Woodturning - Hickory Burl

Technically it is not a Burl, it is a Canker that grows on the outside of the tree, like a scab. But everyone refers to them as Burls. This Hickory Turn was a struggle indeed as the wood itself was like turning stone. It began round and I had to trim it down on the bandsaw (off camera) prior to mounting it. I am happy with the outcome. It polished nicely.
It is up for grabs at my Etsy Store if anyone wants it. It does have a few splits inside at the bottom, just part of the natural effect in the wood itself.
