    great job mama! I’m flying alone with my toddler again in July. I’ve done it once before and it wasn’t as bad I thought but they wouldn’t let me valet my stroller at the gate! all the other times I flew with my husband they let us and the one time I go alone she shouldn’t let me!🙄 (I think it was just the person I got) but this time I got a smaller travel stroller so hopefully won’t have that issue! also got my mini and seat for himself and having the extra space for us was a lifesaver! great video😊

    hi ! I am wondering where do you store the umbrella stroller inside the plane? so that you can use it right away as soon as you are going out ?do you store it in the overhead storage or under your chair?does the stewardess hand it to you when you land?I am really clueless and I want to take my 3D mini umbrella stroller for my 3 yr old ina 4-5 hr flight. thanks for answering my query.

    Hi.. thanks for the tips.. i also bought the umbrella stroller for my toddler.. so do I need to buy cover for it or it is not necessary?

    • @julieoliverhere
      @julieoliverhere  Před 2 lety +2

      I’m glad this has helped! The cover I linked it’s pretty large and would cover a standard car seat. You can wrap it if you want to be extra careful, but I’ve never wrapped my umbrella stroller when I checked it at the gate, and have had no damage except for a minor scuff.

    Did you have to pay for your stroller to be stored? Also, did you have to put him under the seatbelt while on your lap? Thank you for your tips

    • @julieoliverhere
      @julieoliverhere  Před 2 lety +1

      I did not have to pay for the stroller to be stored! They check it at the gate, just like they would if they had overbooked seats / didn't have enough overhead space for carry-ons.
      When he was in his own seat, the seatbelt was on during take-off, landing, and turbulence. Otherwise, he was free to roam around his seat! While in my lap, he was not buckled under the belt, just secured in my arms. There should be enough room to put them under your seatbelt if you prefer!
      Thank you for watching!

    This is the first time I've been on a plane with a toddler (and only my 2nd time flying) I'm going on a month long trip with my daughter, so I'm bringing a carseat and an umbrella stroller to push her in. I got her a little carryon with all of her stuff, then my carry on, I'm so nervous about having to carry all of this stuff even though I know I can check our luggage. ugh.

    • @jadebethj4807
      @jadebethj4807 Před 2 lety

      I had to purchase a ticketed seat for my daughter b/c she's 3. And I just checked, we can use the harness.

    Did you have to do anything specific to help his ears during take off and landing? Or did it not bother him?

    • @julieoliverhere
      @julieoliverhere  Před 2 lety +3

      I made sure he had his juice and a snack during take off! This helped his jaw move and would clear his ears. When he was younger I timed it so he'd be nursing, helped a lot!

    Did you leave the umbrella stroller at the entrance of the plane? Do you think umbrella stroller is good choice for a 3 1/5 years old toddler? Thank u

    • @julieoliverhere
      @julieoliverhere  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey Georgina, (love your name!) in my experience with Delta, they've always checked my umbrella stroller just like they would a larger one.
      PRO: I think umbrella strollers are way easier to pack and transport (especially through TSA) than a traditional one / jogger. If your toddler is cooperative in that kind, go for it!
      CON: You can usually hang a bag on or in the bottom compartment of a larger stroller. If you multiple carry-on's that are awkward to carry when walking around, consider just bringing the big stroller!
      Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!!

    Thinking about flying vs driving, our son will be 21 months old, should we get his own seat or have him in our laps?

  • @allievelasco2386
    @allievelasco2386 Před 2 lety +1

    Did you have a hard time flying with him? my daughter is two and will fly and i’m super anxious she won’t wear a mask

    • @julieoliverhere
      @julieoliverhere  Před 2 lety

      My son is not yet two, and Delta doesn't require a mask under two years old. I can't say what other airlines are doing, but i'm sure they have that info available!
      As for her wearing a mask, my best advice would be to get her used to it in public places before having to be somewhere where it's required! Also, if she's actively eating a snack she doesn't have to wear it. I haven't ever encountered an attendant that has been like the viral-facebook-crazy confrontations, if that makes you less worried. They're just doing what they're told but have extra patience for small children! All the best to you, Allie!

    Will they allow stroller in flight?

    • @julieoliverhere
      @julieoliverhere  Před 2 lety +3

      You can take your stroller in the airport all the way to boarding - when you scan your ticket they'll give you a little tag to put on your stroller and check it at the gate. When you land, they'll unload it quickly at the gate again for you! (This has been our experience with Delta, most airlines are similar. They've been great!)

    Hi, thank you for the lovely video. This video is very helpful. I'm flying with my 22-month-old son and my parents. It's a long flight. Would you recommend buying a seat for a toddler?

    • @nimcoabdi8822

      I think you should be fine I’m travelling with 24 months and 5 months old I bought a seat my toddler

    • @julieoliverhere
      @julieoliverhere  Před 2 lety

      Hey Maita, at that age, I would recommend getting a seat for your 22 month old! In my experience, at that age my son wouldn't settle in my lap easily, especially on a longer flight. (+ my arms would be so tired!) Having his own seat will allow plenty of play room to get comfortable. Good luck, girl!

    He didn’t need a car seat??

    • @julieoliverhere
      @julieoliverhere  Před 2 lety +1

      Nope! They don’t require them in flight, although you CAN purchase a seat for them and bring the car seat onboard. They have rules when they’re still “infant-in-arms” for safety, I’d reach out to your airline for those!
