So if a had a tv which was 20” would it have the same total amount of pixels as a 60” tv? So would the 20” tv would have a higher pixel density of pixels then the 60”? (The size 60” and 20” are just made up. I’m not sure if they are actually sizes used.)
FHD = 1920 * 1080, UHD("4K") = 3840 * 2160. UHD is has twice the pixels on the vertical and the horizontal axis as FHD -> 1920 * 2 = 3840, 1080 * 2 = 2160. That also means that 4 * FHD = UHD, 4 * 1920 * 1080 = 3840 * 2160.
4K is 2560*1440, while full HD is 1920*1080p, and 720 standard HD is 1280*720p. Quad HD or QHD on smartphones and tablets is 4 times 720p and 2 times 1080p, earning it the title of 2k.
New American Fishkeeper 4K is NOT 2560*1440! True 4K is 4096*2160, but people also refer to 3840*2160 as 4K. qHD = 1440p 4*HD = 4(1280*720). qHD =! 4K...
I don't think it's worth buying a 4k screen at least not for a few years. When gaming consoles are capable of handling 4k resolution games, and tv programs are recorded in 4k.
No, it's not. It's the number of pixels on the axis of the screen with the most pixels on it... A UHD screen (not really 4K; but close) has 8294400 pixels (3840 * 2160 = 8294400).
"SD for life", musta been dead 7 years ago haha I cant watch 480p content anymore, shiiit. My eyes are way too used to HD! Its heavily distracting when I come across a non-HD vid on YT.
This is so annoying! If someone says 4K, you won't know what resolution they're exactly talking about! 3840x2160 =TV, probably most consumer recorders, and probably Sony, Samsung etc. 4096x2160 =Cinematic standard, Apple's definition of 4K and some others. 2160p =CZcams.
Ok, 3840 x 2160 is going to win out and be referred to as 4K/UHD interchangeably because its 16:9. The other one has a weird non-standard aspect ratio, so no need to confuse consumers.
Ok------ listen people. They have 8k TVs!!! Theyve been out for a while. In this information age its un acceptable to report on old products. Have 0 fun with your 4k TVs after you see me with my 8k
Poundtho-1440p is almost 50% higher then 1080, or almost double the actual resolution. But its main goal is to be 4 times 720p or basic hd, but 5k displays are already edging the market(IMac and Dell), so to point out that these displays are really insane. 2k is only useful on a computer to be able to see 1080p content and share a good portion of screen. Just as 5k is coming to be, on a phone you don't see it, and it's all for Specs!!!
Watches a video explaining 4K in 360p.
watching about 4K in 720p LOL
Same
And Cnet still upload at 720p
What a strange channel
It would have been cool to upload this video in 4K!
sir, i just wan to know what software or application did you make your presentation. thanks

I love the animation and of course the explanation. Thanks
Hi
4K explain video in 720P with bad bitrate is very good
now that 1080p and 60 fps is out for youtube, wonder if 4k will also come out for youtube?
Yep
Very well explained! Appreciate it! 👏👏
There is a difference between Ultra HD and 4K. Ultra HD is 3840x2160 whereas true 4K is 4096x2160
Isn't 4k/UHD four times HD (720 x 1280)? Rather than Full HD? I've seen Sony dipicting it that way.
FHD = 1920 * 1080, UHD("4K") = 3840 * 2160. UHD is has twice the pixels on the vertical and the horizontal axis as FHD -> 1920 * 2 = 3840, 1080 * 2 = 2160. That also means that 4 * FHD = UHD, 4 * 1920 * 1080 = 3840 * 2160.
HD (720p) x 4 = 2K (1440p)
Full HD (1080p) x 4 = 4K (2160p)
4K is 2560*1440, while full HD is 1920*1080p, and 720 standard HD is 1280*720p. Quad HD or QHD on smartphones and tablets is 4 times 720p and 2 times 1080p, earning it the title of 2k.

I don't get why it's not called QFHD. Which best and most accurately describes what it is.
apple has a resolution on their 27" inch model in 5k. I dont understand why they would do that when 4k isn't even a standard yet.
It's a standard, but not cheap yet..
Whats the difference between 4k and quad hd?
Only technical or semantic: DCI 4K (the original 4K) is 4096×2160 while UHD 4K (QFHD or UHDTV-1) is 3840×2160.
@@Crlarlso the difference is about the horizontal pixels right?
@@StevenBHorrorFan
Basically. You could also think of it as professional 4K vs. consumer 4K.
I don't think it's worth buying a 4k screen at least not for a few years. When gaming consoles are capable of handling 4k resolution games, and tv programs are recorded in 4k.
Yeah but the price of 4k have drop significantly. You can get one for under $800.
Games are in 4K, on PC.
Controls depend on the game, I play a lot with controller on PC. The problem, is the price, sadly..
already running games at 4k on pc
Most video games can't handle running at 4k. And a few that can look terribly in 4k, like Titanfall.
0:37 isn’t that the guy from WhatCulture?
Zigor Campos outsidexbox.
@@drigodamus i thought the same thing until i saw your comment
The laptop I'm getting next week will be 4K :D
Waste of money when its on such a small screen
4K is the amount of pixel that can fit on one screen
Basically simple equation: 1080px4=
No, it's not. It's the number of pixels on the axis of the screen with the most pixels on it... A UHD screen (not really 4K; but close) has 8294400 pixels (3840 * 2160 = 8294400).
This video aint even 1080p :(
4k is not 4 times the res of 1080. its 2 times
It's one of those things where people conflate number of pixels and resolution. Pixels are quadrupled, but resolution is only doubled.
I think it has something to do with whether vertical or horizontal or both are involved
I'm holding off till the new 5k comes out.
What a bummer !
I didn't know that already 😩
To me the most interesting things about UltraHD has nothing to do with the resolution, but things like Rec2020 color, etc.
It was creating by tv companies that wanted you to buy more of their shit by trying to make it sound like it's a step up.

Apple...
No thank you 4K.
And still CNET can't upload videos in 1080p, what an embarrassing tech channel.
actually they uploaded this in 720p xD
Who cares the video is still good viewing quality
4K is not the same as UHD. 4K is the resolution of 4096 X 2160 while UHD is 3840 X 2160..
True! Two different products, for different markets!
Ok, 3840 x 2160 is going to win out and be referred to as 4K/UHD interchangeably because its 16:9. The other one has a weird non-standard aspect ratio, so no need to confuse consumers.
Leuel48Fan 3840*2160 Also scales directly with 1920*1080, which is great for the content
Cercuitspark A Exactly. Its just those values doubled meaning no black bars when watching 1080p content on a 4K display!
It's a lost battle. In the consumer space, "4K" is UHDTV-1 and everyone understands that.
5k next year huh?
There’s only so much resolution the human eye can see lol. I’ve heard of 16k TVs lol
what about DCI?
Ok------ listen people. They have 8k TVs!!! Theyve been out for a while. In this information age its un acceptable to report on old products.

rumored for the Samsung S8 to have 4k yet iPhone still isn't nearly close to getting 4k
.
CNET explains 4K meanwhile they have never uploaded a video higher than 720p to CZcams.
CNET must really think their viewers are incredibly stupid.
Furst
Come on CNET, it should be tablet, not Ipad.
No, i think they got it right
4K is the price of the screen everybody known that.
That's qhd
1st....
so basically 2k phones hardly make any sense
I've never actually seen a 2k phone screen in comparison to ah 1080p one. Is there that much of a significant difference or is that just a gimmick ?
David Jacobs pprobably cuz 2560x1440 is almost two times 1920x1080
Bryan Carvente Well I have 1440p support on youtube on my Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4
If its 4K I get 2160p thats video permitting
