Woodturning - the Apple of my eye

- Hello friends! Today's Turn is an Apple Log. Sometimes when I begin a turning I have no idea what the end product will be. In this case I decided to go with an Apple shape (sort of) and capped it off with some Red Cedar to give it that Candied look. Stuck a Walnut stem on there just because. It was a fun project, although I spent a great deal of time doing it even though it is not that big of a piece. The wood itself was still “green”, that may have a lot to do with my tool catching it and causing it to fly off of the Chuck. Luckily is suffered no damage, so I remounted it and continued.
Sanded 80-2000
Mineral Oil and Shellac finish
Thanks again for watching. See you on the next Turn!! - Jak na to + styl

Beautiful.. It is great seeing when things go wrong that it is not the end, unlike other channels who cut them out, keep it up I am spreading the word here in the UK
Great Thank you! My bloodline hails from the UK 1460 on my Father’s side.
you are pretty good at your art -- keep it up -- I enjoy watching -- as a 1yr old I like seeing different techniques
I am still learning myself. It’s really only been a few years, I still have not mastered that Skew Chisel technique. Thank you for the kind words
Beautiful
It ended up cracking 2 days later. Fruit wood always does that to me. I need a wood kiln this year
@@Waylandwoodworks soon when the checks start rolling in
Need a bandsaw replacement first, mine kicked the bucket! I’m lost without that thing.😪
