- On this episode we take a look at the interesting subject that is resolution, from a filmmaker's perspective. With pixel counts going to the millions it’s a good idea to have a basic understanding of what all this means.

+me me again Thank you very much!!! I'm really glad you like it. Make sure you share it to help other people know as well.
Just getting into film and CZcams. This was so freaking helpful. Thank you man!! 👍🏻🙏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
that doctor who Tshirt made it so much better
I appreciate you buddy, thank you for explaining it so patiently
This channel is going to blow up
this video was great! I really appreciate how it was explained and the visual examples like zooming in on the pixels and putting the pixel widths and lengths next to their corresponding sides. 👍
lolzcakey Excellent! Glad you found it useful!
This made so much sense! I was so lost until i saw this video :( Thank you so much!
+jazminad I'm so glad to hear that!!! Glad I could help
Me realizes that pixels is more than four years old: ....
Goes fast dont it
Now its 7
I like that you pointed out the difference between image quality vs resolution (especially since everybody is going nuts over resolution these days). Do you have or is there an episode coming up to discuss this in greater detail?
Unfortunately nobody really states the differences. Great question! I'll answer that next episode of Film world Community. :-D
Thanks for the vid! Well explained!!!!
Thank you so much for this breakdown! As an amateur video creator, I really needed this
Loved this explanation, thanks Film World! Great job!
+#masterofthesong Thank you! I've also got a few new episodes out now as part of Premier Prep season 4. One of them being DVD vs Blu-ray! :-)
I will probably be watching those :)
+#masterofthesong :-D
Good video man I am definitely subbing
I put the settings at 480p, actually not terrible......until I put it on 1080p
wow nice ! what a better explanation on pixels and solution, i we appreciate it if i learn more from you because am a learner in editing. thanks a lot!
This video took FOREVER to load on my Atari 2600.
Tf
Gen Z I presume? Lol
Thank you for very helpful info. I've made my decision based from your knowledge. Thank you for sharing.
Great episode!
Thanks man.
Very well explained!

Great work!
+Misha Video Thank you!
nice lesson thank u was a big help
thank you for info was very helpful
Have you done any other video of your recomendation of good and price worthy video cameras that is up to date? Cameras in 2020 that is. If not, would love to get some tips of a good video camera.
This is a good idea! I'll look into this subject and see what I can do!
Buddy - very well explained. simple and to the point. The only question I have is - how did you make that awesome intro to your channel. I am just about getting started with Premier Pro. Please advise. Thanks.
+LensOnWheels Well thank you very much! Glad you liked it and found it useful. I actually 3D modeled it in Blender and also used Blender to composite myself in there.
Awesome. Would something like Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects help me achieve something similar ? My intro is too simple a theme for what I wish to convey. By the way - its LensOnWheels. I have just uploaded an extremely basic trailer. Thanks again.
+LensOnWheels For something like that you really need a full 3D application. Blender obviously is my choice, but you can use Houdini, 3DsMax, Maya, etc
Good video - I only listened to the audio in the yard, and it sounded fine. Perfectly Ok.
Quick question: Patreon, flattr, other channels ? Or is this just a standard you-tube license channel with no gain ?
At least put a thing flattr in there, pleeease !
Answering next episode of Film World Community. Thanks for the comment and the question!
keep it going man
Thank you
My 10 year old brain pooped
good job!! very helpul and crisp!!! Make a video on Sony A6300 vs Panasaonic G
+saadgi gupta Thank you very much! I don't currently don't have access to those cameras, however I am interested in buying a GH4 or GH5 as soon as I can
Real pixels or interpolation pixels, the difference is а huge!!!
Nice Video
Amazing work dude, just a like isn’t enough for this.
Same for this comment!! Thanks!
thank you
Nice video. great
Thanks! I don't have to explain to my friend how it works!
Hey m ur new subscriber love ur video just want to ask some question if u help..
1. For photography what is the best talking about pixels
2.for slow motion video clearance what we need to use i mean in fps.
3. For good quality video what is the bes ?
Hey man! Thanks! Sorry if I mis understand one of your questions. But here's the best I've got.
1: I'd say most people are shooting an unnecessary number of pixels for photography. Anything around 20 megapixels or higher will be more than enough in my opinion.
2: Slow motion obviously means video that moves slower than reality. And any speed that is over your standard speed(24, 30 for example) can produce smooth slow mo. It just depends on how slow you want it. For most, 60fps will get you by for many situations, getting you nice and smooth 50% or 60% slow motion.
3: I believe you may be asking about the camera here. Any good camera will get you buy fine if you know how to use it. One camera that is pretty hard to beat right now is the Panasonic GH4 which is only $994 on B&H photo. I personally am looking at possibly buying the JVC GY-LS300.
Hope this helps! Anything else, let me know.
Film World thx alot sir i got it all .. my 3rd question was like normal video like without slow motion anyway do u have wats app or fb messenger th where i want to learn frm some more important things is it possible becz i love the way when u explaining its awsm and clear 🤞🤞
Check out the Film World Forum at filmworldchannel.com/forum and check out the Film World Facebook page! :-D
I'm dumb. I know this video is a bit old, but I can't seem to get a straight answer. With 1920x1080, does this mean that there are 1920 verticle COLUMNS of pixels and 1080 horizontal ROWS of pixels?
There are 1920 horizontal rows and 1080 vertical columns
Maybe you should make a video on headroom? :)
Just asking if the 1080p screen had a ‘number’ could you also call it 1.9K since its width is 1,920 pixels
+Christian Carlo-Stella You could call it that, though nobody really does. 2K is actually a thing, which is slightly wider than 1080p and often used for cinema cameras.
Thanks
Nice video
So do certain data plans not allow you to watch youtube in full 1080p 🤔
helpful
Rather than saying 16:9 1080p balalala, do you agree it is better to consider pixel per inch(ppi) for judging how "clear"the display images is?
+Simon Ngai This is a large factor, but not all of it comes down to pixel density. I've seen 1080p video that looks better than 4K. So many factors determine the quality and clarity of the image
Good explanation thanks for this video
Absolutely! Glad you liked it!
How to understand the pixel of a television and a monitor
You skipped 2k... pretty useful resolution!
Thanks for this, very well put across!! 🙃
You look like the nerdy kid from the Santa Clarita Diet 🤔😭💯🔥 that kid is a G though and so are you great video fams 🤟
Never seen the show but, thank you? 🤔🤣
Premier Prep its on Netflix haha check it out its a decent show, Drew Barrymore and the guy from Hitman are the main characters
Bro u deserve more likes and subs !
Very usefull 😁
+LAKAS Thank you so much! The best way to help get to that point is by staying active on the channel AND SHARING VIDEOS is HUGE! 😀
yah ik :D anyway im not saying this that u deserve more likes and subs i dont want you to sub me back or like me im talking about real that ur good at this and its everything usefull :)
Well, thanks again! Means a lot.
He was a very good educator. Explains it in laymans terms. Thank you i now get it.
Compare the pixel size on 50 inches tv with 1080p vs a 50 inches 4k please
exactly what i was looking for...thanks
+Jo Steins Awesome! Glad it could help!
good video
Thanks.
how does 720p or 4k relate to these numbers?
Then why was my video 1080p but 4:3 aspect ratio ??
Nice Vid I never knew what 4 k meant
Just stating facts: a person with 20/20 vision can not detect anything more than 4K with the naked eye
Finally I understand..
I feel like I’ve seen 1440p on very few CZcams videos before. Is that a thing?
Do u use samsung s series? The screen is limited to 1440p but those ppl usually upload in 4k or even 8k
PacMacDo no I have an ugly but I’ve seen 1440p on my laptop many years ago
@@brandonsg1367 idk bout laptops
can you explain vga as well?
In not here for cams but i want to buy A new tv 40 inch What is the best and not expensive
This is the first time seeing you and your cute handsome nerdy man
at some point it will be easier to store equation that give lines that trace the separation between images, than to store the absolute fuckton of pixels, or is there a problem with my thinking?
Does that mean that a 4K tv is beter than an 8k tv in terms of image quality when the 8k tv is more than twice as wide and more than twice as high compared to the 4K tv?
Thanks you Brother!!!!
So what is 1080 UHD ? ...i have this setting on my ghost x
how does 1920 + 1080 = 2,073,600 pixels?....
1920 X 1080 = 2,073,600
Oh.... thanks
that intro tho
Something my life will never have.
But I still don't see the difference in video/picture quality between 1080p or 4k
I've heard many people say this, and I can totally understand. I personally however can see a difference in the, fine details especially. But also, 4K is far better on the editing and Visual Effects side of things like green screening and things like that.
im sorry to bother but what is HDR? then. i have a samsung tab s7+ and it has 2560 x 1600. it has super AMOLED with 274 PPI at 12.4 inches.so yeah what is my resolution? thank you so much!
What is the best of them all then
I see someone that can dust watches Doctor who at least 😎
great vid but what about the frequencies that measure resolution
Camers is not that important when you just stream games the gameplay is whats important i use use the cam thats on my laptop
My laptop's resolution is 720p OR 366X768
Good content 👍
What about QHD or Quad HD...
Same
dvd's use 578 p they dont use sd
you saved my clueless ass
+PandaPri lol 😂 Thanks!
1 mile tv screen at 1920 > 1080 ^ has 1 inch pixels I think or 1 foot
The horizontal axis is z, not y
You forgot to explain 2k (1440p)
+TrollHog I was covering the most common, and while 2K is used, 1080p is much more common
Film World yep
10 years 6k min Res
There’s also hd+ or 1440p
I am watching this video with 144p is that legal !
No :)
شرف الدين الغرناطي 😂😂😂😂😂
HD SD... but 3D?
+FinSpectre GT Totally different subject, but just might be a fun video!
+Film World u skipped 1440p
+Gizmo Gaming Yes I did. I did this for a few reasons, 1: 1440p is mostly used for gaming and I was simply just covering video, 2: I couldn't mention all of them... That would be a VERY long video lol
So basically, some screen recorders can go up to 1444p depending on the laptop/or gaming PC?
hd ready full hd ultra hd super ultra hd super duper hd is the year 3000 and i got a tv with fa hd resolution (fackin awsome hd)
+nextgengaming ! Lol!
Watchin in 480 p feels bad
nice bro.
Failed to mention what "p" stands for 😬 🤦♂️
@@DAGUL_BATUMBAKAL_FB *progressive (as opposed to interlaced)
why you have so low subs
Because I need more good people like you to share the videos!
Waat is HD? Human Dog Transform project.
only 30fps? that's crap
For video games yes. Not for movies.
+Starius2 Obviously it can go higher, but usually that is the highest you'll watch something at.
Film World The Hobbit was 48 fps wasn't it.
+todaywiththeCJB Yes. But that is way out of the norm.
+todaywiththeCJB Not to mention, most people still only saw it in 24 fps. Only a select few theaters showed it in 48fps
U said up to 30 fps what about 60 fps
This was in 2016 when 60fps was practically non-existent (for most media).
Intro kinda cringy
1080p good enough to see your acnes on your face:))
