still not easy! ❤️

    What kind of Fanny pack do you have? Going back home and taking 3 kiddos (10,6 & 1) their first time flying

      I use a pretty heavy duty CXWMZY one from Amazon (ha!). I'll find it now and drop it in the description.

    I love this video! Its the best advice I have seen so far. Do they let you check in that fanny pack if you are allowed only for two personal items one for you and one for the baby. I have the same carrier and my toddler is 18 months old, Not familiar with waring him on the back which is appopriate for that age. I agree that It's helpful to bring.
    I need to start practicing.

    • @wayfaringhumans
      @wayfaringhumans  Před měsícem

      Thank you! In this case, my son had his own seat so together we were allowed 2 personal items and 2 carry-ons. But even when my son was a lap infant, it was never an issue. If you're traveling with a lap infant, many airlines allow you to bring 1 carry on, 1 personal item, and 1 diaper bag for free - www.wayfaringhumans.com/does-a-lap-infant-get-a-personal-item-carry-on-by-airline/ (the carrier, stroller, car seat -- these don't count as personal items, fyi! and can usually all fly for free)

    Thank you for the flying alone video and must haves. I see a lot of people majorly overpacking… or I’m just a minimalist that thinks baby’s/kids are actually small humans and don’t need much extra past diapers 😂 plus (in the other videos) the people always have help.
    I’ll be with my 4yo and then 7 mo old. By myself. Sort of terrified lol😅
    Thanks for putting these all into a playlist too!!

      You guys doing it with more than one (alone) are the real heroes! I try hard to pack light too but I still end up feeling like a bit of a pack mule no matter what 😆 Have a great trip!! Thanks for the kind comment!

    • @aibao_eipariru_april
      @aibao_eipariru_april Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@wayfaringhumanssee, I feel like you pack super minimalist compared to some of the videos I’ve found. People are packing their pack n plays, cosleeper pods, big non-portable noise machines, basically the entire toybox 🤣 my list is like 1 toy for the baby and multiple electronics for the preschooler in case another dies ☠️ 😂 diapers, extra outfit, and snacks.
      I’ve watched so many of your videos now CZcams has you popping up everywhere 😅 no complaints though, your videos are so great. How did Indonesia go? Are you still there?

    • @wayfaringhumans
      @wayfaringhumans  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@aibao_eipariru_april Yeah I guess it's all relative! Our first trip when our son was 3 months old, I definitely did overpack (for me anyway!) but I've learned to cut down -- especially if I'm going somewhere we have access to all that other stuff. And the toddler stage requires sooo much less stuff too in my experience! We're back from Indonesia but I have such a backlog of videos to make 😅 It was amazing!

      Oh wow, I don't have personal experience with this situation but I would two all of this (setup from the video) x2 and then look at it, practice with it... and try to trim anything you don't reeeally need to make your setup as streamlined as possible!

    Hi, any tips on how to bring juice pouches and shelf milk boxes being opened at the security?

    • @wayfaringhumans
      @wayfaringhumans  Před 29 dny +1

      Hi! If they’re like baby food pouches, like fruit/vegetable apple sauce -like pouches, those are fine. They’re not considered liquid and I’ve never had to have those tested at security. Milk is a little different, but still perfectly fine to take on board in the US (age not specified) and for kids 0-2 in Canada. I made a video that might help: czcams.com/video/-8O-vw1WdXg/video.htmlsi=I6zC-rnne4lznm1Y

    • @wayfaringhumans
      @wayfaringhumans  Před 29 dny +1

      I forgot to say: they should NOT open your milk if it’s sealed! They aren’t supposed to do this. Check TSA website if traveling in the US.

    What about document at immigration? Do they ask for the bubs birth certificate and spouse/partner letter of permission? Thankyou somuch! Ps: btw u r a wonderful actor😂

    • @wayfaringhumans
      @wayfaringhumans  Před 3 měsíci

      Hi! Thank you for this question! I always travel with my son's birth certificate, but I've never been asked for it -- they've only needed to see his passport. However, I'll continue to travel with the birth certificate because it has our names on it (the parents) and I've heard that in very rare cases, they'll want to check that we are the real guardians! I've also never been asked by ANYONE at the airport for the letter of permission actually, but I still think it's a REALLY good idea to have it when you're crossing international borders solo -- just in case! You may have already seen these videos about the documents you need to cross borders with your baby but I'll drop them here in case someone else comes across this comment and wonders what we're talking about! How about managing the stroller and a roller suitcase once at destination?

    • @wayfaringhumans
      @wayfaringhumans  Před 10 dny

      I wouldn't recommend carrying anything you can't manage all by yourself (if traveling alone). If you can pull the roller suitcase and push the stroller at the same time (one-handed), then go for it. But the lighter, the better. Practice your setup at home before you go. I've traveled solo with my son with TONS of stuff (like... tonssss) and had a really tough time managing it all alone -- it was stressful! Sometimes it can't be avoided though and you make it work with help from the kindness of strangers!
