Let’s talk about fatigue-the root cause and how to fix it.
It all starts with your mitochondria. The mitochondria are the energy factories deep inside your cells that make ATP. ATP is the energy of the body.
Certain foods contribute to the energy-making process of the body more than other foods. It’s almost impossible to extract energy from ultra-processed foods.
Important nutrients to support energy include:
    • Vitamin B1
    • Vitamin B2
    • Vitamin B3
    • Folic acid
    • Vitamin B12
    • Magnesium
    • Manganese
    • Selenium
    • Vitamin C
    • Coenzyme Q10
A healthy person makes a massive amount of ATP. You generate more ATP when you exercise, but ATP doesn’t get stored. Your body can either store sugar or fat as fuel. Fat is a much more efficient fuel source than sugar.
When you go on a low-carb diet and get into ketosis, you become fat-adapted. Once you’re fat-adapted, you can burn fat as fuel a lot easier. This is why the keto diet, with a lot of nutrient-dense foods, is the best diet to increase energy.
Exercise is the number one way to produce more mitochondria and boost your energy. This is just one more reason to exercise consistently.
Other things to add to increase your energy and get rid of fatigue:
    • Intermittent fasting
    • Cold therapy
    • Phytonutrients
Things to avoid to help support healthy energy levels:
    • Refined sugar and carbohydrates
    • Stress
    • Heavy metals
    • Smoking
    • Alcohol

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:00 🛌 *Understanding the root cause of fatigue involves the mitochondria, the energy factory inside cells, responsible for producing ATP, the body's energy source.*
01:53 🥦 *Food quality matters for energy production; nutrient-dense foods supply essential vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B12, etc.) crucial for the assembly line in making ATP.*
04:39 🔄 *ATP, the body's energy currency, is continuously generated on demand and isn't stored, relying on processes like the Krebs cycle for its production.*
06:27 ⚡️ *The ketogenic diet promotes better energy generation from ketones and fat reserves, beneficial for sustained energy levels.*
08:02 🧠 *70% of ATP is used by the brain; insufficient ATP can lead to various brain-related issues like mood disorders and cognitive decline.*
09:26 💊 *Statin drugs inhibit Coenzyme Q10 production, vital for ATP generation, leading to muscle issues and decreased energy levels.*
11:46 🍔 *Nutrient-dense foods like red meat provide essential energy-generating factors crucial for sustaining energy levels.*
13:34 🏃 *Regular exercise is key to producing more mitochondria, crucial for enhancing energy levels and countering mitochondrial damage-related diseases.*
14:00 ⏳ *Intermittent fasting triggers autophagy, recycling damaged proteins and mitochondria, aiding in creating new and functional mitochondria for increased energy.*

It's only the inexperienced newbies who go there to "lose weight".

Exactly! I’ve done CrossFit for years and still do as much as o can during my pregnancies (the last one and my current one). Which is a whole other discussion. My dad doesn’t think I should be working out at all. Firstly, I’d go crazy after working out all those years- secondly have no energy and not be strong for labor. Labor is athletic! Take so much strength and energy. Most people are so uneducated on all this

    Here are some key takeaways:
    1. Fatigue and low energy often stem from dysfunctional mitochondria. Mitochondria are the "powerhouses" inside your cells that produce energy in the form of ATP.
    2. Things that support healthy mitochondria include: the ketogenic diet, nutrient-dense foods like red meat, exercise, cold therapy, some phytonutrients, avoiding refined carbs and sugar, managing stress, and avoiding toxins.
    3. Coenzyme Q10 is an important nutrient that supports mitochondrial function. Many common medications like statins can deplete CoQ10 levels. Supplementing may help increase energy.
    4. The brain uses a very high percentage of the body's ATP. Boosting mitochondrial function can have profound effects on brain health and mood disorders.
    5. Making more mitochondria (through exercise) and repairing existing ones (through fasting and phytonutrients) is key. Damaged mitochondria produce less ATP.
    6. We have only a small reserve of ATP available at any one time. The ketogenic diet allows us to tap into larger fat stores for fuel when needed.
In summary, supporting mitochondria function through diet, lifestyle, and strategic supplementation can have a big impact on fatigue and energy levels.

My fatigue disappeared when I tackled candida. I realised it was that the whole time. Do the spit test in the morning by spitting into a glass of water before eating or drinking and see if some sinks to the bottom - if it does it means candida is in your throat/tongue which shows its been in the body for a long time. I started taking Candidase and my sugar cravings went away, then I noticed I didn't need my infrared light box and was waking up feeling clear and alert, all by day 2 of the treatment.

Love this. The dedication it takes to stay energized is so amazing, yet paradoxical. It’s so easy to make poor diet choices, stay up late surfing the internet/media and not exercise. But those temporary dopamine hits just make things chronically worse. You would think preserving energy means you have more of it, but that’s only true for animals who live to survive. Humans have to stay stimulated or productive to maintain high energy because our basic needs are met (in most places)

Watching this video just feels revelatory. Ketogenesis makes sense as our predominant ancestral energy pathway vs glycogenesis given the nature of seasonal vegetation and abundance. Not to say that we should only be adhering to diets like carnivore or only eat meat or anything, but I think Dr. Berg hit the nail on the head in saying that we need to focus on soil fertility, enhancing nutrient adsorption, and producing nutrient dense food (in all of it's forms) all around.
Keep on preaching what they, for whatever reason, don't want people to know, Dr. Berg!

Great video. I'm 47 and have been exercising (weightlifting and cardio) plus eating a healthy diet for almost 29 years. I rarely eat processed food, mainly on vacation. My daily energy is off the charts. I wake up instantly like hitting a light switch and never crash. Zero stress, anxiety, and perfect health stats. If you put in the time, it does pay off in the end.
I always find it amusing when people think my brother who is 4 years younger is the older brother. They think I'm in my 30s and he's in his 50s. He has a high stress job, ex wife, kids, never worked out a day in his life, and eats a terrible diet.

Sure there are worse off than myself but I don't know of them. I am definitely the one of everyone I've ever known to feel the way I do. You hit a good few times with your points about your fatigue. I have had physical and mental fatigue all my days.. going back a memory of a party where all the other kids have energy and I'm sleeping, through high school really feeling a physicality in my head of the mental drain to now. Only this last year have I really begun to study myself, which, is hard to do, use your brain to study a brain that doesn't work, really hard. So thanks your giving me new insights and paths to follow. Was really hoping there was more of a specific answer in this video but I knew that would be too easy. Oh and definitely have intolerance to excersize. Cheers, Dave.

I've always found it very ironic that putting in work and exercising results in feeling more energetic, when you would think logically that it would tire you out more. 🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:56 🧬 *Mitochondria, the energy factory inside cells, is the root cause of fatigue, and most diseases stem from its dysfunction.*
02:35 🍎 *Nutrient-dense foods with essential vitamins (B1, B2, B3, folic acid, B12, magnesium, manganese, selenium, vitamin C, and co-enzyme Q10) are crucial for ATP (energy) production in mitochondria.*
05:46 🔄 *ATP is generated on demand and not stored, emphasizing the importance of continuous energy production, especially during exercise.*
08:32 🥑 *Adopting a ketogenic diet is essential for efficient energy production, providing a quick fuel source and allowing tapping into fat reserves.*
09:26 💊 *Statin drugs, while lowering cholesterol, can deplete co-enzyme Q10, affecting energy levels and causing muscle-related side effects.*
11:46 🥩 *Nutrient-dense red meat provides energy-generating factors, and a study suggests it offers more biomarkers than plant-based fake meat.*
13:34 🏋️ *Regular exercise is the primary way to increase mitochondria, counter diseases, and trigger autophagy for the recycling of damaged proteins and mitochondria.*
14:29 ❄️ *Cold therapy, cold showers, and phytonutrients (like sulforaphane in cruciferous vegetables) can enhance mitochondria reproduction and repair.*
15:24 🚫 *Avoiding refined foods, sugar, chronic stress, heavy metals, smoking, and alcohol is crucial for mitochondrial health and overall energy levels.*
