- Based on rumors leaked from Resident Evil 9, it is said that the main character of this version is supposed to be Chris Redfield and in the end, he is supposed to be killed, but this is a big mistake...
After several years and the release of several versions, Capcom can take the Resident Evil franchise in any direction it wants and make any events it wants happen, especially now that Ethan Winters' saga has ended and the focus can be on another main character.

to me personally, Chris, Leon, jill , ada and claire are unkillable, you can't kill your main badass characters that made your franchise.

I rather have people like Barry carlos or maybe even a reference to billy. Chris can certainly take a break but leon is incredibly overrated and can take a break as well. He already got 2 remakes and has shine in the animated movies.

Chris Redfield is the mainstay of the series. He is the hero. If Kabucom wants to get rid of him, the game will remain unimportant to many, including Me

The leak didn't say he dies, it says it would be his last game.
Could be that he gets frustrated and he quits fighting bioterrorism or maybe he adopts a child and retires?
There are a lot of ways how this could be his last game without dying.

No its not its the best thing for the series. He is a meat head with no personality. Worse character out of all the main Resident evils. Also it would be good if Capcom pulled the trigger cause no one has died yet of merrit
If chris dies or gets badly injured in re9 then I'll be happy 😊 let other characters have their turn in the spotlight. I would have preferred rose or mia to be the main characters. For mia it would be a good redemption story for her to try and write the wrongs done by the connections and bssa in re7 and re8

If a writer doesn’t know how to make a right, fitting approach to kill such main character that being loved for years, the writer should drop the idea.
