    Your advice is legit. I was 214 lbs and started intermittent fasting with a 6 hr window. My carbs were limited to no more than 50 grams a day. No Bread, No Pasta, No Sugar and I walked at least 20,000 steps a day' (10.2 miles). I would do this for 2 weeks, sometimes 3, then I would take 1 day off for every week I stuck with my routine. I wouldn't get crazy... I'd have a cookie or two after dinner, maybe a coke and 2 or 3 slices of pizza as a treat for myself , then get back on my routine/diet. I did this for 3 months and I went from 214 to 172. I didn't even lift weights or go to the gym. Just walking and balancing my carbs and protein, and skipped breakfast. It works, you just have to hold yourself accountable.

    • @shadez7650
      @shadez7650 Před 2 lety +7

      @@mohamudsharif8119 mostly green leafy carbs. I travel overseas alot and my diet is subject to military chow halls when i am out of country, so basically I make a salad of lettuce, spinach, broccoli, etc....drizzle so e olive oil on it and then add on top whatever meat or poultry to it. (Example... Taco Tuesday, I just add the beef, some cheese and salsa on top of the aforementioned salad.) Cause I worked night shift, my second meal was an egg white ham and cheese omelet. I would still eat pizza or burgers at times, but I would just eat the pizza toppings or just the burger without the bun. But I would do this for 2-3 weeks straight then take 1 day off for every week I was on it. So after 2 weeks, I would take 2 days off and eat normal, get in some of the nutrients that I missed out on. Have a coke and a peice of cake or cookies with my dinner. I wouldn't go recommend going past 2 weeks at a time though. 3 weeks starts getting pretty hard for the average person. I found when I tracked my daily weight loss, after I took 1 day off, my weight loss would flatline for about 2-3 days and then start again. 2 days off typically took about 3-4 days before it started going down again.

    New favourite subscription. Somebody who actually tells you what to do and has the body for the proof instead of showing you snippets of their lives without any real detail. I've just worked out my macros for fat loss. I'm 5ft 3, female,, 38 years old, petite framed and weigh 120lbs. My normal and lean/toned is around 110lbs but for personal reasons (a stint on a medication- stopped months ago) I went up to 140lbs. So I gained 30lbs and it wasn't muscle gain. I've lost 20lbs in 3 and a half months but the last bit is stubborn. I've been resistance training for about 5years, 3 times a week. I'm vegetarian. Anyways, I'm looking to lose the last 8lbs of fat whilst continuing my resistance training. I've added in some HIIT too. My diet is good but my macros are off and my carbs are a bit high and protein too low. So thank you for these tips. Hoping to get back to my best through diet and keep up my training with some added HIIT.

    My take on the reason of why he doesn’t have more subscribers to his channel, might just be because he does not incorporate videos of himself working out and showing the results that he has been able to accomplished! This guy has a great physique and he needs to be showing it in his videos, therefore inspiring people to watch the videos more to achieve the same results or close to what he has achieved. It’s like when you go to a restaurant and there’s a menu with words only versus a menu with words and images of the food. it’s just more appealing. That’s my take on it. I like the guy. He’s very knowledgeable and I would definitely get into one of his training sessions!

    Hi, Paul! Love this! I’m close to my goal, and I tend to get good results with a few big bursts of giant effort like this and then maintenance afterwards. Question regarding your fat calculation here! How did you calculate his “basement” fat grams? Then after adding the fat grams to the protein grams (g/goal weight), how did you calculate carb grams? Asking for myself- 5’7, 148 lbs normally around 1600 cals, not currently tracking, but want to & focusing on protein at the moment. I lift usually 4x / week and cardio usually 4x as well. Thank you so much!

I was training solid last year and unfortunately had to get emergency shoulder surgery. Big recovery, it crushed me psychologically and I've lost some of what I had built (very similar spec and weight gain to the guy who posted the question for today's video). Fully recovered now, I've been hungry to start training again and get my healthy physique back but have found it hard to get the discipline that I had back and so I've just been putting it off. Because I KNOW that if I can go to the gym 3 times a week for 3 weeks, I will have a new habit. So, I have to use the 2 minute method. Sounds silly, but if I commit to my goal for 2 minutes, I will continue for up to an hour. It’s that first two minutes that is so important.

I'm typically training 3,000 to 4,000 meters daily 6 or 7 days a week. Workouts usually start with ~1,500 meters warmup (500 swim, 500 kick, 500 pull), then USRPT/race pace training. aka HIIT in the water. At 6'2", I currently float between 235lbs & 238lbs with most of my calories from protein (eggs, chicken).

    Paul, I've lost 64 lbs from doing a slow and steady approach with flexible dieting and have maintained if not built muscle (a lot of this was muscle memory from powerlifting). I diet one day at a 30% deficit and then eat maintenance calories, and this approach was inspired by the MATADOR study. I'm close to 17-20% body fat currently. I'm starting to get the itch to speed up the weight loss a bit faster as summer approaches to get to my goal of 10%. Do you think something like what you advocate in the video would be okay even though I've been dieting for awhile, albeit every other day? I'm 5'8 and weigh 202 lbs. Thanks!

    Hey Paul! I’m currently weighing 190-193 lbs and sitting at 10-11% BF. I’m going to Vegas in 5 weeks and was wondering what you think the lowest percentage of body fat I can get to, and how!? I currently workout 5-6 days/week with 20-30min of cardio 4-5 days per week. Currently drinking 1.5G of water per day. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

    Im currently 243 lbs and I try to work out with cardio 2 times a week with 2 to 3 hours in a week from home. Due to covid I dont go to the gym. I have a decent amount of muscle and am on a 1500 calorie deficit. I usually try to only due 1000 calories a day for more weight loss. Will me eatting about 200 grams of protien throw me off my calories? I'm ok with maintaining my muscle mass as it is but eventually I want to start bulking. Do you have e any tips for me ? Also currently subscribed and I love your approach to weight loss and muscle building

    I calculated my daily cals based on my weight and goals. I'm 135 lbs female (been this weight but years) and goal of 115lbs. My total daily cals will be 1093 which is okay because I'm only 5ft 1in, but my absolute main problem with why i always screw up my diet is my PMS cravings. It's so so hard for me to keep a diet for 1 month because that 3rd week I'll almost always binge. I need need need help with this so badly.

    I’m the farthest thing from an expert and I truly enjoy these videos yet
    One thing I never hear any fitness channel or expert bring up is the mindset
    What is your mind set when taking on this advice or anyone else’s . Is there dissonance because it go against the other experts belief system
    Are you doubting the work ? Are you doubting the outcome ? Is there any type of disbelief that’s giving you uncertainty?? If so I would start there
    Your belief in how much this or that will work for you is far more powerful than the advice
    If you have a clear vision of your outcome and complete belief in your program THAT Is where the magic truly happens
    I’m not an expert on fitness yet getting one’s mind on point is my expertise
    Getting the most out of every action in life is a skill that can be taught and is more powerful than any advice running through a mind of doubt or someone who lacks the vision or beliefs in their actions
    People put far to much power outside of themselves
    I’m going to take on this advice and I’ve already made the choice THAT THIS WILL WORK FOR ME
    And so it is
    Thank you for the amazing info

    I managed to lose 30lbs in one month before and it involved eating 300-500 calories a day and cycling for 1.5 - 2 hours per day. It was hard going at first, but my appetite didn't exist after the first 4 or 5 days. I had a cheat day after the first 2 weeks just to keep me sane. Definitely not a healthy way to go about it, but I was morbidly obese at the time and needed to kickstart the diet.

I’m now 150lbs with around 18% body fat. I’ve been tracking calories/macros and meal prepping my whole journey. I just can seem to get that last remaining fat off. Any advice?

      Hey boss! Assuming you’re doing no cardio at all right now, I’d start with 1-2 sessions of 15-20 mins to kickstart the fat loss while eating a high protein diet to retain muscle. Biggest thing to avoid if muscle building is the main priority is high intensity cardio. This is hard to recover from and not ideal for building muscle. Low-moderate cardio would be best to keep muscle!

    • @PaulRevelia
      @PaulRevelia  Před 3 lety

      doing some cardio daily is no problem as long as it doesn't interfere with training or recovery. I find a few light cardio sessions helps with recovery, inflammation and body composition.

    With 120g P, 60g C, 40g F, the total calories/day is1030. Is that too low? My BMR is at 1150 and I intend to get my exercise from walking on a treadmill 1 hour (at 3 miles/h and 3 incline).

      How’s it going John! That’s a lot of movement daily which is great! I’d say it’s time to drop calories a bit since your movement is so high already. Keep doing the steps + reduce calories by 300. If you want you can add a cardio session in addition to the steps and then this all should break the plateau! Hope this helps too

Im 63 and im 11 stone thereabouts but I do have a lot of belly fat i should be around a 36" waist atm im 42" I can lose weight with proper diet and excersise etc . . .i am currently on a proper eating trip ive cut out drinking and chocolate and dont really eat badly dont do friy ups I have a herbalife shake twice a day and sensible meal at night with no snacking inbetween
    I have lost weight but need to get into shape i aboit to start a weight training program and beging riding the mountain bike everyday
    but my question is . . . . i only really have around 30 odd yrs left on the planet is all this worth it at my time of life ?
    dont wanna sound negative im just wondering if this is a normal thing to feel at my age?
    and would you recommend the keto diet to get things moving?
