The original reception to first RE5 game was rediculous it was set in africa thematically it was meant to be about the birth of hunmanity and a tie in to the las plagas virus aswell. What is the point of us having places used in other countries if they arent going to relect the major population of that country last I checked Sheva and Chris so a black and white team went in to deal with a potential BOW problem which ended up spreading to the local populus. It set an industry standard and left a legacy for action survival games that came after it which it still receives universal acclaim for to this day. 5 left no lasting legacy for the good of the franchise, 6 was its legacy which had an extremely lukewarm reception and is considered one of the worst resident evil games ever made. Coop is poor for a survival horror game, in addition to this, an AI partner was also poor.

Well RE4 Remake had you killing spanish people, and nobody said a thing. So RE5 Remake should be no different. Also, RE6 had you kill a LOT of chinese people, yet that was never called racist either. 5 is my least favorite mainline game. It’s problem isn’t that it’s racist it’s that it’s too action heavy. Gameplay was butter smooth and co-op was a blast but it’s not Resident Evil. Well RE4 Remake had you killing spanish people, and nobody said a thing. So RE5 Remake should be no different.
Also, RE6 had you kill a LOT of chinese people, yet that was never called racist either.
And every damn Call Of Duty game has you killing people from foreign countries with very stereotypical portrayals, yet no one calls COD racist. I have no idea why RE5 is singled out.

5 is my least favorite mainline game. It’s problem isn’t that it’s racist it’s that it’s too action heavy. Gameplay was butter smooth and co-op was a blast but it’s not Resident Evil. So if they rewrote it to alter its setting it would stop being RE5 so why bother remake it or even call it RE5? Just make a new game lmao 😂 at this point RE1 could use a graphic overhaul, why not just do that instead? REmake was perfect otherwise
