This story just makes me even more convinced that academics has become so detached from the real world that success in school hardly means you know how to do your job anymore.
Karen is described as top of her field. No, she was a new grad with little or no practical experience. Doctorate in education? Pffffft! That's basically worthless. Bill Cosby has a doctorate in education for F's sake. What good is it doing him?
I'm a fourth generation teacher.
My great grandfather was a high school teacher. Both of mom's parents were college professors. Grandfather was the college VP. My aunt is a college professor. Both of my parents are retired public school teachers, and my sister and I are both public school teachers.
That's over 200 years of combined professional education experience coming together to tell you I couldn't agree with your statement more.
Education is like a flight simulator. It's a good way to start your training, but at some point you have to actually land a plane yourself if you want to say you're a pilot.
@@spaceracer23 Personally, I'd say it's largely dependent on field.
Things like Arts? There's really not much of anything you can't learn in a classroom. Playing Piano in class and playing Piano in front of people for money is literally no different, both expect the same results in the end. (speaking from experience there)
And a LOT of stuff is similar - Programming, etc.
But other stuff, like "management school" and whatnot, is very largely different, and doesn't directly translate in really any real way.
It gives you the technical knowledge to be ABLE to do the job, but doesn't tell you at all HOW to do the job.
It's why I've always thought the last year of all degrees should basically just be a "mock job" - Every student being assigned a position, and literally just doing the kind of work you'd normally do in that field, but with completely arbitrary "tasks" so to speak - If your job doesn't require results provided by someone else, just have like arbitrary math problems or whatnot. And switch positions at least twice in the year, so each person gets to be part of the lower and upper parts of the field.
Obviously doesn't work with ALL things, but I think it would really help with office-job-type education. Give them a small taste of what working in the field is ACTUALLY like, with no direct repercussions/hard deadlines/uncontrolled environment.
I think so too. I dropped out of the university. I got my initial job in a small company from a connection, but after 3 yrs I applied for an entry level position in a big corporation depending solely on my experience and I'm doing things your regular bachelor/master degree holders are doing. I keep up with the degree holders just fine and getting promotions at normal, steady pace. I come to a conclusion that maybe 60% of what you learnt in university doesnt help you in workplace (unless for technical stuff like doctors and engineers... Even then my doctor friend said a lot what they learnt in uni is completely different from whst they experience during recidency and she had to re-learn some stuff all over again).
I was a support worker for years. You can tell the difference between a social worker who had done the hard miles and those who came straight outta university. Obviously, this isn't a black and white rule but sometimes you were smashing your head against a wall wondering how a social worker could be so clueless to how the real world works.
Lawyer: “Shake my hand! Come on, won’t you shake... a poor sinner’s hand?”

I Hereby declare this the official theme of r/Prorevenge!
That Karen sounds like she was never disciplined or told No growing up. Her "being sick" is probably stress and anxiety freaking out over getting in trouble
Even if she was sick (she did have a doctors note) she should've called or did her parents/high school teachers not teach her that?
At first I was thinking bipolar, I have known people with bipolar disorder who during manic times will lash out and do reckless things, but it doesn't effect their work ethic. So the refusing to do anything in the beginning wouldn't have been related. I had only assumed that she had something though because of the doctor's note, but if Kevin was willing to pull fraud, then Karen probably was too.
In Trinidad that's called having no "BroughtUpsy" ;)

I have Asperger Syndrome, and I've dealt with my share of abusive special-ed teachers as a kid, including an entire school full of them! It's so cruel how teachers just treat innocent kids like they're POS's when they really just don't know any better, and they know the kids can't fight back. They see the worst in everyone else except themselves.
Hi. Fellow autistic here, and my son is also autistic. Over the years we have had to deal with many problem teachers, TAs, and parents actively targeting my son (far more adults causing problems in schools than children).
It never ceases to amaze me how self-righteous a lot of them are, and how they convince themselves that they are not just vile bullies that abuse their position.
Facilities and diagnosis are better now than they were when I was a child, but the adults bullying the kids has got no better, and the schools protection of those adults seems worse today than it was back when I was growing up.
I have asperger syndrome and ptsd it was a lot worse when I was a kid. Back in 4th grade there was a room in the back of the classroom that had black carpet and black painted brick walls and if me or any of the other special kids acted up the teacher locked us in there. There was no way to see or for your eyes to adjust it was just black...you would crawl on you hands and knees cause you couldent keep your balance to walk upright without seeing. And bang on the door to be let out but they won't. Ahh I feel better thx for listing to my elementary horror story

@@kristinahall8467 What the hell? If they did that to my young autistic self, I would have been screaming with panic attacks nonstop, because I'm scared of the dark. And I spent most of my life not knowing I had autism. And my eggdonor was shitty and abused me, which caused terrible trust issues. Lots of trust issues. And when I moved back with my dad, the principal at my new school made me the scapegoat for when the rest of the class acted up. I even ended up killing off my emotions for a while, because of the bullying. And now I have issues with physical contact. I hate humanity. I wish the Karens would just kill off themselves. I remember one time at a Costco before the virus(I was 12) I went to get a sample of pizza rolls. I asked the lady if I could get two more one for my mom and one for my brother. The lady said yes and I took the the samples. As I walk away from the stand a woman pulls me from the shoulder and takes me back to the stand. She then tells the lady a the stand I stole the FREE samples. The lady say they’re free so it’s not stealing. The Karen respond by saying that I still can’t take more than one. The lady said I took more than one sample for my family. The Karen then take a box of pizza rolls and say she will be taking them as free samples for her family. The lady says it doesn’t work like that and takes the box away. Meanwhile I was just standing there and hadn’t eaten my sample yet. The Karen then looks at me and slaps the samples out of my hand and say that it doesn’t work like that for me either. The lady at the stand respond to this by saying “here, for your family” while handing me a box of pizza rolls and a ten dollar bill to pay with. The look on Karen’s face was priceless

TBH, in the beginning of the story, I could very much feel how miserable this woman felt when she discovered that her job was nothing she could actually get herself to do let alone enjoy as a career in spite of all the money and effort she had put into learning the ropes - been there, done that myself.
However, this woman did not react to this disappointing and sobering realization about her self in a mature way: I was out of my previous dream job (as I had mistakenly imagined it to be) within four months during which I didn´t miss a single day, worked hard and earned the appreciation of coworkers and boss. My resignation at the earliest possible moment (contract clause) actually came as a surprise to them, they all had considered me a valuable staff member they wanted to keep. (Then went back to Uni, got another degree, have successfully and happily worked in this new field for over 15 years by now and will hopefully do so until I retire. Working comes so easy if you enjoy what you are doing!)
I'm surprised Kevin did that in the first place. Believed what this 'Karen' told him, didn't check up with the school, even with a 3rd party to get all the facts. If he was one of the top 5 in his class, he surely would know that sending a threatening worded letter on the law firm's letterhead without the approval of any senior partner would get back to them eventually and royally screw with his career.
They most likely came from a Pay-to-Graduate College, where the marks of the student are only related to the parents donations.
I remember a story of my elementary school teacher who got fired after a lost lawsuit.
She sued the school that fired her because they were contractably forced to cover for any legal fees that would come up that were connected with the job.
The kicker? About three weeks later one of the students who had been sick at the time of the lawsuit basically just broke the lawsuit in seconds since their testimony basically was enough proof that what she had been blamed for (which was some for of verbal abuse towards the kids) had never happened and it was literally just two parents being angry because their oh so precious child would never have done anything wrong. She won both and went on to become my elemntary school's teacher and would stay there for well over 40 years.
She just sounds a lazy person who thought consulting would be a cushy job where she didn’t really have to do anything. When asked to actually work she was like nope and dragged her husband into it.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
"Karen" reminds me of a freshly graduated nurse with whom my sister roomed and worked years ago. Karen was shocked to discover that nurses are expected to do physical w-o-r-k. Suddenly Karen "injured" her back. Out of work and on disability, Karen recuperated on the beach. Eventually the hospital became tired of paying for Karen's suntans, so she was fired.
This is why people like me who has actual back problems can't get the help we need
You know sometimes I wonder if the idea of kids having an "allowance" does more harm than good sometimes. Although my parents made it very clear that the weekly income was contingent on helping with housework, chores, etc., I get the feeling not every parent applies this method to their kids. Otherwise, why is there so much entitlement?
@@Twisted_Code -- Another problem may be the lower birth rate. When you're one of 4-5 kids, you're unlikely to be spoiled. But when you're an only child, you're very likely to be spoiled.

School Board: we're about to end their whole career...... oh... not the crazy person... we're going to end the woman actually doing her job...
Can you imagine a job where you can be absent for a week, and STILL being given multiple chances to keep your job?
I can. There might indeed be a perfectly reasonable explanation (e.g. being involved in a severe accident with an extended hospital stay, being unable to contact the company). If I was HR I wouldn't want to make any hasty decisions based on incomplete information which might expose the company to a lawsuit. I don't know how it is in the U.S. but defending a wrongful termination lawsuit when the employee has a medical condition can be hard.

--If I didn't know any better, Karen mistreated a special needs student, and just about when Karen was about to get hooked; she formulated something to get everyone off the scent, and ultimately screwed herself in the process. Its not surprising.
That sounds about right! They where so focus on her no call no show when they should have looked into what she did for the little time she was there... It takes a lot of patience to work with special needs kids and nothing in her collage resume said she worked with special needs before! (All the stuff you learn in collage is different in real life application!) If she fucked up right a way with a student it could be why she "dropped of the face of the earth" because she didn't want it coming back on her... Even when she was "in the clear" she wanted to be petty about sick leave... I wonder if this would have escalated if her husband wasn't a lawyer....

That husband and wife sounded like a couple of spoiled brats. They must’ve come from rich families, had to have when think about how much college they must have attended. Also their behavior seems to back that up, they simply believed that they had to do zero work and expected everyone to bow to them as if they were royalty or something. Then reality smacks them dead in the face! My guess is not only do they sit and blame everyone else around them for their failures, but also whine and cry about how the world is against them. They were top of the class because there parents payed .... sorry "donated" alot
@@vortex7733I mean I don't know them of but that does seem more plausible than them actually working theirs asses off to graduate top of their class and then turning into lazy jackasses. You'd think that someone who gets recommended like Karen was would be a responsible and ambitious person. So either Karen (and Kevin) changed after college or everyone just misjudged them drastically.
You don't have to be rich to study. I'm at my university for already 8 years and i pay 300€ a year. Half of that money is for a non limited bus ticket though and you can voluntarily reject it and get the money back. Not in every country you have to sell your kidney in order to visit a university.
In the US they do offer scholarships and sometimes you can get breaks, but it’s pretty limited. The education system here is broken and it’s more about how much money the university can get than it is about education. Some may argue against this, but from what I’ve seen they spend more on looking good and sports, which is a huge cash cow.
@@drstihl2007 no you don't. But the ritch kids can get away with more because they pay more. In the US the majority of things are run like a busines. Witch us why in health care you may survive a car crash but the hospital bills alone will kill you.
Thats why the richer kids seem to hurras and be lazy without consequences. They know they will graduate one way or another. And to top it off they get top marks so mom and pa give more to the school and if the sports team dose well and the special education students improve then the government will throw money to.
Thats why they push sports and and raise your grade up so much by the end of the year. At least that's what my school did.

My ex-fiance got his Ph.D. in engineering and worked in a national laboratory. I'm sure he had to have security clearance. He left me, we had a long distance relationship. Right after me, he married a criminal, she was indicted for child abuse and now he doesn't work at that national laboratory anymore. What a waste of his education.
Imagine writing all of that out. JESUS CHRIST
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

@@akumabazooka9169 Hail Grammar **salute**
I’m sad it didn’t have the “I was mrs. p” line at the end
For context as a school worker: staff _always_ start early to set things up. I'm a school librarian and _I'm_ expected to start early. At the schools I've worked at, the expectation is that you set up your room/area then see what you can do to help those who haven't finished yet, with Education Assistants first helping their assigned classroom then fanning out to help other staff. It's actually quite fun, as everyone gets a chance to catch up/meet new staff before the chaos begins.
Is it bad that I’m 13, going into 8th grade, starting school in 2 weeks, trying to sleep more because I have to wake up at 6 AM during school weeks, and here I am, up past midnight, filling in every blurred out word in these vids and smiling whenever a Karen or Chad gets utterly DESTROYED?
These story’s where the entitled person is destroyed in every way should be close to nuclear revenge
And here I was, thinking that you needed a brain to graduate college but the first story proved that theory wrong.
Nah, you mostly need to have a somewhat okay memory for most bachelor's degree.
You only really need a good brain to get into graduate school.
I love stories that have a happy ending.
. . . So is anyone else wondering who OP is in this situation?
Very much so. They're telling the story as if they're some third party, but for a third party they sure know a lot of things that would probably be private. Seems to me like the only person who would actually know all that information would be the principal herself.
Same question led me to do some digging. This whole story is most probably fiction.
@@nipunbhalla I'm almost positive it's fiction. The person has way too much information to be a third party, but the grammar suggests they probably don't have the education level of anyone who would have been directly involved in the situation...
@@rebeccalopez5094 LOL. Don't judge someone's education level by the grammar of a reddit post. I know a ton of people with masters degrees that can't write for 💩.
Grammar gets even worse when someone is in the casual setting of an internet post.
@@spaceracer23 I question the validity of their masters degrees or at least question what field the degrees are in... I've never known anyone with a legitimate masters degree who had grammar that horrific. I have a GED and my grammar is better than that...
This should definitely be r/nuclearrevenge
I can only think of Ms. P saying “Whoopsies” in a catbug voice, to Karen and Kyle.
GRUYGRGFYGRFPIYG yes
this is one hell of a revenge....daaammnn
It's a huge world but small when you are burning reputations
So essentially they let their pride and stubbornness get in the way of sense and imploded their own lives.
One hour special soon, please 😇
"other choirs you don't learn in college"
Yup, sounds about right.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Karen and Kevin were top of the class because their family are "top donators" of their college/university
Did you get away with the being sick?
Karen: Yes.
What did it cost?
Kevin: Everything.
Week while sounds like Kevin and Karen were book smart, they’re clearly entitled and think the world owes them for their hard work in school
If they did hard work in school. Kevin was willing to pull fraud once, he could be the type to pay someone else to do the work for him.
Nothing like watching karens lifes ruined at 1 in the morning
Karen: doesn't do any work
Karen when she doesn't get payed for "all the work she has done": Angy

By the way it only counts as a view if you watch about 30 seconds of it by the way there are people who will like with the video before the video even starts so that’s why
I can imagine Ms. P ulling her hand from the camera while wearing a grey sweater shirt, sighing and then starting to talk
I love the petty/pro/nukeular revenge and malicious compliance the most
you know when op says "Karen destroys her life" you know the story is going to be tasty
*you have underestimated my power. I may live in the south hemisphere but I'm Over here chilling in 12:40 am.*
I love r/prorevenge so much. The subreddit of sweet justice!
He has the best Karen voice 👏
I was really annoyed how perfect they made both Kevin and Karen's life would be at the start... But by the end of it, that's exactly what made it funnier.
Plot twist, Kevin is actually saul goodman
I was also thinking this was like the premise of a terrible Better Call Saul knockoff
Spex Speccly ‘a petty lawyer helping petty criminals’ was what sold it. We should start a GoFundMe for Should Ring Kevin
Mind blown
A criminal lawyer, make sense.
This is the most incredible thing I have ever heard.
OMG those two are the biggest fuds I've ever heard for not digging deeper into possible outcomes of this action
That last one was nuclear revenge! Destroying two peoples’ careers, ruining their name and clearing her own. Mrs. P deserves a war medal for winning that one so magnificently!
Male Karen’s are called Cartmans with my friends and family 🤣 you’re all welcome to use it
But Eric is way more intelligent than all Karens and Kevins combined~
@@Robin93k lmao has nothing to do with inelegance...hes racist and complains when things dont go his way
Love when they implode themselves, heard this story a couple months ago
Mark pay more child support or I will sue you
Karen lol, I don’t have children, so good luck with that Karen
@@gnashsang Yes well since you minded them once for free for me I can charge you child support
Karen, I once thought how great it would feel to kill my crappy boss, so based on your logic I’m a serial killer, lmao

This is the first Karen story where the husband is not being emotionally and financially abused

Bro his impressions kill me every time. Especially the entitled kid one😆😆😆😆
Venomous Karen: This one was just beautiful! I haven't heard of a Karen getting owned so wonderfully!
how is that even a thing? In my whole life, whenever i just would have not come to work for some days without any possible contact i would have been immediately fired! Totally ignored to any kind of medical situation and without any kind of help...
Some people are just not worth the effort they get put into and do not appreciate the great opportunity they are getting with their life....
I have nothing to say so

SWEET HOME ALAMABAMAMSNAMAMSNSNBMA
Ugh... this one hurt a lot.
My little brother is autistic and my family had to fight tooth and nail to find a reputable school for him to attend so he has the best chance at learning new skills and improving on the ones he already has. He’s nonverbal so sometimes explaining something to him is difficult and unless you know him or have an immaculate understanding of autism and how it works then getting through to him is incredibly difficult. Not his fault at all, but it meant that he couldn’t go to the same school as me.
I’m incredibly protective of my brother, he’s an absolute gentle giant who’s absolutely obsessed with Spyro the Dragon (we played it together as kids, PS1 era) and despite having little to no grasp on the English language, let alone written word, he’s been able to complete the games 111%. All the extra hidden details, all of it. I’m always in awe of how he adapts and how intelligent he is. I love him so much.
That being said, it can be difficult to get my brother to do other activities. That’s fairly typical, but when it’s communicated to him correctly he can do so much. That’s why I’m always in just utter awe at the dedication and patience that the workers at his current college, as well as the previous schools he’s gone to have been. They’ve done so much for him and I can’t thank them enough for taking the time to do one on one work with him so he can build up these skills for his future. The idea of a Karen just... behaving like that is disgusting. Working with disabled children isn’t a “toxic environment”, it’s incredibly rewarding as long as you’re not a self centred piece of shit. A lot of nasty and cruel people (school bullies) often go into nursing and child care because they enjoy the imbalance of power in their favour towards whoever they’re looking after, whether it’s a sick person who depends on them for help, a disabled person who needs aid or a child that can’t even walk. I’m 100% convinced that the Karen was one of those people, and it sickens me.
In conclusion, whilst schools and colleges aimed at teaching and helping disabled students can be “messy” and sometimes dangerous (if the student has anger issues or has trouble expressing their frustration, thankfully my brother hasn’t hit anyone in his life and he’s a true gentle giant) you learn this and how to cope with that personally when you go through the motions to become a carer / teacher at one of these establishments. Me thinks that Karen thought she could get away with doing the bare minimum because a majority of her students may not have been able to speak or communicate or let alone understand that they were being neglected on an academic level.
I’m just thankful to all of my brothers previous and current tutors who’ve done so much for not just him, but my family as well. It’s a truly selfless job and you can tell that the people working have a real passion to aid disabled folk.
Karen’s getting destroyed is like music to my ears
“Karen had a job in government which must’ve meant good benefits”.
You must never have worked in government
